I agree with you. The only people who are pleasurable to watch in this drama is Song Kang and Yoon Bak and senior forecaster. The writer has done dirty to all the female characters in this drama making them dull and unwatchable compare this with brigerton (sorry I am gushing since I am so enamoured and biased with this show it’s fabulous and I binge watched in one entire sitting to the point my head is spinning now) where all the women characters good and villainous are an absolute delight to watch

While I agree with you this make the whole purpose of this drama pointless. At the promos they said it was a romcom and show the healing journey of the couple and it’s neither. So it’s very dishonest of the whole drama crew since the product is not what was marketed at all. Being together would make some sense of this very unenjoyable journey of 14 episodes. This reminds me of the dark tower series written by Stephen king, it’s a series of 8 books written over 30 years and you know the end of the series is exactly the point at which the first book started ? Many people were justifiably not so happy. The point is people get invested in stories and you cannot make the readers or viewers take a bumpy ride to make them come back to circle

Exactly right Simone Ashley in Brigerton is not beautiful (at least according to conventional Indian standards) but oh my god what screen presence. She lighted the whole picture frame to the point that you only watch her when she is there. The other character I loved was Penelope again another person not conventionally thought to be pretty. Watch Brigerton you are Indian I presume you will love this show. It’s fabulous and it’s representation and diversity is amazing. It’s such a feel good tingle in my toes drama this season 2. And loved this line “after passion cools and fate intervenes, who else is a woman left with but herself.” Gosh loving it loving it. I know I am gushing and that too on a k drama forum but it’s so so so good.

After the disappointment that this drama was I was trying to distract myself with Brigerton and found it horrible. But I stuck on and it surprisingly started becoming amazing after ep 3. This drama also highlighted why flaw was so unlikeable. I think we all like feisty female leads and sparks between the main couple. When I saw Brigerton I finally realised what the thing was, the whole spark and joie de vivre was missing from the female lead. I personally think Song Kang did a great job of convincing us of his liking for JHK, no matter how improbable. But the character of JHK is actually what made this show so unwatchable. It’s not the acting but the direction and the author of the drama who are responsible for this mess.

Giving analogy from this drama, people also can change like the weather. This episode did it for me for many reasons. One the female lead, two the utter disregard shown to the health and life of employees of KMA. With covid and seeing how governments treated essential workers at the expense of general public I am biased. Yes they are civil servants but a life is a life. Just this kind of thinking saw so many frontline workers being sacrificed to the cause of protecting the public when they could not even be bothered with masks. Anyways I am done with this drama. I won’t be commenting anymore about this drama on MDL and I am dropping it.

Yeah but I could not buy the explanation for the reasons I shared. Where I stay in south east Asia, I also see a lot of people who belong to conservative religions/cultures and again we see people still marrying for love and taking steps when their heart tells them to. At this stage for this character, It’s just euphemism for being self centred and being inert.

Problem is I am emotional. I get invested in characters so this does not work for me. And part of the problem is that I ended liking Lee Shi Woos character so much that it annoys me to see him get shortchanged so badly throughout this drama at every possible way.

This entire drama is extra about everything 🙂. This is what I have realised after wasting 13 hours and endless hours arguing on this MDL page initially supporting this drama imagine. God if only I could get my time back.

Look I am south Asian. It’s a far more conservative culture let me tell you. In some parts of South Asia the culture penalty for love is actually harsh and we all have seen it. Even then women go for love they take chances and go against the grain. So it’s hard for me to justify this character. We don’t treat our men like such dirtbags because we are afraid of what people will say. This character has purposely been written so unlovable by the author for whatever reasons I cannot understand

Me too it’s weird. I am so shocked how bad this drama has tanked. This has made me realise I am never ever gonna watch a drama again while it’s airing.

No ya, real people in real life are not so angsty. We try to make relationships work and we also stand up for people we care about day after day. This is not how people behave in real life. Honestly in real life people also do not agree for a secret relationship usually just like ML did with FL. It’s usually very demeaning

We also have a saying like this “khoda pahad nikli chuhiya”. They dug an entire mountain in search of treasure but the end outcome was a little rat. Nice to know you are German. I loved Dark on Netflix and wished they showed some more German shows.

At this point I am not even sure what the next three endless agonising episodes mean and what are those episodes trying to achieve. It will keep going in circles till they finally break up again I think 😀😀😀 and one of them gets another job

I am watching brigerton at this point with a feisty heroine. This drama and I have parted ways 😊. I just can’t any more with this teeth pulling exercise. Why give us three more episodes I don’t know. This is a good time to end this now

Ok so I looked at twitter and as per usual the main leads have no screen time together. 🤷‍♀️😔. Why did they even date in the first place. They should have just made it a procedural drama. That way people who have been happier I think. Ok so like everyone else I think I am also finally done with this drama. Moving on… 👋

I totally agree with your review. I have met many park Jae eon in real life who grow into a more wholesome person. Once that rush of early twenties fades to mid twenties they settle down and calm down. My green flag for him was because he really really listened to Yu Nabi. For me do Hyeok was a red flag. A very classic male of the patriarchal system who thinks a girl is beholden if he deigns to like her. He tries to shoehorn her so many times. We women keep hearing be with someone who like you not who you like. Why? Do we ever men tell that? Why can’t women take risks and do what they really want. Another reason why I though park Jae eon was a keeper because he was kind in general such as the junior boy in their team
