I don’t think Pio really wanted to choke him, I think his helplessness in the face of his inability to win his abusive family’s approval despite spending his life trying to and making it his all identity almost and Jeongyo succeeding by only existing (inconciously felt by Pio as Jeongyo threatening Pio's "existence"/reason for living), and his guilt, self-loathing and fear from feeling such jealousy towards Jeongyo for it, manifested like that.

We saw them kiss but it indeed looked more like CPR like the actress said and I do think that it was a sort of a CPR, she litteraly saved Pio who was drowning in despair after learning of Jeongyo's death ....
This is a truly interesting question, and I see several possibilities here, but in any case, the core conflict…
2. I don’t think he could completely give up playing piano for long without the dramatic event of JY kidnapping or something similar, I think he would have dropped competition,, but I agree with the rest.
3. I don’t think him lashing out at JY would ever last in any universe even despite his inner insecurity... It never really did. He was just prickly and moody.
I do think Pio's words at Jeongyo had some truth in them too because he actually thought about it but to me, these thoughts clearly looked like intrusive thoughts. He had a trauma due to the abusive family that raised him and was afraid of himself and of his jealousy towards Jeongyo, even more so as he cared more and more deeply about him.
And since all of this negativity didn’t stem from Pio's deepest desires and needs, since he actually never really wanted to be number 1 deep down, he just loved piano, but his abusive family's he loved and whose love and approval he longed for, I think he would have grown out of it eventually, especially since he himself saw Jeongyo as his light and hope, as his refuge too, someone nobody could replace, and loved him. He was actually already beginning to progressively break free from his family’s cage before the kidnapping thanks to Jeongyo's influence, which was also partly why Pio's mother hated Jeongyo so much...
Someone said on Twitter that JeongPio relationship was similar to the main lead’s relationship in Secret Love (2013). Have you guys watched this ? What do you think ?

But what about Justice in the dark with Japan then ? One of the main lead, Zhang Xin Cheng, was recently in another drama with Ding Yu Xi, "Archives : the Nanyang Mistery", so it didn’t affect his career...

Actually I'm suprised that all these actors are so famous now and not blacklisted for acting in these dramas... Especially Gong Jun after Word of Honor cuz this one was anything but subtile about the BL aspect....
This seems specific to China cuz I don’t think an actor in a BL K-drama could become famous after that, or maybe it’s just my impression ? But at the same time, censorship of BL contents in China seems way more severe. That doesn’t make much sence to me.

Honestly, I thought Winner is King had more chances to be released than the others one day, we've been pretty lucky with the adaptations of Priest’s novels until now...

Do you remember Justice in the dark ? Only 8 episode were aired and it stayed unfinished for years and suddenly in 2024 or 2025 22 others episodes followed.
