Kim Myung Min is amazing and steals whole show... really good drama 8.5 /10 from me I give only 8.5 because it…
the love stry between myung min and the girl wasnt stupid imho. Its the other guy who was a little problematic but i do think they dealt with this in a mature way I loved the promise of romance they expressed to each other and a sense of hope. it was all very appropriate :) This is coming form someone who loves romances and romance games oo, but I felt like all they did with romance here was appropriate. And I think JGS was appropriate. it was hs best and most mature role to date. he has talent, too bad it tends tod rown under his bad choices and maybe some arrogance. ths was an honest role for him.
I like it so far. I love the original too but this one is a very pleasant watch. I feel like they made good casting choices and I really like this versions Stressman and his backstory. Granted, itts not as good as Beethoven Virus for a classical music-oriented drama but I like it and Joo Won is growing on me with his every new project.
Well this drama still holds strong for me, especially because of the characters. Revenge scheeme resembles old…
Hi there. No, not really, not much in any case. And as far as I remember it now, it had most to do with the tragic circumstances of these characters...it wasn't the subject of the plot or a great focus of it, there were other things going on that were of more importance. Its mood is dark and tone very tragic and may leave you feeling quite stricken afterwards. It's a great show that leaves a lasting impression but perhaps not if you are looking specifically for a romance drama.
Nice review. :) Personally though, I really do not care for originality of stories. I care for the heart. A story well told and with feeliing is worth more in my eyes than original story that is flashy, contrived and stolid. Most Korean dramas are, to me, overproduced, throwing cliches left and right and caring only for the hotties. Not this one.
This one has heart in the heaps and it is stories like this that make me return to dramas against my intentions. The story is led responsibly all throughout. And characters are all endearing... It's always nice to see this sort of heart in a Korean drama.
Anyway nice work here :) I do wish there was more of the island shown. it really was a beautiful setting.
Not an original idea or love story, but a perfectly and beautifully written and acted love story that breaks your…
Agree with everything you said, 100% Very well-said. Kam Woo Sung has always been likeable but he's really endearing and loving here and that story, so loving, just hits all the right spots. As far as I"m concerned, this is the best drama this season. Korenans hardly ever know how to do warmth and love properly, but here those feelings are just natural. As a sentimental person. for me this drama is a must watch and a gem. As far as I"m concerned...stories which try hard to be original often come out as contrived, artificial and stolid. What matters, for me, in any story is the heart. This one has heart in the heaps. It makes it a stand out drama foir me and a cut above a lot of other contrived dramas, especially this season.
Oh Please No sad ending .. This Drama should reflect hope !
you know there are various ways in which a drama can reflect hope. I want the two of them to be happy together, but there is so much talk in the drama about the heart being a gift for her that it makes me wonder..well let's hope for the best resolution :).
For you guys that say he's always the bad guy, watch Dong Yi. Cheon Soo is by far one of my favorite characters…
I loved his role in Jumong, personally but in Dong yi he was THE man, as far as I remembe,r he really was most..impressionable. Not the stupid king, much a sI like ji Jin hee but his character was annoying. Bae Su Bin on the other hand..
Keep on coming back to dramas and film whenever you get the chance. It's always nice to see you act. :) I hope he will get many good offers for his future "comebacks, as Chandler put it" :)
There are only few good age gap stories out there, sadly. I look forward to this but I hope they won't go Angel Eyes on the age gap couple here...I really hated Angel eyes for chickening out like they did. That would make me terribly annoyed. Plus Kang Woo sung is terribly underused as an actor. This is his first appearence in four *bloody* years. I have hopes for it...I hope I won;t be disappointed.
It was fun. I love japanese family dramas and this one was like a japnese family drama masquerading as a comedy-detective title. It was light on the detective-investigative aspect, cheesy on some of the dramatic moments but it was very nice on the family (father-son) theme and mostly didin;t take itself too seriously, capitalisng on the comedy more than anything. Which was a good call, imho. Had a great time with the two. Watabe-san is splendid. Sato Takeru is lucky to be paired up with excellent seasoned actors and ends up starring in dramas which are either precious or fun. Last year it was Uchino Masaaki in Tonbi, this year Watabe-san. Where Tonbi was precious and very endearing, Bitter Blood was overall just a lot of fun, thanks to the reluctant interactions between an estranged father and son.
The synopsis for the story on MDL is a bit too long but it's basically about a fake kidnapping which was arranged by the heroines's brothers (sic) so that the heroine could end up with one guy...but well...things don't go exactly as planned. Silly as it may be, it could be a lot of fun in the middle eps as the two eventually start to bicker in a pleasant manner. There were some only slightly shaky moments..But then towards the ending it went a little downhill towards the usual kind of dramatic complication, The ending was really cute and very much in character of the story, I loved that.
Poor main lead had to pretend to be terribly roquish... well he was a little rough around the edges overall but not as bad as he wanted the poor naive heroine to believe for the sake of the masterplan to unite her with the other guy. No, he actually was a nice guy. In fact the lead guy reminded me a little about Kitamura Kazuki from the days he played the roquish good-for-nothing dad in Summer Papa, the sort of rough around the edges character but with a softer side and with a lot of energy. I think the lead guy here may be my first real lakorn crush lol. The actor is really nice, though I have no idea who he is..but I find him to be very lovely.
So overall I really liked it! I found it far less wishy-washy than the few other lakorns I
watched so far so I really had fun. So far tawipob and Wanalee are the ones I really enjoyed.
I really liked the lead actor....he was absolutely lovely. .I found this to be a lot of fun on the whole...less wishy washy than other lakorn I watched so far...I really liked the two of them. Cute ending and in tune with their characters, too. I liked it!
Very sweet and lovely drama. I'm glad I watched it, I was almost turned off by lakorns after an intro with mostly…
Same experience, same thought about this drama. Slap and kiss was thoroughly repulsive experience. I did not think I'd ever watch any lakorn after watching some prime examples of slap and kiss... I still don't have a very good opinion of lakorns but this one was indeed rather pleasant... it was a rather wholesome story without hysterics or tantrums. The male lead was nice, the type that I tend to like overall, the quiet, serious sort. I liked most of the side characters as well. This one makes lakorns look a little better in my eyes, but I remain to be convinced.. At the very least, tawipob was decent and watchable..and will likely remain my favourite lakorn.
In retrospect, this remains to me one of very few memorable Korean saeguks that are worth anything...an overal great story which actually has some sense of values not some trite, silly romance in the focus. Not that I have anything against romance..but sometimes it's better when it doesn't hog the overall picture. The cast is really great. The characters were memorable and defined and the soundtrack was just gloriously haunting. I adore the soundtrack. Unfortunately, dramas like this (not saeguks per se) are becoming obsolete as far as I can see.
terribly underrated. this drama is a lot of fun overall, there is comedy and antics but it also deals with issues in relationships, without turning them into a unncessarily weepy melo. And it definitely does not turn into a heavy melo at any point. I think to me it feels fairly balanced and positive in its overall approach, and consequently good to watch
It has its bad points. I think Park hye Young and BoHyung's story is the one that may be most problematic/difficult. But all in all I really like the characters, especially the central couple whom I find most endearing.
I am really liking him in lights and Shadows. Can't believe I never noticed him before. Ahn Jae Wook, where were you all my drama life until now? You are an engaging actor.
This one has heart in the heaps and it is stories like this that make me return to dramas against my intentions. The story is led responsibly all throughout. And characters are all endearing... It's always nice to see this sort of heart in a Korean drama.
