Yaay can't wait! You've made me excited! It seems I'm as bloodthirsty as you haha :)
NQ's shamelessness & ability to kill when needed is what made the novel great for me - I find it more realistic and it's rare to come across ML who is good yet isn't afraid to kill just because he's good and all that jazz. So what if you're good? can still kill the bad guy instead of all that forgiveness & second chance crap. In this regard, NQ probably is my fav character - so hell yeah I'm glad they will retain at least some part of his character which shows how ruthless he can be! Now I've also regained my excitement :D
Ok, so I was truly saddened that so far they've made NQ weaker than he is in this part of the story - he might be emotionally weak due to the whole world going after his beloved SS, but his powers are still there and he's badass AF. They reaaaaaally toned that whole power side of him down in the drama and I was sad to not see him slaughter hundreds in that city where the old hag was. Not that I'm all for blood, but that massacre nicely portrayed the state NQ was in - just how far he'd go to protect SS. But, seems like there's hope yet! Saw the preview for ep 27 and while it's not as gruesome as in the novel where he slashes certain someones head right off...but it is there! Call me bloodthirsty, but I'm glad that it looks like they haven't completely lost NQ's character from the novel :D Yussss!!!!! :D
It's like @Kathy Noble said + the people going after NQ & SS now are the most powerful ones in the world...soo...NQ…
I think it's probably more with censorship. DW being able to portray a more merciless character would only portray his excellent acting skills, so can't be a reason for the writers to make NQ so not-bloody
I'm still in my late 20's (27yo) but as I get older my taste does change slightly in regards to genre/plots, but mostly I start paying more attention to quality of writing/production/etc.
There have always been part of the older generation actors & actresses I've liked, of course my own generation actors and also the youths already shining.
Older generation, well...no need to say anything there, they're total professionals and with decades of works behind them, they know what they do. I mostly enjoy watching my own generation actors because I'm sort of growing up along with them, I saw them when they started (more or less) and now as they take on more adult roles. Also, it's a joy to see the young actors growing up.
With me it's not so much that my fav actors change, it's just that I come across new ones I also enjoy to watch on screen so the list just keeps on growing ;D
It's like @Kathy Noble said + the people going after NQ & SS now are the most powerful ones in the world...soo...NQ…
Riiiight? In this part of the novel/drama NQ does some truly epic stuff! His mind is in a slight mess due to everyone trying to kill SS, but his power should've remained! Sigh, I doubt we'll get to see him chop off the head of that annoying prince either T_T They really should've let DW shine in this part of the drama as the merciless NQ
Why Ning Que in season 2 is so weak?? Loses every duel easily and need help in every duel...Very disappointing…
It's like @Kathy Noble said + the people going after NQ & SS now are the most powerful ones in the world...soo...NQ being weaker is pretty much normal. Thou' yeah, they have made him weaker in the drama, in novel he was more powerful. I was actually really looking forward to the fights & slaughter in the buddhist city after they came out of the board because there NQ was epic, but alas, they totally toned it down in the drama. I wonder why the writer did that T_T
damn , why they were not replace artist that play as sang sang !!! she is just to child like and not pretty !!!
Dude, girl or whichever - in novel SangSang IS childlike in her height 'cuz she was sick since childhood & due to malnutrition since her & NQ had to survive in wilderness until they went to Wei city AND SangSang is not supposed to be some grand beauty either. Just a normal girl with dark skin. In fact SS's hair should've been blond-ish at tips due to malnutrition! So I'd say they pretty much got Ireine Song portraying SS near perfectly.
Why is Ah Li (Bai qian and Ye Hua's son) a girl?!?! I loved that little kid in their previous drama.
like @blognex bn said - A Li's child actor grew up in these 2 years, whereas his character must look the same age as it did, since, ya know, he's immortal and will look like a child for few centuries more XD
It does??? It looks rather ordinary to me...hmmm *goes off to research* yeah, thought something was suspicious - the trailer we have now is ordinary, the goblin like one is not here and that is the one looking interesting. I wonder why they changed it...
Ah, yes, the struggle with narrow minded people, I feel you.
And while I'm not a huge horror fan, do enjoy it now and then and I gotta agree - true horror and the one I like is when that feeling of dread permeates you throughout the whole movie not just scares 2 or 3 times when something jumps out at you from the dark. The tension has to be there the whole time, that makes it great to me. In this, at least to me, asian horror is better than american one.
And yeah - I also prefer supernatural horror films over human serial killers etc. Somehow, they appeal to me more and manage to be more...interesting? Humans slashing each other...that's reality and I see enough of that in my line of work, so ghosts and such for me are better.
The moment op song started playing and it was the old one - such nostalgia. I'm super glad they kept the OST.It…
Totally agree! I like the female version as well, but the male one has a definite charm with Ever Night's plot and scenes it's used. They also used it only like 2 or maybe 3 times in S1, so I'm thinking we'll hear it maybe 1 or 2 more times in this season as well ;)
As expected, it's hard to fill in Arthur Chen's shoes but I'll definitely watch it till the end maybe Dylan Wang…
The moment op song started playing and it was the old one - such nostalgia. I'm super glad they kept the OST. It really does feels like simply the next part of the story, even though some faces have changed, but i'm already slowly getting used to them :)
it will have been interesting if the grand light priest alive to see he's wrong about ning que and the person…
It wasn't as obvious on the drama, thou it was there, but in the novel it is told more clearly that Wei Guangmin did in fact realise that SangSang is the "Daughter of Hades" when he battled with Master Yanse before he died. And even though he knew, he was sort of alright with it and so passed on with Master Yanse. So had he lived, he would've protected SangSang like NingQue does.

Girls in that River Country could get married when 14, think on that!

Hated his character in Love O2O, love his character here ;D

Also, whoa - 400 movies? Damn, you're horror guru! That's awesome! :D
It's cool how SangSang gets to showcase bit more of her abilities :D
