people complain about the age gap between the characters in encounter but nobody complains about the 13 yr age…
yeah thats exactly what I'm saying but in encounter some people's criticism was aimed at the age gap between the actors but they dont have an issue with the age gap in this show. was just highlighting the double standard towards older women/younger men relationships. not criticizing this show or anything. just criticizing the people who dont treat both type of relationships equally.
Its honestly could just not be their cup of tea...even i find it boring n cliche but still watching it to see…
different preferences for different people i guess. I was watching the other tvn drama airing right now memories of alhambra. even though i liked the premise of the show, the arrogant male lead put me off. reminded me too much of the arrogant people around me. however seeing characters of pbg and shk in this drama refreshes me.
also i think the screenwriter is purposefully setting up cliches so that the resolutions to those cliches shocks us like the ending of ep 4. it is a form of writing that is not used a lot but when done perfectly can heighten the emotions of the audience to another level because the audience will be expecting one thing and getting another
i get it that a lot of people don't want to rack their brains while watching kdramas, they just want to be entertained but shows like encounter deserve to be watched with a little more attention. Otherwise, you will really miss out on a beautiful drama where every frame is postcard-worthy.
he promises he will come back for her after she decides to move to a small town. in the epilogue we see that he has finished the first promise, so presumably he is likely to keep the second promise as well and thats where the story ends.
So Yoo-Jin-Woo is 40 years old, and Jang-Hee-Joo is 27 years old..Well they don't look like that much different..
people complain about the age gap between the characters in encounter but nobody complains about the 13 yr age gap between the characters in this drama. I am not saying that they must complain but the double standard is disheartening especially in the 21st century.
another brilliant episode with hijiri finally moving towards akira in ep8. I promise myself that i am not going to read the spoilers for ep10 and ep11. knowing the ending of ep 8 did dampen the experience a bit. but the feelings still came through. praying every day that our couple gets a happy ending. it will be the best christmas present ever.
watched this interview right now. you can see the mc's in the bottom right corner going gaga over okada kenshi's acting. even the male mc's

in real life there is an 8 years age gap

I found a very good analysis on the soompi forum https://forums.soompi.com/en/topic/422637-current-drama-2018-2019-encounter-boyfriend-%EB%82%A8%EC%9E%90%EC%B9%9C%EA%B5%AC-wed-thu-2130-kst/?do=findComment&comment=21332854

But I can see that happening.
