I love actors who can make creepy smile and not look stupid in same time. And i super love actors who can give to that creepy smile countless variations and meanings.
That was pleasure to read. Even if i didnt agree with some tiny aspect - i saw from where you came, you managed write something what has good logic, well presented opinions and makes emotional impact in reader.
This was one of the more realistic J-Dramas Romances I've seen. It was beautifully done showing the actors (with…
I agree. It was refreshing to see once jdrama without heroine made some martyr who in the end sacrifices herself for family or society and gives up love and dreams. Here heroine gets to know real love/ yes, she really got what real love is and love here isnt fairytale one, it is one what burns you and your partner to ashes if you cant handle it and learns dream and how to make them come true.
Near end they make me believe that story goes like always / and only afterwards i recoqnised that this was creators teasing audience, remember mother praying to " god of stability"?/ but then they made twist into story near ending and ...
They managed avoid so many jdrama cliche situations what repeat in every bit more mature romance dramas what isnt comedy....and it felt good.
Maybe it marks starting of new era in jdrama ? I really hope so.
I've been addicted to this one but it's not that great. It's far from realistic. First of all, it seems to be…
This drama is kinda owerpolished, cheesy and predictable. All goes "by book" - good ones are good and if they do even minor mistake, they accept punishment with smile...and of course Filial Piety here, there and everywhere, super high moral and teaching of Great Men. Evil ones are just evil and if they start do good deeds...they do it only for evil goals. All characters are like cut out from paper, thin and without any character development, dimensions or something what make them look like humans from flesh and blood.
It reminds fairytale or some folk legend but only reminds bc for this it is too packed up with " teachings of moral and filial piety"
Costymes and props are nice, soundtrack isnt annoying and on some moments there is smooth camerawork. Actors go with flow, they dont try make characters more interesting but try stay on frames, in this they have kinda good teamwork, nobody sticks out and level is even. I dont say that acting is bad or wooden, it is bit ceremonial and outlined but actually for this type drama this style is fitting.
But somehow all this makes current drama....shiny yet royally boring.
With fast forwards help it can be bearable if you are just curious about cdrama or want to be spoonfeed.
p.s. they use wires but im thankful that it occurs very rarely and action parts are just "artfully" coreographed.
I agree, writing was so low level that it was painful, directing was so clumsy and seems that cast was in total confusion about their roles - everyone tried to make something from nothing.
I endured only few episodes and desided to wait until it ends to see from reactions does it improved....seems that i can place it from OnHold to Dropped.
It is good. It is black comedy a la Korea...so plot can be cliche but how it is served to you...it is fresh and original.
In Korea make this kind drama with comedy genre and this kind themes is very risky business and borderline balancing.
umm....not very tempted by any of them but i might give a try for few among them, like first 2-4 eps. and decide then does i watch or drop.
All plots feel so "same old - same old" and any cast doesnt seem very promising.
Still... sometimes surprises happen.
