I have never seen Tencent treat an S+ drama like this. Not only there was no announcement or preheating before airing, but they still haven’t posted about it on YouTube and are not sharing new episodes there either. Most people simply don’t know The Longest Promise has aired and it’s simply not available to those who don’t have WeTV , zero alternatives . I have never seen such behaviour from Tencent or other platforms towards their biggest dramas

I know these actresses and I agree that some of them are great but they are not the ones typical xianxia audiences normally ‘cast’ to as xianxia beauties in dramas. I don’t want to name any names and cause fan wars here. Just want to say that among the younger’flowers’ renmin was a good choice imo

Maybe we have different standards then, that’s ok. I can hardly think of any conventionally beautiful actresses in cdramas that have acting chops to match. Maybe only NiNi and a couple others. But that’s ok, I find this casting very refreshing
