I like the actors and their kisses, but it's just way too short to really get attached to the characters? It's more like a sweet little treat to turn of your brain in between other series if you know what I mean 😂 I guess the uncut version would be a bit more spicy, but probably not really more engaging in terms of the story😂 But since I watched the first drama "Love Reset" with the same pairing , it's kinda nice to get the backstory how their rlship started.

Really hard to decide whether I loved or hated it. The republic era - fantasy mix is interesting and I got lured in by a clip of ML's cool wings. Though I got disappointed bcs they never appear again after 2 eps or so, I stayed bcs I just love the ML's acting and I kinda enjoyed the whole overdramatic vibe. But it gets a bit repetitive and trying to follow the story was way too difficult, making me feel like watching 24eps of this only for the ML was a waste of time.
+ Acting. Especially the ML is just a pleasure to watch!😍 + OST. The ending song in particular + Styling. Someone said the clothing's too tryhard, but I actually enjoyed looking at their outfits (esp. when the story got kinda boring) 😅
+/- Directing. Either you like it or you hate it. Though I generally enjoy that style, I think they could have toned down the dramatic camera shots a bit and focused more on telling the story in a clear way. +/- Ending. Kinda so-so, not sure what to make of it, made me think why did I even watch this
- Plot. The premise had potential, but the story was told in such a convulted way that in the end, I'm not sure I understood the backstory and the whole drama felt like going in circles, just to end up where you expected to end up from the start anyway. - Naive Characters. Some characters kept lying and others kept believing them without any second thought (or else we would have had max 10 eps)🤦♀️ Also, the constant changing of their words on what happened in the past, what the rules of Wujian are and what needs to happen to save everyone, made it incredibly difficult to understand the story. - Subtitles. At least where I watched even the translator got confused about the two perls and kept mixing up their names, which made it even harder to follow the story :/

Me, too! But unfortunately, in this drama's case they either had sound recording issues or the budget is so low that they don't have the right equipment to use the sound recorded at the set. Either way, they decided to dub over most what they've said even in the original language, so Korean. That the spoken audio doesnt match their mouth movement is bcs they failed to sync the audio or bcs they failed to record exactly the words they've said on video in the same speed. And that's just carelessness 😅

Riiight, the whole ep is soo Myeongcheol and Hyeonseo coded 🥰 I love love LOVE all the sweet scenes this ep. You probably didnt catch that but in the ep 3 BTS where Myeongcheol stands on the balcony, the caption says sth like "creating a picture" and he says sth like "I'm thinking about my childhood. I wonder why my mother left me that early. The grey weather fits my mood and it suddenly feels colder thinking about this" and at some other point he also said he is pushing Haejun away bcs he's scared of letting sb. too close or sth. Idk if it's the script or just Myeongcheol trying to build up Jaehun's character, but if there is more to his character's weird outbursts then I would really like to know and to understand 😭😭. This way it's just way too random 😭

You're one of the especially strong soldiers! 😂👏👏 This ep started out so tame, I almost thought I'm watching the wrong show, but behold... - Jaehun's at it again. He has some serious issues. Now I'm almost 100% sure he isn't BDSM/dominance, but more into killing Haejun with his eyes instead. I even agree with him being angry here, bcs wasting food isn't cute at all, but more pseudo-waterboarding won't help teach Haejun anything, except that diluting overly salty food with water is a good idea maybe? Questionable teaching style, but ok🤷♀️ - Also, are those "mood swings" rubbing off on Haejun or why does he say all smiling "everything you give me is sweet", just to then turn around and say "as if" while looking really pissed? 👀 - I love their sweet scenes, but when 10 sec ago somebody's waterboarded for no reason I get some serious trust issues... at least those two seem to be made for each other. I tried really hard, but no matter how high I put my volume, the music is just too loud to hear what they're saying 😭😭 this damn elevator music🤦♀️ I even went to the official insta acc again, bcs on one clip I noticed that the music-sound-mix was better there, but for this ep.'s BTS they didnt even include this part on the insta clip😕 The only good thing is that, while searching their feed, I found a really cute clip of Myeongcheol offering his shoulder for Hyeonseo to rest his head on. They posted it on November 4th, if you want to look for it 🤭
Btw I watched the 3 of 4 eps of First Page that are out till now. And Myeongcheol surprised me again, that man can act! It all feels soo natural and is just great when he has a better script! There are different systems and especially when it comes to names, it's all over the place. Like here on MDL their names are Haejun and Jaehun, but it could also be romanized as Haejoon/Jaehoon 😵💫 But the funniest thing is that he tried to get back into his dominant character after that and kept asking what he should do with Haejun who made a spelling mistake🤣 You cannot fool us Myeongcheol, you're too whipped for him to do anything to him 🤭

Both have their issues and they somehow found each other bcs of those 💔 I just wished they didn't make such a short drama with such complex character backgrounds or if they decided to, I wished they had explored those more. 1. is from "Addicted", another great BL. Idk if you watched it, but I feel like this song fits JaehunxHaejun so damn well. I almost cried watching ep 9 with that as bgm. That's the vibe I wanted from them🥹

3. is a gem I found bcs it was used as OST in a C-Short Drama.
4. If you watched "Nevertheless" you'll probably remember this one too.
But unfortunately, in this drama's case they either had sound recording issues or the budget is so low that they don't have the right equipment to use the sound recorded at the set. Either way, they decided to dub over most what they've said even in the original language, so Korean.
That the spoken audio doesnt match their mouth movement is bcs they failed to sync the audio or bcs they failed to record exactly the words they've said on video in the same speed. And that's just carelessness 😅

But I really have to say. I just hate the sudden waterboarding AGAIN 🙄 right, they make look Jaehun bipolar or as if he has Borderline Personality Disorder . Whatever it is, it's annoying bcs they didnt really give us any context, why he is that way (honestly it doesnt feel like a kink either, if it's just so out of context and out of no where without sexual tension building up before 😅). You probably didnt catch that but in the ep 3 BTS where Myeongcheol stands on the balcony, the caption says sth like "creating a picture" and he says sth like "I'm thinking about my childhood. I wonder why my mother left me that early. The grey weather fits my mood and it suddenly feels colder thinking about this" and at some other point he also said he is pushing Haejun away bcs he's scared of letting sb. too close or sth. Idk if it's the script or just Myeongcheol trying to build up Jaehun's character, but if there is more to his character's weird outbursts then I would really like to know and to understand 😭😭. This way it's just way too random 😭

If you get some planting tips from the one responsible for the set, let me know bcs I was seriously impressed by all the rooms being more of a natural biotope than a room to live in. Especially, the kitchen in ep 9 is a whole jungle 😂
This ep started out so tame, I almost thought I'm watching the wrong show, but behold...
- Jaehun's at it again. He has some serious issues. Now I'm almost 100% sure he isn't BDSM/dominance, but more into killing Haejun with his eyes instead. I even agree with him being angry here, bcs wasting food isn't cute at all, but more pseudo-waterboarding won't help teach Haejun anything, except that diluting overly salty food with water is a good idea maybe? Questionable teaching style, but ok🤷♀️
- Also, are those "mood swings" rubbing off on Haejun or why does he say all smiling "everything you give me is sweet", just to then turn around and say "as if" while looking really pissed? 👀
- I love their sweet scenes, but when 10 sec ago somebody's waterboarded for no reason I get some serious trust issues... at least those two seem to be made for each other. If I was Haejun I'd escape like the day before yesterday, but love my Stockholm syndrome I guess😵💫
- Weird voiceover. Again. It's fine to use voiceover if they're not talking, but why does the voiceover seamlessly turn into dubbing that sounds exactly the same and doesn't fit their mouth movements?? It's impossible to differentiate what's just thought and what's actual dialogue. Like yeah, it'd be a really sweet if they actually said those things aloud but WHO THE HELL KNOWS if they did?😀
- We finally get some sort of plot which is even connected to the character's poor/rich background... yay...?🥳😐 One ep to go to make nothing out of it 😐 (btw what happened to the text message from ep 5...🫥)
- Haejun, you asked how one piece of paper can cause so much pain. And I'd ask myself the same bcs Idk if you noticed... but I wouldn't put my mother into a hospital that has a form with NONEXISTENT words on it? THAT really pains me... 💀
(Or can somebody tell me what "yame" , "tuss" and "iotents" are? My dumbass actually went to look those words up in a dictionary, thinking my English might be lacking and surprisingly... I found ... ✨nothing✨
But no seriously, though I'm not the biggest fan of voiceovers and music only scenes, I'm kinda pleasantly surprised by today's ep. But maybe it's just my expectations and standards sinking with every ep. 😂😂😂
But I really liked their scenes today! I couldnt find the uncut version of First Page, neither on daily motion nor on other pages.. So I'm watching the cut one but it's okay. It's the prequel to Love Reset which I also watched cut and it was still enjoyable 😊

Btw I watched the 3 of 4 eps of First Page that are out till now. And Myeongcheol surprised me again, that man can act! It all feels soo natural and is just great when he has a better script! It's a bit weird to see him paired with another actor rn and I still prefer his styling in TOL, but man...this all makes me just so sad bcs it reminded me again what we missed out on bcs of this bad production quality. Now we can't even enjoy the BTS fully bcs of the damn loud music and the missing subs 😭😭

But to be fair, here it's not really about English but about Korean romanization. There are different systems and especially when it comes to names, it's all over the place. Like here on MDL their names are Haejun and Jaehun, but it could also be romanized as Haejoon/Jaehoon 😵💫
But the funniest thing is that he tried to get back into his dominant character after that and kept asking what he should do with Haejun who made a spelling mistake🤣 You cannot fool us Myeongcheol, you're too whipped for him to do anything to him 🤭

Hyeonseo has a picture of the same flowers on his insta feed on August 8th. I guess they were still working on Sweetheart Service together back then. I mean I get it they're disappointed that we were given such a great premise and were left hanging when it comes to the execution.
