To avoid slumps I switch not just countries (though k-dramas and c-dramas remain a strong favourite followed by j-dramas, but some lakorn is thrown in now & then as well) but also switch...hobbies?loves?

So when it feels like no drama is good enough and I've rewatched my fav dramas yet again...I go back to reading books and manga, watching anime, amv's or some US/UK/etc tv series, looking for new music, colouring in my colouring books, making amv's/wallpapers, doing some crafts, taking photos, etc. until a slump arrives there and then I come back to dramas.
You could say that I switch between all of those to avoid the slump to begin with. And it works for me. Never bored, even if there are no new dramas, books, anime etc to catch my interest, I've still got plenty of other things I love to keep me occupied/entertained.

I do think part of it is a slump BUT part of it is also drama quality.
If you've seen a lot of dramas...it tends to become more difficult for new dramas to truly capture your interest since most of them are rather...singular? Too similar? Mediocre? With bad writing/directing? (those stupid and annoying 7 angles...just...ugh)

Though for me - it feels like recently dramas were written for morons, the plot/characters are so annoyingly dumbed down. (With endlessly useless flashbacks - feels like they think I have 1 minute memory and can't recall what happened in previous episode and can not connect the dots so it gets explained over & over again.) And thus indeed boring.
Or more like, to me, instead of dramas being boring (thou they certainly are) they're becoming more annoying. To me it is like the writers/directors think I'm an idiot and need to make it as simple and obvious as possible with a "helpful"flashback thrown in.
...hate that. Therefore, it is indeed difficult for new dramas to get my attention and even more difficult to keep it throughout the drama.

However, most of the time there is at least 1 new drama that stands out from the rest of them and manages to catch your eye and thus you invest your time in it. When Arthdal Chronicles arrived it was like the Earth started to move again in drama world, I love it with all my being and eagerly await each new episode - it was the fresh breeze I wanted and got it.

At least that's the way it is for me - switch between hobbies and look out for that one gem drama that is worth your time and life is good ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

We obviously notice and feel the effect the way the light showcases a scene but don't truly pay attention to it as we watch the scene itself, only experience it's result, so it's nice to see someone highlight the effort and thought put into the work by the drama producers/director/etc ;)

That was my thought as well - either Inaishigi & Aramun were essentially the same person, or there's a slight mistranslation regarding the whole Inaishigi stood against Aramun thing.
It could be that instead of Inaishigi actually going against Aramun, he simply was the only person who could have done it, since they weren't alive at the same time.

Aramun was never said to be cruel. And Inaishigi did not take him down.

Both Aramun and Inaishigi were great leaders who united their respective people.
And while it does seem kinda sketchy on whether they fought against each other due to mistakes in sub regarding the timeline, cuz Inaishigi was 1000 years ago...but wasn't Aramun only 200 years ago?
There's no mistake of both being great leaders/unificators.
Thus the only one who could stand against Aramun, would've been Inaishigi.

And yes, Mubaek thought Eunsom is Aramun due to the horse Karasomethingwasit'sname and now it seems that Eunsom might also be Inaishigi...due to his own actions.
In the end, it looks like Eunsom will be both Inaishigi AND Aramun 'cuz he'll also unite the people like those two did. But Eunsom's just gonna do both of their job combined and unite everything.

Partly, Eunsom becoming Inaishigi will help him take down Tagon who is now considered Aramun.

You summed up pretty nicely all the plot points they have showed to us and that we totally expect them to live up to and fulfill and I bet there are some that at the moment we didn't recall.
I truly hope they'll announce another part and not ruin an awesome series.

Riiiiiiiiight? There's NO WAY they can complete the series with mere 2 episodes left! We need AT LEAST another part, or better yet 2 more parts!
Yup, with a 4th & a 5th part THEN they could very nicely tie everything up without leaving any loose ends or smt half finished up in the air.

Well, he is damn perfect at the villain characters, rather charismatic, but I really wish for once he'd be the good guy and have some happiness.

I'm of the opinion that instead of not remembering the good/cool/strong female characters...there simply aren't that many of them to begin with.
The pickings are very slim indeed which is super sad.

I do think that male characters are better written most of the time.
These past years there do seem to be slightly more dramas with strong female leads, but still...if compared to male leads...there's still a kind of discrimination against women for the ratio of men vs women regarding their character's strength, it isn't even close to being the same T_T

Ooooh, great article! Totally agree!!! SO nice to see someone say it out loud! Just because he's nice to you doesn't mean you have to love him! That's just ridiculous.

I can count on one hand how many times I've had SLS and still have plenty of fingers free, because I'm like you in this regard - most of the time I don't care for the second leads cuz they're just selfish and expect the girl to like them simply cuz they were nicer to her and doesn't care for her own feelings at all. I seriously don't get why most people only see the surface and not the truth beneath.

And yup, the only second leads that I do like, as characters - not as the love interest for the FL, are the ones who realise the girl likes the ML and ML likes her and instead of interfering, supports them. Now those are the truly nice guys and they're ok as characters.

The excitement...it's indescribable! :D
