This is a light quick watch to entertain yourself without thinking too much, the aim of china's miniseries n i guess to intro some new faces in the market.

This drama has some of the funniest side characters around like Thierry Henry, Joseph mom stylist hong, director oh. I think JD the bratty celeb is a mirror of some of the celebs or influencers around today.

A Light drama which i enjoyed because i didn't have any expectations . The strength of this drama is the friendship among the 4 leads & theme on chasing your dream n enjoy what you do , when you are passionate about your job, the results speaks for itself. Another plus point are the female leads, they are strong in their own way n love is not the only thing going on in their life which so often happens in kdramaland

Agree its not like masterpiece level, more for a relaxing watch, luckily the episodes are short

Perhaps i don't have any expectations on this hence i find it still enjoyable

MDL reviews are not necessarily reliable and it also boils down to personal taste. For eg i find Alchemy of Souls boring n draggy on the later part & even season 2 seems boring to me. So sometimes u just have to try 1-2 episodes to decide if u like it

One aspect that was not talked about much but its still an important element was the relationship between the Queen n her trustworthy maid servant. They are more than just master and servant, i am so glad that the maid stay loyal till the end as she is 1 of only a handful of ppl that the queen can pour out her thoughts and feelings to, she is definitely her rock

Queen Dowager was schedule to be queen but was not meant to be as the previous king has passed away hence she only became Queen Dowager when his son ascended the throne

Yes i finished it just cause i am still curious how it ends. some parts are quite draggy this could have been concluded within 10-12 episodes imo

He knows how to bring out a grey character convincingly that u might not like him from the start but u end up sympathise with the character in the end. Brilliant actor

Berlin has the best character development and was hoping to see more of his screentime with Seoul
Seoul was an interesting addition even though with the limited screentime

Part 2 is much more solid compared to part 1, they should have shown part 2 with shorter gap as many were kind of dissappointed with part 1.

Not a fan of FL too, personal opinion SHK is an overhype actress. The trailer looks good but felt the FL is forcing into her character instead of embodying it. Shall see if my opinion changes once the drama starts

The female love interests is lovely too Xi Jun loves her man but doesn't pester him unnecessarily & is a smart lady on her own. Unlike Luoyang Liu Ran who annoyingly screams Er Lang all the time

Hidden gem of the year, enjoying the cases and the colourful main characters who are different but complement each other. Personal opinion this is better than last year luoyang

It has a good closure n neat ending, i felt its not necessary to have another season

Hong sisters are famous for sucky endings. AOS is quite overrated, it started off well but so many boring parts that i need to FF.

Yup most likely she committed suicide for an unrealised dream of becoming a queen & full control of her son

The king listen & respect the queen wise advice, such a rarity in kdramalad. This drama is the ultimate feminist drama without being overtly preaching about it.
