I think you're seeing this through modern ideology. Back then, the punishment was harsher and depends on the family, and as you can see, very toxic environment. Maid and servants can be killed or sold for minor mistakes so no one speaks up for her. The child has no mother or anyone to back her up and the father is not a good parent and controlled by the 2nd wife, hence she was just left there and forgotten. I find it believable.

Maybe you should watch Nancheng Banquet if that is what you want. I haven't finished it but I saw all the comments that the FL was so clingy and love unconditionally even though the ML kept pushing her away.

Sure they can. Child actors don't go to regular schools, especially when they have a regular ongoing series. I can't speak for China but in Canada, they are exempted - singers and actors. They provide someone on set to take care of their education.

I really like episode 24 when JL told SYR that he's not worth being her obsession. That she thinks so little of him that she didn't even want to waste her time on getting her revenge on him. Love it!

Agree, it does seem intentional to give her a chance at survival. Most people would kill, then bury. I haven't read the novel, but in the drama, it seems like he did love her and he was really regretful about his actions but from what you've described in the novel, it sounds like he didn't love her.

Yes definitely acting wise, the FL is way better. She's so seductive, I would've fallen for her too lol. I just completed Love in the Tea garden. It's ok for passing time. So many kissing scenes, worth watching just for the shower scene lol
