I was looking forward to this.. but as a fan of the manga and the taiwanese drama the japanese adaption is disappointing.…
I agree with you both. Writer and actors must be yber geniuses to fit all this story into this short timeframe....already this predicts doom.
But people who arent seen tdrama or read manga are kinda happily positve - it is so sweet and cute story ....and this makes me sad.

It was bit this way, i agree but at least i got from her some vibes of Kira from manga....so there is room for improvement.
She is bit too sheerfull and lively but I think she tries compensate for main male who is very bland......or maybe it is will/consept of director.
Episodes are so short that seems they have rushed all story, there isnt time for character development, so they must start already with different feeling ...what is sad.

On MARS - Tada, Kimi wo Aishiteru Jan 30, 2016
Already first 5 minutes showed me that main male lead doesnt fit role, he just lack essence of Rei.
There was try to compensate it with some bold behaviour what wasnt in manga and in tdrama.....but it backfires - mutilates tone of story.
That actor just doesnt have in him what takes to play Rei.......hidden darkness and childish honesty, wildness of burning. He is just little comfy flame....with kinda medicore acting skills and bad hairdo.

Main female lead is ok. and seems that ones for supporting and villiain roles are more or less ok too....

p.s. that birdnest on head of male lead made me laugh every time when i saw it....they have weird stylist there whos imagination about Rei's hairdo is comical
But this is one flaw what Japanese shoujo dramas all have - weird hairdos on male actors who are idols with poor acting skills.

- one ep more and if main male starts really act I watch it, if not I drop it.

I'm really looking forward to this drama. I love the manga and Kubota Masataka but I think they should've chosen…
I agree......at first glance - visual fit is weak and if watch to acting styles...it feels even weaker. But lets wait and see, maybe they can surprise audience this time and really act seriously. Plus - a lot depends from director of drama. If directing is poor then with this cast all drama falls a part.
T-adaptaion was very strong, so there isnt big hopes up but at least i hope they dont ruin it completely.
Of course - for hardcore fans of thous artist....it is big hype-drama.

I've heard so many great things about this drama and the cast is amazing but 50 episodes? Uuuuuuuugh.
"Average 16 episode dramas already seem too draggy for me..."
Yes, average 16 ep. kdrama is usually more or less draggy at some point
But there is difference between average kdrama and SFD bc SFD isnt average, it is high quality one, so you can forgot all comparing with:"average", "usual", "majority", "general" .
I dont force you to watch bc everyone has personal taste and this is perfectly OK but you compare potatoes with apples and think that they taste same.

Really like it so far, the main reason I wasn't into most seaguk's is the politics and this one just grabbed my…
His marriage was political, nothing to do with feelings, she knows it, he knows it and his wife knows it.
Was very common in older times not only in Korea but everywhere. Marriage and love were different things and people from higher rankings married for ties, position, wealth a.s.o.
Aristocrats had side wives for feelings, poorer pepole couldnt aford more than one, official wife. In old Korea there was family life very different from what is now.

Still few traditions here and there have remained, like rich people marring to partners what parents chose and need of parents approval to marry. Even nowdays youngsters dont marry if parents of one side dont approve this marriage.

Back to old times .... so, saying that he loves her and she loved him is weird, when he marries other girl, is not right bc she doesnt have status/ and she even didnt have family name, so she had very-very low status, person without roots / they never cant marry bc his family never approve this marriage but he can take her to be side wife e. concubine what is official status but lower status than wife by marriage. Still kids from this relationship have right of succession if official wife doesnt have sons or kids at all.
Even for this role she needs to rise her status a lot and bit of it have already happened, her brother got name for himself and she like sister can share it if brother allows. So for this time, in old Korea, it wasnt strange or weird or lame.....it is just like it was back then.

It is so good that episodes fly by like in blink of eye and when you reach to last episode ......you think - too short, i want more. I felt this way with Empress Ki and this drama has similar qualities.

I love to hate and hate to love Gil Tae Mi. I mean, how could you completely hate a man who loves swordplay, breakfast,…
He had twin so we could see actor again a least....but sadly without eyeliner now.
This was very good role making, character was so believable and not one sided. Reason why we loved to hate and hated to love Gil Tae Mi.

On Falling in Love with a Rival Aug 30, 2015
I havent read novel.
For BL dramas and movies bit clumsi acting is usual but here ...acting was so poor that even if there was story....it vanished, character and relationship development - there is none.
And i daubt that there was any even littlebit professional directing or scriptwriting, all was so amateurish. Romantic moments were so raw and stiff that you cant name them romantic ...only pluss is that it didnt fall into porn or total smut.
Maybe in novel story is good but this drama is failure, there are many BL dramas/movies what have a lot higher quality.
