I thought they got officially together after ep 6... but apparently they're not? What was that kiss and confession…
Regarding the not dating, it's a rather common trope in Japanese media - since nothing was spelled out, they don't want to assume. It's kinda the same bu the opposite with many western shows or movies where characters can have a sexual relationship, but then it turns out that one or both of them didn't consider it dating. Though in case of Natsumi and Kento, it's not that they're not officially dating, but rather just shy to admit it openly because it's so new. Well, that's how I see it.
And as for Airi, she said it clearly: after her history with lying men, she was attracted to Osamu's brutal honesty and then also noticed that he's actually kind.
Is it just me or did they never kiss on the lips in this whole series ; ss 1,ss2 and the movie, well except that…
I'll understand if it was just some peck on the lips, but how could you miss these open-mouthed kisses that lasted a whole minute or so? The one in the movie went for ages.
Are the subs on dramacool and bilibili still just AI generated ones?
You can just check - it should be obvious even if you skip the first few seconds where it clearly says "Translate by AI". Besides, dramacool hasn't uploaded any video yet.
First impression musings... (A bit long but no spoilers, feel free to scroll past if you're not interested)I've…
I might be biased because I've read the book first, before even watching season 1, let alone the second one of the movie, but I didn't feel like Kiyoi was short-changed here. If you think about the second season and the movie as a single entity, then Kiyoi got more attention and development in the dorama, while the most important development for Hira was left for the movie. But they both got their progress.
What Maggi said! Along with a few thoughts of my own under the spoiler tag below:
He is not a meathead, but saying "in the first two seasons there were no pecs or abs to define" is simply not true. He takes off his shirt in the 1st season, and those muscles weren't done by some clever contouring. Edit: I was typing this while the above comment weren't posted yet. I didn't know we'd be essentially saying the same thing.
I'm really digging this series so far. The first episode goes a bit too much for the shock value with all the sex scenes and unanswered questions, but it gets explained later on, and characters become more likeable. There's also a lot of unusual camera work and other creative touches.
Is it me or the eng sub are quite bad ? (Seems it was done with AI, hopefully there are better subtitles available…
It was done by AI (there's a line about that right at the beginning) without any human input. I mean, they didn't even fix Kiyoi name. I checked a bit, and there's a lot of mistranslations, more than you can expect from Google translate these days, and GT is not that good in the first place.
Currently there are 3 novels of the main story, and the author is working (or planning to) on the 4th one which…
I bought ebooks on Renta (you can also find them on Cmoa, Amazon.co.jp and other ebook retailers too), and I think the first two novels can be found "elsewhere". But all of them are in Japanese. For now, none of the novels has been fully translated to English yet.
I haven't read the novels... Is this the end of the story? or there's more so we have options to see them again?
Currently there are 3 novels of the main story, and the author is working (or planning to) on the 4th one which is not supposed be the last in the series either, so their story is far from over! But as for further seasons or movies, after watching Eternal I think they don't have enough material yet. Book 3 mostly haven't been adapted yet, but Hira at the end of Eternal is more or less Hira at the end of book 3 (he gets developed more and in other ways in novels so it takes longer). So if they start to adapt book 3 now, there would be barely any progress for Hira, except things related to his professional carreer (and even then that award is still far away). Now I think that they might actually want to wait for the release of the next volume of the main story (and look at the DVD sales numbers) before thinking about possible season 3 and whatnot.
First: I don't speak Japanese (or barely), so the explanation might lie within some conversation, I simply didn't…
There was the "Hurry up and come home" note from Kiyoi who has been at Hira's bedside and left the hospital just before he woke up. Plus the whole "he said that you're more important than a friend" speech from Tomoya, so I can't say I missed it. If anything, the total lack of concern from Hira's parents bothered me more. They could've at least add some "I told your mom not to worry" line for Naho.
Do anymore know where to watch in English sub?🥺
There's no English subs for the movie right now. If some fansubber decides to translate it, it's going to take them some time, because they will have to do everything from scratch.
If you can read Japanese (and I mean read - you won't be able to copy the text into a machine translator), then, as far as I know, digital versions of books 3 and 4 can only be bought on Japanese sites like Cmoa, Renta or Japanese Amazon, but it might still be possible to find books 1 and 2 "elsewhere". Message me if you need some help.
Naoki has been my fav here ever since I saw how domestic and scupulous he actually is, and after the latest episode I like him even more. Really hope they'll give his arc a satisfying conclusion.
it's funny how you constantly keep coming back and hate commenting every few days.. it's like you can't help watching…
Funny thing is, I decided to look up the actual ratings, and... the dorama seems to be doing pretty well so far: https://saru.co.jp/tvmaga/drama_shityouritsu2020sp/ - scroll down to the table with the green column. Manatsu no Cinderella is the third from the top, and its ratings match the ones from Nikkansports website, so it looks legit. The first episode was the 5th highest out of these 12 titles, and so is the third, though it'll probably be 6th once 3 currently missing ratings are listed. Anyway, it's hardly the "ratings lowest made records", whatever that means.
