Title The Kidnapping Day Spoiler
I wonder if there are any people here who read the book, because there are a certain things ( one character in…
I find Hye Eun character inconsistent and her behaviour is hard to understand.
So, she cheated to get adopted. That, by the way, implies that Myuong Jun is more clever than her. How he became later to be like this is a bit strange.
Anyway, one can argue that she got more clever because of the experiment that improved her, but not to the desired level.
But, later she marries him and they have a child. There are no indications that she was a bad mother before leaving. She even said she left because she didn't want her daughter to be stigmitised, and wanted to spare Myung Joon the emotional dilemma. That shows she cared for both. But, her later actions are completely different. So, was she lying?
Also, I am totally puzzled that the daughter didn't recognise her when she woke up from surgery (unless this is a translation mistake). I mean she must have been around 8 when she left. That doesn't make sense at all.
Her indifference towards her daughter is really strange. yes, some parents are horrible towards their kids, but we haven't been shown any reason for that. She might be greedy and bitter, but she is not a complete whacko.
I also don't fully understand why trying to frame Myuong Jun for murder by asking to kidnapp the girl? Why she hated him so much?
Surely, getting him involved and trying to frame him is much worse than just letting the girl wake up on her own.

More in the spoiler.

What an amazing young talented actress Yuna is, the end of episode 11 made me cry buckets of tears/ its bloody…
The end of Ep11 made me cry as well. That was high emotions. Genius or not, she is a child.
Even if they didn't make me cry, I would say the court sppech about freedom was also very powerful , and the backscratcher as you mentioned.
Not all child actors make a successful transition to adult ones, but I think she has a very high chance.
She actually acted well and had fantastic chemistry with her co-star. The praise she is getting is really more performance related rather than for being a cute child.

is this good?
"Good" is not the same for everybody.
But, I believe it is very good. It is a multi-genre series, but its best feature is the relationship between the kidnapper and the child (not spoiler. the kidnapping happens very early, and it is in the title).
So, in the middle of the mystery, chases, deaths, it is really a simple story about the evolution of that relationship. The main duo are fantastic together. Like most kdramas, this will put you through all emotions.
I would say watch it. It is also nicely paced without dragging.

I absolutely HATE this post credit sequence stuff, whether it is in this one, or other ones.If their aim was making…
I totally agree with you.
The chemistry and dynamics between the lead is the heart and soul of the series.
I knew it was based on a novel, but didn't know it is a series of books. It is a mitagating circumstances lol.
Either way, I will not watch. One of the biggest appeals of Kdrama to me is the one season format.

This was really very good show (minus the post credit section which was needless, and it had the opposite effect on me than what creators/network wanted).
I throughly enjoyed it. YKS & Yuna were SOO good together. Without their chemistry the series wouldn't have been that good.

Definitely one of the best of 2023! Curious which direction it will go with that cliffhangar if they decide to…
I absolutely HATE this post credit sequence stuff, whether it is in this one, or other ones.
If their aim was making me want more, then they achieved the opposite. Now I have to forget that sequence that certainly decreased my overall satisfaction
Personally, I will just ignore it. If they make a second season I will not watch.

After 10 episodes.
A tiny part of me feel sorry for Jaden hahaha. He is really having a rough time as well.
I have to say that Park Sung Hoon looks much better as a cop than a bully.

2 more episodes.

that's not the gangster from Squid game
I think he is.
He wasn't the main one, but he was part of the gang.
He played the marbles game with the "main" gangster.

Title Loving Strangers Spoiler
yes! I hope they amp up the romance
I respectfully disagree.
What made "My Mister" unique is that their relationship wasn't romantic (at least not for him)
The beauty of it is the human connection and love between people that transcend the physical.
Had they ended up together it would still have been fantastic series, but it would have lost some of its magic.
....and btw, I have nothing against age gap. I don't think it is ideal, but if both parties are willinglly going into it, who am I to object?

So the bully from The Glory and the gangster from Squid Game are the main detective and his boss. What a turnaround lol.
After 6 episodes, I am really enjoying this very much. Good mix of thriller/mystery, humour, and emotions. The kid & the kidnapper have such a great chemistry.

Another Miss Oh..unfortunately, I didn't like 80% of the comedy and found it very cringe. Th sister scenes when it was trying to be funny gave me second hand embarrasement. The brother and his GF were SUPER annoying. BUT, the leads (especially FL) were great, and when it was about them, or when they had conversations it was fantastic. I am glad that PHY stopped doing that silly humour.

My Mister..a genuine masterpiece. My favourite drama in ANY language. I wish the script was in English. I would love to read it.

My Liberation Notes...Very good, but not as good as My Mister. The dialogues (or the silence) and contemplations were awsome as usual. I also liked the humour in this one .

Title Beyond Evil
I don't think this show is that good. 16 episodes was way too much and kinda ruined it for me. Should have wrapped…
My EXACT feeling.
I would say even 12 is too much. 10 is enough.
I was bored out of my mind the entire second half. I am not genius or anything, but I thought it was VERY obvious who is the culprit.
Yes, I didn't know the how, but it really wasn't that hard to guess, and the show didn't make it very hard either.

At mid point, I find it solid, but below expectations.
The central duo are good though.
I like Chung Sun Eun (from The Sound of Magic) she is a fantastic crier lol.

I'm planning to watch this for Lee Min Ki. Can anybody who has watched this drama tell me how is he in this?
This is not your typical drama.
it is VERY heavy on dialogues and contemplations. If you like this sort of things then you will at very least like it very much (it is by the same author My Mister if you have watched that one).
Lee Min Ki character is like a real person. Personally, I think he is the one who has changed most during the course of the series. I started the series being annoyed by him, but by the end he was actually good.

Will...I Cry? I need something to make me cry at least
Hmm.
I would suggest you watch "My Mister" if you want a good cathartic cry lol.
MLN made me tear up little bit few times, but nothing in comparisson with rivers of tears during "My Mister" lol.
My Mister & MLN are written by the same author.
But, please be aware that the pace is REALLY slow, especially MLN.
In MLN you get some fairly long scenes where characters don't say anything. They just eat, or just walk.
My Mister, and even more with MLN you really must like and enjoy the writing to be able to continue. Otherwise, it is boring.
This writer has some amazing dialogues, introspectives and contemplations.
On personal level, "My Mister" is my favourite show of all time. Not just Korean, but in any language. (Only drama on MDL I gave 10)
My Liberation Notes is very good, but it is lacking in some areas. About 8-8.5
