Usually Japanese dramas aren't that popular among international fans. Except Kento's lol
kento got extremely popular in japan because of mare the morning drama and outside japan because of death note and then the many shoujo manga movies he did.
This drama is very well received here on MDL just look at the amount of comments but I still feel it is not that…
They don't consider countries other than Japan while making movies or dramas except for anime. Unlike Korea they have limited their exposure for reasons only they know. Earlier in my country Japanese dramas of 90's and 00's used to be more famous. Then Korean dramas took over and they kind of deserve it.
i am liking the feel of it. feels like I am watching a good movie. I couldn't help but smile throughout the episode. obviously, the interaction between them is a bit awkward as it is meant to be for the first few episodes. well after the guest, this drama is going to keep me busy for the next two months.
Need to see ep7 and ep8 first to understand what really is going on. However from the trailer it looks like hijiri is going to run away again while Akira's father tells him that if he really loves sensei then he can't run away.
Well then it would become like the 1000 other cliche-filled dramas out there already and who wants that. If he was the one who was older the whole conflict the show is based on disappears.
watched ep 2. I think with this show we will get to see different perspectives on what people want from marriage and how it affects people who could never dream of being married ever in their life.
i remember us commenting when the drama hadn't even started and the first 25 comments on this show was how it glorifies pedophilia and hate about this type of show. its amazing how this show has turned around with all the positive reactions here and in japan. its one thing when a show everyone expects to be good is good but when a show everyone has already judged as a failure before it even starts turns out to be so incredible and exceeds expectations in every possible way, its a one of a kind miracle. regardless of the ending, it will be my favorite jdrama of all time just because of how it has completely invaded my life for these past 2 months.
can you pls tell me what happened? i don't mind spoilers
I went in thinking the same thing but the okada kenshi the male lead changed my mind completely. At first it seemed his acting is awkward but you will soon realise why its awkward. Anyways give this drama a chance, even if you do regret watching it one day, the journey is simply awesome
when i look at this post, with help of translation someone pointed tht the setting looks like a funeral house?!…
noooooo!!!!! that is the worst kind of ending possible and it makes everything meaningless. hopefully it doesnt go down that route. death doesnt fit into this story at all.

hey don't give up on this they still love each other and the male lead is chasing after her like mad after he found out that she is not married. it is just that female lead still thinks it would be wrong of her to pursue a relationship with her ex-student for now. sometimes you need the sad parts to make the happy parts more impactful.
Does anyone knows where to watch ep 7 with eng subs? I binged watched upto ep 6 and I have no idea about the schedule…
the show airs on Tuesday in Japan. the raw for ep 7 hasnt been released yet. the subs will come 1-2 days after raw releases. keep checking this page regularly for more info
this drama will be very interesting, it has a lot of cliche story points age-difference, rich/poor, boss/employee, single parent, etc but it reverses the gender. honestly, I am excited to see in which direction the drama takes our leads. some people are pointing out in the comments that we are seeing a lot more of older women/younger men couples in dramas in both japan and korea. I think the reason for that in both those countries is that this type of pairing is becoming more prevalent in real life. Even in my own country, I am witnessing such couples much more often. obviously, there are many factors behind this but dramas tend to reflect the society's desires and wants and this is the direction the screenwriters want to take.
