Are you talking about how she didn't show a lot of emotion in response to Yeon Woo's suicide attempt?
I get the suspicion for somethings but I think her erasing their traces was so that Yeon Woo would have absolutely no way of contacting Yoo Han since them being together was what made Yeon Woo start to spiral. To me, her reaction was the strangest part... something seemed off like if she was expecting it (like a part of a plan) or something similar happened before. Another thing I found strange is that she didn't intervene earlier as much as I thought she would... like something was obviously off, who knows though? Much to think about
Wow, Ep 7 really tug at our heartstrings.YW can't bring himself to harm YH after thinking about their happy memories…
I feel the same way! Though the one thing that caught me off-guard (putting aside the part where YH knew where YW was like you said lol) was how YH didn't really show a reaction to YW's suicide attempt. I'm not sure if he was trying to tough it out, didn't know about it, or if it was a mistake made by the screenwriters...
I didn't find anything too jarring with the editing? I'm curious as to why you think it was bad? Genuinely curious…
I see what you mean! With episode 4 I now remember that I definitely saw a problem with fluidity when they all of a sudden cut to the outdoor rain scene though, other than that, I think the abrupt cuts were intentional to show the intrusiveness of Yeon Woo's subconscious/memories (at least that's how I interpreted it which is probably why they didn't catch me off-guard). I also totally understand your frustration about the changes made in the adaptation of the novel, I also hate when adaptations do that which is why I try to avoid the original work when watching the adaptation and then go check out the original if I'm interested. Seeing something you love being butchered is so disheartening and disappointing. And don't be sorry! Art is meant to be subjective so it's totally normal for us to see things differently. I also wish that the drama was longer because it has so much potential to be a full-length drama *deep sigh* I honestly think that's its biggest flaw (which causes pacing issues) but like how you said, they're doing their best with what they have.
*fingers crossed* Also do you know where I can find that info about the crowd funding?
I'm not sure about the cost but it's probably because its from overseas. My reaction was to the amount crowd-funded which was almost double the set goal
FINALLY someone said it. I would've loved it but yeah as @Nikki says it would've potentially turned away a lot…
Definitely would have given an indie film vibe and I would gladly watch it! The production quality is already really great (though in my opinion the color rush visualizations could have been better executed, but for the size of this project, it's very good). Now knowing how the light/color exhibit looked like in color I feel like I would be missing out if I saw it only in B&W at the beginning lol I wish Yeon Woo was able to see the whole thing in color.
Nope, I see it too. But I think the R is there because it contains LGBT+ content which is still not widely accepted…
I haven't read the novel but it's possible that the rating is based on it... (???) since other BL K-dramas are not R-rated I wonder why CR is. According to the Korea Media Rating Board this is what an R-rating applies to "R (Restricted) (제한상영가) – Gray label: Film needs a certain restriction in screening or advertisement as it is considered a highly bad influence to universal human dignity, social value, good customs or national emotion due to excessive expression of nudity, violence, social behavior, etc" (Wikipedia).
Haha, true. But S. Korea is too conservative for now, I don't expect a full makeout kiss scene tbh(especially…
Speaking of steps, I think this is the first BL K-drama (at least that I've seen) that alludes to two men (in a relationship) having sex with Yoo Han saying they should have ramen. I didn't think about it too deeply at first but I think this is a big deal!
Edit: $42K USD o.o
