Ok it seems like episode 13 is the pivotal point in the drama. I'll watch until then. I was hoping for a badass ML who gives off a "I don't give a fuck' attitude and was disappointed.

Not sure if you were here when the drama first aired. So many complaints about the FL from her voice, to her eyebrows, to her acting, just everything. It was crazy. Seriously I feel so sorry for c-drama actresses being bullied like that and this was from mainly international audience. I'm sure Chinese media were even more brutal.

He never lived away from them. He gets his own quarter but no one pay attention to him because no one treats him like family. He's like a stray they picked up and left to raise himself so he got alot of freedom to build his empire without anyone finding out.

I'm on episode 7 and the last few episodes took me a couple of days to complete. I was so excited with the first 3 episodes and I was expecting something totally different, dark and a bit sadistic. Was not expecting the direction it is heading...it seems so mild, comparing to the spiciness in the beginning.

There is alot of pearl-clutching when it comes to the mains relationship so I'm glad they didn't do any slow mo or make a big deal of the hand holding. I remember from TPR, people made such a big deal about the FL and SML interactions because of the slow mo and music. Glad they didn't do it here.

Me either. Her age at 14 turned me off already. I know it's historical but still, no thanks. I have no intention of reading it at all.

Yes they have such a close bond that if she ever gets married, the poor husband is going to play 2nd fiddle to them lol

Total agree abut the SML syndrome bit. I have not read the novel so based on this drama, he has zero appeal to me. I haven't seen any redeeming qualities from him. Yes he seems to love the FL but that to me is an unhealthy obsessive love and creepy as hell.

FL will never want to get together with SML after she found out the type of person he is now. Even though he didn't personally 'kill' her. He was responsible for her death in someway and the way he nonchalantly disregard human lives when he didn't know it was his beloved who fell over the cliff, left a very bad taste in my mouth. She was just young, naive and ignorant back then and that's why she fell for him. I'm the opposite, every time there was a scene with them together, I'm feeling unease and want her to get away from him.

In some way he was responsible for her 'death' so I'm not sure what misunderstanding they were supposed to clear up at that time when she was pretending her maid was her. LJX was feeling over emotional and guilty over her death and was trying to deny it. I think it was a reasonable reaction. He knew she fell off the cliff and was in denial and hoping it wasn't the case. The FL was trying to gtfo as soon as possible.

Agree. This drama is so well-made and solid in all areas. This deserved at least 8.5 but so many people down voted it because of the 'incest' part. It such a pity.

Good thing the rest of the stories (besides the romance) are interesting to me and still keep me on my toes. I've lowered my expectation for the romance and I'm hoping by episode 30. That's my limit lol

Just watched the previews for 23-24. She still didn't know about her true birth. But at least it looks like she might finally tell the ML about her history with LJX. Come on, hurry up and get the romance started!

But you know these scholars usually turn into officials, the ones standing around the emperor discussing states affairs. Of course their roles are considered more important than military roles. Soldiers are dispensable and they are more likely to die in battles. Hence, important Royal members don't usually join the military.

I get what you mean. Same. It hard to ship them when she still thinks he's her brother. Hopefully very soon and the arranged marriage will speed up her feeling for him.

I was told in the novel after she found out they were not related, it was an arrangement marriage between them, so the ML can protect her from the emperor who wants to make her a concubine. Hence, her transition to seeing him from a brother to lover. I think it makes sense. If there is no forced situation, she will probably still think of him as her brother after she finds out they were not related by blood.

But he was right not to believe because Mei Mei is LYN. She used her maid's name when she was interacting with him and because he can't see clearly, he doesn't know what she looks like.

You got half right lol. They are more like having grudges against the FL and causing trouble for her, than confessing undying love to the ML.

No he really doesn't really matter and not much screen time. Once the ML and FL get together (early too), he's annoying but fairly harmless. The other 2 women (intern and lawyer) were more annoying to me.

Yeah it would be nice if all cdramas follow this type of schedule then we know what to expect and don't have to wonder when it would end.
