I'm not trying to be rude or a smart ass, but seriously, wouldn't this be a great cause for some deep reflection…
"Drunk mean no consent!!"
No matter how many times you hysterical fools wite this down and no matter with how many exclamation marks you are shouting, it is still the most idiotic thing to say in the universe. People have consensual drunk sex every day, that is what happens in bars, night clubs, discos, house parties, etc. Perhaps you should go out more and see the real life. "you cant give consent when drunk so this enthusiastic consent is an illusion." - Jesus Fucking Christ. You either never had sex in your life or you never consumed alcohol, or probably neither.
Sometimes I still can't believe how some is so against XS-YJ couple even until this point, when we are almost…
I never cease to be amazed at your unlimited patience and good faith aimed at the unthinking, I am totally lacking in both.
But all your noble efforts are wasted on the unworthy. They are not listening. It is been long weeks now, people begged them to re-watch that bloody scene, it has been analyzed endlessly, but they don't care. They just love hating, simple as that. From the preview it is 100% we are approaching a happy end for both MCs, so it is better to prepare for an avalanche of apoplectic members of the BL Sex Authorizing Committee.
One of the things I think is odd about this fan blow up on the series is that Sib gets this big pass. All of the…
Sib had more lies, unreasonable, scheming and mischievous acts and disregard for others in one episode than Aoey in the whole show. But if it comes to Sib, anything goes, because he is the dashing and irresistible Top, the ML on white horse. The whole shit was escalated by the picture taken at the beach of Gene and Sib together, so Aoey's livestream did not change the situation a jot, but people eagerly shift the blame onto the latter, just to distract the attention from Sib being at fault in the first place. Cognitive dissonance, basket case.
Another array of indoctrinating, patronizing spinsters with all the wokey buzzwords available in the book coming over here to lecture viewers. Cannot we ever get rid off these tight-arsed, self-proclaimed BL Torquemadas?
In case someone else misssed it like me, there is one more additional scene after the end credits of episode 6, where Tee tries to reach Bas over the phone.
Apart from some technical issues due to its obvious low budget, this is one of the most incisive, intellgently written and skillfully directed pieces I have seen recently, with generally excellent performances, particularly by Michael and Daniel. Michael should get an award for this. Even the cinematography is smooth and skilled, considering its budget.
Watch the Thai movie Fathers from 2016, if you have not done so far. The plot is similar, though more dramatic,…
It is nonsense. Those who say such bs clearly do not pay attention to the plot. You cannot actually see the kid going back to his dads, but it is clear that is gonna happen. Dads never gave up on their kid in the first place. Butr (the kid) was only allowed to stay a few weeks with his biological mother.
I agree with all of your points. Honestly, I thought this was a well done episode. It was fluffy with an dark…
Tum's horrible sister hinted that the separation might continue once the show is over as well, and Sib and Gene are both young who will once find someone else. I guess this was there to point out BL actors cannot have private life in the BL industry for ages or until they leave, due to deranged fans being unable to make difference between life and fiction.
I get this point and it was potrayed and illuminated well enough, but reaction of both Gene and Sib was inflated and illogical. Sib was hot-headed when he wanted to walk out straight away. Walking out of the industry once the show is over could have been an acceptable compromise, but for Gene to give up on his love just a few days after they both confronted their parents and decided to stay strong, only because it might harm Sib' BL actor carreer in the future (which he does not want) is absurd.

This was the penultimate episode and it was the first time when Aoey did something really bad, and even that was seemingly unintentional and not in a bad faith. It was not a scheming or wicked act, he felt no satisfaction afterwards. People consistently hate him since day one, simply because his character was placed there to divide the main ship, and people conveniently use him as a punch bag . He is a very interesting and complex character.
Ep 11 unfolded as I expected. Gosh, I’d be frustrated working with these people. I think it was the producer…
You are not alone. This was the preultimate episode and it was the first time when Aoey did something really bad, yet people consistently hate him since day one, simply because his character was placed there to divide the main ship, and BL fans conveniently use him as a punch bag . He is a very interesting and complex character.
Wait a second...what was that internal conflict Paper had that made him reject Sky? I don't think this was ever…
This is a part of Paper's Prom Speech: "Love can make one’s life to be fulfilling, at the same time, hurting too. Hurting so much that some of you may be scared of falling in love. But I want all of you to know that If one day, you find yourself being in love, and whatever the reason may be. Be honest with your feelings. Do what your heart says. You might end up smiling, laughing or crying. But at least you have followed what your heart says. Don’t be afraid of the result it may bring". So maybe he was just scared of his own feelings.
This is not sarcasm, I'm just curious - what is disturbing? This is the most wholesome story I've ever seen. They've…
You are funny af, sweetipoo. I have had quite a few lentgthy disquisition above about the history of teenage love traditions, none of which you could address (not surprising, considering your extremely limited intelligence, to put it mildly and in understatement), and all what you could squeeze out of your brain bird was an insult and infantile jibe of the opponent's nick name. That is indeed kindergarten level, so go back to the nursery, like a good baby boi/girl, it is nap time.
This is exactly how I feel about this drama. They have been trying to redeem him so much that they even changed…
Since you seem to like block capitals, I give you some too.
Xing Si was NOT BLACK OUT DRUNK and he was NOT RAPED.
The fact that Yong Jie carries him up from the bar in his arms does not matter, because we don't know how long after that the action begins in the hotel room. Yong Jie is questioning whether Xing Si is awake, if he knows who he is with, where he is, then they start a lucid and rather eloquent conversation about Yong Jie's love. Xing Si constructs clear and versatile sentences without blurring or slip of tongue ("Why was it painful? Then why didn't you stop loving him?"). So Yong Jie makes sure Xing Si is conscious, because for him it is important for Xing Si to like what is coming and to remember that. Then they mutually confess love.
So when you say "His brother was drunk and no way in a position to give consent" it is NOT TRUE. It is either WRONG or LIE.
Xing Si then puts his arms around Yong Jie's neck, pulls him close and tries to kiss him on the lips. Attention: XING SI MAKES THE FIRST INTIMATE MOVE. Then Xing Si receives a BJ and apparently enjoys it. (I hope you are clear about that oral does not work if the receiver does not want it or is incapacitated). So it is pretty clear that Xing Si, though drunk, is conscious and absolutely clear about what is happening and he actively participates.
So when you say it was "an act in which a person intentionally sexually touches another person without that person's consent, or coerces or physically forces a person to engage in a sexual act against their will" is NOT TRUE. It is either WRONG or LIE. On the contrary. Xing Si literally started it, he made the first move.
And don't even start the ludicrous "it was the alcohol, not him" bs. Alcohol consumption is not hypnosis and it does not lead to metamorphosis or personality transfer. It only lowers inhibitions, but drunk people do not confess love to and initiate sexual intercourse with people they otherwise would not wish to do so.
The scene, I guess, was made in a deliberate way to make sure Xing Si gave verbal and non-verbal consent alike, that is why they have a clear, lucid and even eloquent conversation in the bed, that is why he is asked whether he knows who the other person is and what is happening, that is why they mutually confess love, that is why Xing Si initiates French kiss and intimate moves - not the other way around, and that is why he gets a BJ.
And when the morning after Xing Si freaks out and runs home, the scene is also made in a deliberate way to show his worry is caused by shame and a feel of guilt. He explicitly says he "slept" with his brother (ATTENTION: not being assaulted, not raped), and he consistently tells he feels ashamed of possibly taking advantage of his "little brother" (His words again: "It was my fault, I should not have drunk", "How could I do that with my brother?", "It was probably because of my pestering", "But he wouldn't have voluntarily...", "How will I explain this to his mother?"). His whole conversation with his friends is about his worry and dilemma whether his "little brother" was willing or not.
What Yong Ji did is still messed, calculated, manipulative, morally condemnable, misguided and disturbing to the core, but it is not sexual assault. It is called seduction. He set up a trap to lower Xing Si's inhibitions, because he knows he wants him as well, but he is afraid of doing so, due to his sense of responsibility for his "little brother". Yet Xing Si is a 30 years old adult who started drinking at his own responsibility. Furthermore Yong Jie's actions are not justified, he is rejected and sent away.
The creators definitely wanted to show a morally reprehensible, wrong, twisted and scheming but still strictly consensual situation there, and actually they made a pretty fine balance. That is why the verbal and non-verbal foreplay was so carefully worded and constructed, and that why Xing Si 's freakout the day after is entirely and vocally about his feel of shame instead of feeling like a rape victm. Even when Yong Jie arrives he keeps slapping him only when he repeatedly says "I love you not as a brother". The creators IMHO were hell bent on avoiding rape in that scene. The point of the attempted rape of Mu Ren by the vice-president later is probably there to show the difference also. Mu Ren is not just drunk, he is drugged. Unlike Xing Si, he is incapacitated but he still repeatedly says "No".
What the creators apparently did not calculate with is that Western audiences by now are so knee-deep in the "safe space" mindset, that a fair amount of them literally cannot handle not black & white situations, damaged and/or flawed characters, relationships with dark nuances and gritty aspects, let alone sexual interactions in the grey area, and for many of them every sexual interaction is rape where the parties do not sign a certified and preferably notarized statement of consent and submit it to the BL Fan Sex Authorizing Committe in advance.
As a matter of fact, nothing does more harm to the cause of "rape and sexual assault being taken more seriously" than the mindset and behaviour above, and nothing debases the issue more than knee jerk reactions of people who just jump on the band wagon of hate without consideration.
The points elaborated above have been meticulously detailed by some others ever since that ominous hotel room scene over the past weeks, but none of the happily outraged bothered to contradict any of them. They were all happy to keep hating their own strawman version of the events instead of what was happening on the screen. You may surprise me by being the first one who does, but my hopes are not high.
