lol How very SJW of you. Toxic relationships often make for great drama. It's been that way for thousands of years.
It was before the hotel incident and supposedly as a revenge for hitting Mu Ren on the street. I did not like that at all. Firstly because he already punched YJ on the spot, so they were even, if we stick to the"eye for an eye" routine, and secondly because it was more about LC's showing off his virility rather than anything else. Repetaedly beating up a troubled and much weaker kid for one punch was hard to watch for me.

And just to add: Pretty much Muren summarised some of the arguments we had here in his conversation with Xingsi…
"And Xingsi's response clearly showed that whatever some thought it was (taking advantage, etc.), it really wasn't, and Xingsi himself saying it very much affirmed it."

Before they had sex in the hotel room, they had a lucid  conversation, YJ making sure XS know where he is, who the other person is and knows what was happening. They had mutual confession of love, and XS was the one who started to move on YJ erotically - then the lynch mob came and shouted XS was blackout drunk, unconscious and he was raped - in spite of what XS said and did himself .

When the day after XS freaked out and run home, he made absolutely sure he blamed himself for what happened and he explicitly told his friends he clearly thought he had taken advantage of his "little brother", so no way he felt assaulted - then the lynch mob came and shouted XS was traumatized for being raped -  in spite of what XS said and did himself.

Why do you think that when XS makes sure and says explicitly, on the third occasion, that he was not raped, the lynch mob would not know again better than XS himself, and they would not carry on ranting and shouting about their own strawman version of the show instead of what is being played on the screen?

"OK, but Li Cheng beating up someone helpless was romanticised and viewed as positive, but I haven't heard one person object to that."

Not that I am about to flaunt, but I did. Actually, I think I was the one who brought it up.

Title HIStory4: Close to You Spoiler
Oh, dear. I guess this is going to be a general rant, jumping from point to point. Two pet peeve observations:1)…
XS quite graphically receives (and enjoys) a blowjob from YJ, and he remembers the day after that he was bottomed. So it is pretty much 100% they had sex, but otherwise I agree with most of what you said. I also liked the part of the diary-reading when YJ purposefully acted like a spoilt brat to the parents and demanded a bigger room, only to help XS move out.

I am sorry to interfere but down there I think you misunderstood jpy01. What he just wanted is to point out is the hypocrisy of the lynch mob who constantly rage over the stepbrothers story line from their self-proclaimed moral high ground but happily ignore the "problematic" aspects of the other ones. I doubt he has problems with any of the couples. He is one of the most vocal opponents of the single-minded "rape-rape-rape boooo" choir.

Does nobody see the hypocrisy in loving what's going on with Li Cheng and Mu Ren but loathing everything having…
This dichotomy perfectly demonstrates how faux, hypocritical and shallow the tantrums and meltdowns of the lynch mob is over the brothers' NOT rape bed scene, as well as another evidence that most of them just jump on the bandwagon and follow like mice.

It's to the point that it's hard to believe there isn't something weird going on here. I thought you were kidding,…
I was not kidding. I have made my comments after makig this observation. It is truly patethic and frightening at the same time that an agenda could be so vital for some ideologically committed talibans.

Any more freshly registered accounts commenting "I skip all the toxic stepbrother scenes and spattering holy water onto the screen while doing it"? Just let us know when you are done. Thanks.

On Call It What You Want Apr 11, 2021
So far so good. Cunningly written, poignant, superbly acted and even cinematically quite inventive despite its obvious low budget. And those waspish references and jabs ("the Motivation Village staff
were victims of a fraud", " There is this upcoming series called 2Nights." - holy shit)

A joyous entree. Throroughly enjoyable from start to finish, though the main concept is rather undermined by the fact that the protagonist is cute af and by no means he looks like a loser.

"Since when did Pei Shou Yi have a disassociative disorder? " Since the beginning. It is mentioned right after his fiirst appearance in season 1. SY clearly is in love with ZX, that was obvious even in season 1. He kept his mug and noodles with him all the time. He was just afraid of letting him in. By the the influence of ZX's monologue when he listed what objects of him he kept and they remind of him, and then when he said farewell, I guess SY just gave in. It was fast, for sure, but not so unreasonably for me. There were a lot worse holes than that.

I remember almost nothing about Oxygen or any of the other "Standard Formula" BLs - they all run together to me.…
From the latest episode I presume the Li Cheng - Mu Ren story line is about to be more absorbing and complex as it progresses alike. Maybe not quite as deep and intirguing as the Yong Jie - Xi Si narrative, but it is definitely on its way.

Or YJ possibly means he is gonna make sure that house is going to be his family home again as well as their love nest simultaneously. The"permission" might also make sense in a way. Now that they had sex, and it is is obvious for both parties that their love as well as sexual attraction to each other is mutual, XS is afraid to spend some more nights there. YJ migh have wanted to reassure XS that the next sexual encounter is likely to happen between them when everything is settled and they are both fine. XS still has guilty conscience for YJ's having feelings for him, and YJ perhaps just wanted to make sure XS does not have to worry about the temptation. Actually, it is not a double entendre, it is a multiple one.

The Viki always uploads a corrected, revised subtitle towards the middle of the week. It is worth checking up. The Engsub now is like that in that scene: "Not just for one night. There will be lots and lots of nights. I will let you come home. I said I'll let you come home. You don't need to be scared of anything".

I wouldn't expect much from the writing tbh because it's the same writer who messed up the final episode of MODC
Among others lol. The moppet is the sharpest knife in the shed, but with enough hysteria to compensate for the lack of intellect.

Episode 7 was extremely emotional and heart-wrenching. And I have to say, Nubsib's explanation for not revealing himself is pretty rational and fairly convincing to me. I still feel Gene's reaction a bit exaggerated. I suspected something darker prelude than this.
