Where this drama stands if compared with the director's other works like My Mister and Misaeng ??
My Mister is certainly better in almost everything imo.
My Mister writing is certainly superior and deeper.
But, I enjoyed this a bit more than Misaeng.
This one is more relatable because it concentrate a lot on relationships between parents and children. And just general life.

wow. this I the highest rated drama on this app. that good?
Ratings are subjective. Also there is rating inflation.
It is however a very good drama if you like dramas about life. It is largely realistic (still drama of course).
If you are looking for cutesy romantic fluff, it is not for you.
Personally, I don't think it is best Kdrama, but I can fully understand it, and I am not even upset about it.

FINALLY! The 50 minute long Commentary with ENG SUB is available on YT! The main cast and the director talking…
It is hard to know for real though.
He is working for Netflix, appearing in a Netflix programm, and it is showed on Netflix channel.
What do you expect?
I watched the commentary, everyone was praising everyone. It is expected. Ultimately this is a promotional video, and we shouldn't take everything in it as face value.
It is interesting for some little behind the scene info.
P.S: All that said, I am NOT saying the translation wasn't good. I don't speak Korean. But we shouldn't trust a promotional video too much.

I cant believe there are people who actually rated 1 for this drama. Shame on you people for not knowing how to…
Don't be so harsh on people :)
It is strange to give this low score (Cinematography alone deserves few stars)but people are different.
But, I also find it very strange to call this slow with no plot. I agree with you, it is very fast, and if anything, has too much plot.

Last episode: One and half hour of constant tears.
I really liked the series. It is certainly one of the best Kdramas I have ever seen.
I don't consider it the best though(For me-that is My Mister), and I am still not sure if it gets in my personal top 10.
BUT, unlike some other dramas, I FULLY understand why it could be considered as the best, and I will not argue a lot against that.
It was such a fantastic one.
This director is just amazing and phenomenal: Miseang, My Mister, and now WLGYT!

PLEASE no spoilers!

I just started watching this. I have watched 2 episodes so far.
My question: Is this episodical with an over-arching thread? (a bit like Extraordinary Attorney Woo)

because I know the actor Lee Jun Ho from the modern drama King the Land and I liked him a lot, I wanted to watch…
You can watch , but stop at episode 16. If the series ended at E16, it would have been happy ending.
But, E17 is very painful and more or less mirror the history.
I suppose you can take heart that they had 6 or 7 years together.

And this is how you start and finish a 12 eps drama! No added bs, no love triangle, no unwanted drama! It had…
Agreed.
For a moment I was worried that we are going to get the useless and manufactured break up, but thankfully, it was resolved quickly and in a believable way.

Nothing revolutionary, or unique about it.
However, it executes its tropes very well. Great chemistry between leads. Very good side characters/stories. Great pacing. Very satsfying ending.
As a purely romantic drama, it is one of the best I have seen. I had really great time.
8.5/10

P.S: I think the tags are missing Sci/Fi. The Male lead is certainly an Alien from outer space, because I doubt very much such men exist on Earth lol.

Like some others here, I wish there would be a second season. Some stories within the show can be developed and…
I would say the opposite.
One of the big strengths of this series is that it was only 12 episodes and didn't drag.
Of course you can stretch most series for more seasons, but you are more likely than not ruin things.
We just had a romance series that executed its premise and tropes very well. We had great and wonderfull time and very satsfying ending.
let's just saviour it.
More seasons are not going to give you the same feelings.

It is a reason, but frankly even 2 extra episodes in Argan wouldn't have changed my mind.If anything, it might…
"or because I was already in a zen space of "why the fuck not" with this show." hahaha
It seems to me that we don't disagree that much.
It just that you happend to be in "why the fuck not" zone, and I wasn't lol :)

Writer's notes on the Argan arc in ep 12:-The last episode shows Hong Hee-joo leaving for Argan in search of Baek…
It is a reason, but frankly even 2 extra episodes in Argan wouldn't have changed my mind.
If anything, it might made it worse. At least now we had only little bit of it.

My objection to that arc is "structural". It is not the execution. I found his transformation from a civil servant to Rambo very, very off putting because it doesn't fit with the rest of the series.
I have accepted even more bonker plots and enjoyed them if it is that kind of story. But, the series wasn't like those where the hero goes through an army on his own and we just enjoy the ride.

You might say that was in the source material. Well, a good scriptwriter/director team know what to adapt and what not. The show must stands on its own. So, this is on the director for lacking good judgment.

Hmmm. Interesting about the phone calls.I also thought the phone calls were the best thing, but at the beginning…
Fair enough.
Personally, I am highly unlikely to watch anything from it again.
But, the cast did really well. The leads have a good chemistry which made it watchable.

I've been dodging reading the comment or looking in social media to avoid spoilers. I have to say I'm at episode…
Yup!
First few episodes were very good with some really intriguing, gripping and very promising set up.
Then around the 6th episode things started to go gradually worse. It is almost like they abandoned the original premise, and just reverted to the usual stuff, but only with medicore execution.

Unfortuantely, you have to brace yourself, the final stretch is the worst.

I so badly wanted to love this drama. Even with the adult steamy makeout seshs by the leads which I do give them…
Hmmm. Interesting about the phone calls.

I also thought the phone calls were the best thing, but at the beginning when he didn't know. That was when the tension and intrigue was at the highest. Especially that first call!
That first one was awsome! I wish they had run with that!
The first crack about this series for me was when she sent him her picture. That was SOOOO illogical! That picture must have been taken from a very close proximity. And, why exactly he didn't look?
...and her subsequent calls started to become more and more specific in details, but much more reconciliatry in tone, almost imploring and pleading. That is hardly the behaviour of a blackmailer.
It was still somewhat enjoyable, but I had to dig VERY DEEP in my suspension of disbelief reserves.

What's the point exactly? Getting a second season for Signal is normal given how the series ended/not ended but…
I had to pinch myself to see if I am real or clone lol.
Rarely someone has exactly the same opinion as me.

All I can do is not watching, just like I am not watching Squid Game sequels.
I am also very reluctant to start a new Kdrama if it is fully produced by an American company.
I have been saying this for a while now.
Kdrama needs to watch itself, otherwise it will turn into American drama just with Korean actors and locations, and at that moment what is the point of watching it?. We might as well go back to the original.
