It's still pretty recent and might still be in some festivals or get releases from a conventional distributor announced in some countries. If you look at https://mubi.com/films/moneyboys and it shows a date that it's coming, then it will be released online on MUBI where you are. MUBI's social accounts for your country might have news on it, too.
I wouldn't pay anything to the owner of that page linked to above; it doesn't look official to me. And MUBI has a free trial; you can get the first month free if you join at https://mubi.com/t/web/global/Od66GsFR
Hello, why I can't open the link from gdrive. I think there's an error?
As well as being in festivals and having cinema releases in some countries, it's coming to MUBI in several other countries, though I'm not sure what all of them are: https://mubi.com/films/moneyboys
I know it's been licensed by MUBI and will be released by them only online in their VOD service this summer, but I haven't been able to find a list of which countries. In other countries it's a case of seeing it at a festival, checking upcoming releases in the country and if all else fails looking to see if it's been released on disc in another country you can import from with subtitles that will do.
https://www.blu-ray.com/Moneyboys/1442459/#Releases isn't showing anything currently (it might not be long enough since its cinema releases in any country to have a disc release there) but if you look in a few months there might be something.
hi, do you know how i can watch this? or can it only be viewed in film festivals rn?
As well as playing at festivals around the world and having cinema and widely available home releases in a few countries, it's now getting an online-only release in some countries on MUBI. I only know that it's definitely licensed by them for the UK and US, but I know that they license a lot for India, including some movies from and set in East Asia that were in Cannes this year.
You could see if https://mubi.com/films/moneyboys shows a date it's coming (if it does, then it will be on the service in the country you're in on starting on that date) or if the MUBI India social accounts or newsletter mention it.
It depends where you are. But either in cinemas or online in festivals, or in cinemas, online or on disc as part of a national release.
In several countries it's been licensed by MUBI and will be released nationally only online, exclusively for MUBI subscribers (you'll be able to watch it with a trial if you haven't used yours up). If https://mubi.com/films/moneyboys gives a date that it's coming, then your country is one of them.
In other countries, try looking for it on lists of recent and upcoming releases in the country.
In Taiwan it'll be released on 11/19. Why do you get it earlier? 😂
It's more of a French than a Taiwanese production in terms of funding. But the main reason it might be released particularly early in France is that it was in the official selection at Cannes. For a feature to play in that, the festival requires that the movie already has French distributor and that it's later given a national cinema release in France with a full theatrical window before its home release.
Though it looks from https://en.unifrance.org/film/49481/moneyboys like this one ended up being delayed multiple times and eventually released on 16 March 2022. Though Belgium, another of its countries of origin, got it a few days before Taiwan in November 2021.
This film is good. It's great to see a film that depicts an open mind to this kind of situations. What can I say?…
It's partly a Taiwanese production and was shot there, but I'm not sure how representative it is of Taiwanese cinema, as the writer and director is from mainland China and Austria, and the other lead staff are mostly European.

That page doesn't look terribly official. :-/
I wouldn't give them even 1 ¢ if I were you, as I don't know what it would really be used to fund. But I expect it's a lot more than just coffee.
If you look at the "International releases" section of https://en.unifrance.org/movie/49481/moneyboys it lists some countries the movie has been licensed in and what the legal distributors and release dates are in those countries. (One can look this info up on Unifrance for most co-productions with France.)
If you look at the "Watch Moneyboys in VOD" section, it will show if it's already been widely released online in a country.
In several countries, including the US and UK, unfortunately for people who'd like to see it in a cinema but fortunately for people who'd like to see it at home, it's been licensed by MUBI will be released by them directly to VOD on 10 June 2022: https://mubi.com/films/moneyboys
This means that as well as it definitely not getting a national cinema release (which, with it premiering in Un Certain Regard at Cannes but not winning anything there, I was perhaps unrealistically hopeful for), it's unlikely that it will even get any more screenings at festivals, once it's online on MUBI to stay. The only time it played in a cinema in the UK that I know of was at London Film Festival in 2021.
It's been playing in cinemas and online as part of many film festivals. It seems very likely that there has and maybe still will be some in France that it's in, but I don't know much about the festivals there are beyond Cannes.
Looks like the film got picked up by MUBI for North America/UK. Neon didn't pick it up, so its likely not going…
I highly doubt that. At least in the UK, MUBI's theatrical distribution has exploded (in the better way for them) post-lockdown; after dabbling in doing some cinema distribution themselves a few years ago, it seems to me that now they're releasing movies more frequently and in more cinemas that I can remember any single one "art-house" specialist distributor ever doing so before in the country. They got "The Worst Person in the World" nominated beyond the non-English-language ghetto at the BAFTA Awards in the UK, just as NEON did at the Oscars in the US (if, strangely enough, in different categories).
As I understand it (from an interview with Curzon's CEO) NEON and Curzon Artificial Eye are respected but pretty small distributors (though NEON turned out to be excellent at campaigns, both for the public and for voters) that were able to license "Parasite" because no one at the time could have imagined that any non-English-speaking movie could have been as popular in these regions as it was. Curzon had to distribute it through the larger distributor StudioCanal in order to release it on more than the around 25 screens their releases usually play on. PCW is better-known now than BJH was before "Parasite" premiered; I imagine the sales agency was asking more for it and MUBI were able to price out NEON and Curzon.
MUBI haven't demonstrated the ingenuity in campaigns that NEON has and they're new to theatrical in the US, but they're an international operation with money to throw at it, they'll be able to sync their US/CA and UK/IE campaigns completely and they have their own subscription service to put it on in time for the voting period. Apple are new to producing artistic content, but they paid their way (smartly) into the top echelons in just a couple of years; I can see MUBI having at least as quick an ascent now they've gone into theatrical in Northern America.
I can only hope that it no longer being on Vimeo means that perhaps a service like Netflix (which has previous series by the same production company) or GagaOOLala has licensed it and it will be coming to one of them in not too long a time.

One can read about who they are and C.B. Yi's background in the movie's English press kit:
