Do i need to watch prequel before watching this? I have just watched nanyang mystery out of whole series.
If you watch M9 #1 first, you might get tied up in the melodrama. It was 40 episodes with redundant scenes. You will miss out on the novelty of M9 #2 while it is airing.

You could get whiplash watching Li Mao. I was not even moved when he was the benevolent friend and ruler at the end. Many lives lost during his manic moments in the palace. I can't imagine that the deaths were fake.
