I think they may be paving the way for their next dramas. Only people who stare at the data and industry insiders will know that TLP heat is being suppressed , they probably want their next drama to ‘explode’ and they don’t want TLP to break all the records.
That’s the explanation I saw from some non-fans who analyse this sudden Tencent bug. It only started after TLP aired

unless, of course, one is used to stupid dramas with overacting and no logic in characters or plot, this drama is not for those who prefers brainless romance

It’s a xianxia drama, so it has all the tropes that come with the genre . As for the new stuff it brings, I’d say this drama is probably the first xianxia I have seen where characters actions are logical and the plot makes perfect sense.
