The cp is a loyal person but he's not suitable to lead a country or being a leader. His mindset is wrong too. You can be loyal to your family but not to the point that you turn blind eyes to their wrongdoing. That is an irresponsible kind of attitude that could lead to a disaster in the future. Even LBY can see though the cp action & what will happen in the future due to that.
On various china site they labeled LLTG as period ensemble family drama not pure romance drama like other idol…
If this is the case, i feel that I'm being cheated. What's the point of being the main lead if the story doesn't focus at least 2/3 of the drama about them. Feels like barely 1/3 of the drama focus on main couple, others 2/3 are about the peoples around them. Don't get me wrong, i do love watching this drama and some of the others characters are interesting too, but it is frustrating not able to watch the main couple interactions, and when they do get alone together, rather than being lovey dovey, they end up arguing most of the time due to their differences in personality.

LBY just straight up telling CSS that when he love someone, he will give his whole heart & love that person forever, however if his feeling is not reciprocate, he rather stop loving that person & move on with his life.
Listening to what Consort Yue said, the emperor surely owed the Huo family a lot. Not only the emperor but the whole royal family. They will never exist/ being born if its not because of Huo family. LBY is sure a very decent young man, all his achievements and glory he gain thru his own effort & hard work, unlike the others who only depends on their father/ grandfather achievements & keep bringing up the past just to gain something without any effort.

LBY is so serious all the time but at the same time he's quite funny. What was he thinking bringing all his guard when visiting his future-in-law, its normal for the whole family to be terrified.

He acts like a sore loser that anything involve CSS. From what I see he's a controlling jerk who like to control everything around him including any women (in this case CSS) he interested with. I kind of pity of whoever women who end up marrying him.
The only thing that I dislike about part 1 is the lack of interaction between the 2 main lead. I feel that if I added the interaction time between them, it will barely cover 4 or 5 episodes.
