I just noticed how cute the headtilts of captain Jo Young are. Any time he's mildly curious he'll do a slight headtilt and it fits so well since it shakes up his serious character with a little bit of cuteness.

BL Lakorns can go much further with product-placement. However, they often make it into fanservice moments so…
No problem! Glad to hear you're interested in BL-dramas! Yeah Korea usually doesn't allow BL-shows which is why the kdrama and BL communities are relatively seperate from each other. Currently a K-BL drama is almost airing called ''Where Your Eyes Linger'' so that could be a major breakthrough.

I would suggest starting off lightly with a BL-drama like SOTUS or 2gether (both on Youtube) as those are pretty mainstream. These shows are very light in their romance and don't have too much fanservice. If you don't mind the fanservice at all, go to Why R U.

Besides that I would recommend checking out the Chinese drama ''The Untamed'' if you want a current look at BL-developments in China. It's not quite BL but it has basically been adopted into the BL-community since the novel is very much BL. Again, if you don't mind fanservice you can watch the c-drama ''Addicted:Heroin'' for a bit more romance.

Oh no it's fully my mistake. I always assume most MDL-users know about BL lakorns but some people do tend to keep within the kdrama fandom.

So, basically, ''lakorns'' is what dramas from Thailand are called. I'd recommend trying out lakorns sometime, it can be refreshing to learn about a new culture.

You've probably heard of bromance (guys being friendly) but there's another genre. ''BL'' stands for boys love which is basically reffering to shows focussed on romance between two young guys. So like kdrama romance but only with guys.

BL is found in many Asian countries but Thailand is currently the biggest producer with hit-series like SOTUS (2016) and 2gether (2020). BL also has a large community on MDL and many sub-cultures regarding the type of shows. Other terms for BL include danmei (Chinese BL with gorgeous men), shounen-ai (Japanese BL with romance) and yaoi (Japanese BL that includes intimate scenes).

The product placement can get overwhelming but I kind of enjoy the fact they don't give a F about it lol. Also,…
BL Lakorns can go much further with product-placement. However, they often make it into fanservice moments so people care way less.

Make a new drama with just captain Jo Young, emperor Yi Gon, detective Gang Shin Jae and comedic Jo Eun Sub trying to work together. These guys are honestly the highlights of this drama.

I was wondering how this could've come from Korea, then I saw the strongberry comment and everything made sense. One of the only sources of BL in Korea.

If they don't do the following type of scene then I'm gonna be disappointed:Jo Young going to the police station…
Definitely not, which is what would make it great. Jo Young either refuses to act like an easygoing guy or he fails badly at acting like one.

EUNSEOP AND JOYOUNG MEETING WAS THE BEST PART OF THE EPISODE I NEED MORE SCENES OF THEM TOGETHER
If they don't do the following type of scene then I'm gonna be disappointed:
Jo Young going to the police station disguised as Eun Sub and confusing all the co-workers.

I keep hearing so many good things about this show but constantly hesitate because of the episode count and BL…
There is no BL in the Untamed, only some bromance thanks to censorship. So if that's holding you back then go watch it. The episode count really won't matter once you get comfortable with the story, trust me.

Ok, a question:I have the book, this drama and the anime version. Which would you say is the best? which one would…
Depends on your preference. I started out with the animation but got extremely confused thanks to the flashbacks and read the manga for more context. Then I watched the entire anime but it didn't cover the entire story yet so I went to the drama on Youtube. I watched the entire drama and went to read the novel afterwards because it has less censorship.
I think once you catch The Untamed obsession you'll just try to consume any content possible.

You obviously did not read the review, and only want to hear your own thoughts.
Well at the very least you do agree with equal rights as it seems. But why after Jewish people and Indians are you trying to involve Christians now? Most Western Christians don't even know Asian bromance or BL's exist, it has no impact on the majority of them.
Also, why can't we have cultural heritage AND gay couples? I've learned about Thai culture thanks to BL's.

I don't think you get how this Chinese drama became popular in the first place. You think some shady elite-group was promoting this? You're mistaken. It was the vast amounts of online Chinese BL-fans/yaoi fans/bromance fans that went out of their way to support this series. This series has had tons of problems but BL-fans were there to guide the story like literally telling producers to stop with enforced straight romance.

So for your final points. Just love your own culture and accept others, isn't that the right way to deal with the world for everyone?
I don't usually like hiphop either but everyone has their own music-tastes. I personally love kpop a lot more, here's 2 songs I can recommend to you:

There's few things in life more dangerous than trying to disturb a BL-fans content. We've encountered enough censorship. I stand with you against the homophobic dude.

Thanks for the article! There's always been debate on whether The Untamed is bromance or BL since it's so difficult to categorize. It's more than bromance but not quite BL.

Almost every BL-fan loves The Untamed despite the lack of intimacy. The way that the main characters of The Untamed look at each other has such meaning that words don't even have to be spoken. In my opinion it should be categorised with a new title like soulmance. I guess body swap dramas have also kinda played with the concept of soulmance but I never really felt the need to identify it seperately until The Untamed came along with their chemistry.
So for me LZ and WWX are soulmates and their love was a soulmance.
