I am torn. Personally, I didn't like Strong Girl Do Bong Soon and dropped it after 2 episodes evnthough I like main actress. This is probably different, but I have superhero fatigue from the amount of American series and movies I have watched. Not sure I can take more for a very long time. But, on the other hand I REALLY want to support Lee You Mi, who I thought was simply amazing in Squid Game. I thought her acting was much better than Jung Ho Yeon (btw..I have NOTHING against her. In the interviews she is very charming, endearing and humble).
Personally, I would say it is happy and satsfying ending. But, you have to remember that this is a time travel story, so you might not find it 100% happy ending.
You are right in principle. But, some actors can do it better than others. I think the biggest problem is that shows like this one, or 25, 21 you have almost the entire story set during high school. If you cast teenagers you are unlikely to get as good performances from them. Also, the show is not going to attract any attention with unknown teenage actors. TV shows are business at the end.
Rather than calling it confusing.. i will call it messy. The main plot was good but they made it messy by adding…
I would say the same goes for Ingyu. He also loved Minju for who she is and wasn't as excited about Junhee despite her more outgoing and more attractive personality (at least for the majority) I might be in minority, but I actually felt much more for Minju, and I wished we spent more time to see things from her perspective.
I'm a huge OG fan and yet I would recommend everyone to give this a shot. This is an adaption for a reason, faithful…
I agree that FL was clearly better than everybody else. She was excellent in the last episode. ML is not bad. He is a decent actor that does the job we ll enough, but I don't consider him amongst the better ones.
After the past has changed, the time line would be something like this.: After the acar accident, MinJu and Inguy would most likely end up together, althought that is implied rather than spelled out (The bench scene in last episode). SiHeon, kept the memories of the alternate timeline, but didn't physically meet adult Junhee until the last few scenes (on the bus & and the street) JunHee although met SiHeon very briefly as a child, went on to live a completely different life without meeting Yeon Jun. yeonJun died in the accident with his friend.
Final words: Don't try too hard to tie everything. This type of stories/plotlines always need a big dose of tolerance. The series IMO had lots of qualities even if the plot had some logic gaps.
I really enjoyed this series. Time travel stories always have a certain weakness in logic no matter how good they are. In this one I felt it was fairly good. There is mystery, romance, and frienship. But, also it tackles some very serious issues like loss, grieve, and self esteem. And, like most Kdrama it is emotional. Jeon Yeo Been (FL) was very good. She was head and shoulders above everyone else. Her scene in the last episode in front of the mirror was SO good! Also, the lyrics of the theme song are great!
I am really enjoying this. I mean it is doing my heading, but Time Travel is one of my top favourite tropes, so I have been enjoying the ride. I don't think AHS is great actor, but whether in Business Proposal, or here, he does the job. I like the FL acting much more. She displays a wide range.
season 2? why couldn't they finish everything in one season? i'd rather that than dividing a drama to different…
If you watch S2, you will get S3. If you are happy with multi-seaosns format then good for you. Sooner or later that what Netflix will do to all Kdrama they produce. But, if you hate that format then you have to start with yourself and boycot S2 to send a message.
I'm getting fed up with western media companies that invest in producing foreign dramas, forcing their way of…
I am with you 100%. I stopped watching American TV because of the multi-seasons format. Unfortunately, I am seeing more and more Kdrama having this. I must say though, that ultimately, it is the viewers fault. As long as people keep watching season after season companies will keep doing it. Luckily I still have some back catalog, but I would rather watch old finished series rather new ones with multi seasons.
How does it ruin season 1? Nobody is forcing you to watch season 2
Ok. I am just frustrated with the phenomen in general, and maybe not to this specific series. I escaped to Kdrama because they have one season, but I am seeing more and more of them getting second (and potentially more) season. Please don't tell me just don't watch it lol. I know that. I am not going to watch it, but i can't close my eyes and ears. Information about subsequent seasons of popular series are everywhere.
I agree, one of the reason I dropped western shows for Asian shows. With the way Disney destroyed the Star Wars…
Your initial statement is correct. But, don't you see the irony of complaining about generalisation, while you conclude the Kdrama fans are pure toxic? :). Not, everyone is toxic. In every fandom, you will find all type of people.
How does it ruin season 1? Nobody is forcing you to watch season 2
True, but you can't avoid the noise and information. I am British, and I have been living with American multiple season system. I would say 70% of the time subsequent seasons are not as good as the original. The one season format of K-drama is one of its best features. Sadly, now that Americans got in this will slowly change. *Sigh*
I had doubts at first too, as I am also quite tired of the superhero theme. But it's definitely still a Korean…
Thank you. I appreciate that. From your and other peoples answers I might give it another try. I don't hate American dramas. I watched them for decades, but Kdramas touch my feelings in a way that American shows manage it only in rare ocassion. Hell, even romantic comedies make me tear up lol. But, if the series also has heart and emotional attachment rather than just action, then I might give it another chance.
Fyi, the story plot is completly different from the Western superpower shows. So it's not the superhero genre…
Ok. Thank you. That is good to know. I didn't feel that from e1, because it had very strong American shows vibes not in genre only, but in storytelling as well. But, I might be wrong. I might watch 2 or 3 episodes more if it is really different.
Dropped after Episode 1. It is perefctly watchable show, and there is nothing wrong with it. But, I want to watch Korean drama, not American one set in Korea with Korean actors. Based on ratings, I am clearly in very small minority though. Btw, I am not upset, or anything. Good forpeople if they are enjoying it. I am just praying the Kdrama don't go the same route as American and get populated with superheros and season 6 of this and season 7 of that.
DUH!!! This was the best drama of the year but didn't win Baeksang 💀
I stopped caring about awards like Oscars and Emmys decades ago. This is no different. I am just happy for the individuals, but they mean nothing to me.
