It's an interesting question. I think it's a conjecture of our own perception and values and their media image.I like to pick up on actors who seem more humble. I do have this longing to find people who are pleasant and likeable. They are often the less popular actors it seems. Lie Park Sang Wo. I do think that some of the ones that are my eye candy like Song Il Gook may well have that streak. thoygh the likeability factor is also determined by what news about them are there.

For example, I never adored Park Shi Hoo (he always seemed very artificial) but after his scandal I can't bring myself to look at him again because he lost something of an audience trust with me. They should be responsible with the media image they are trying to build. Park Shi Hoo tried to build a sweetheart image. Well, now its a little hard to trust that image. On the other hard, it must be really hard to maintain the kind of likeable appeal unless one naturally is humble and likeable. I get that vibe from Jackie chan somehow, as well possibly a strict father vibe hehe. But we can only like their media image. I am willing to trust though that Song Il Gook is actually a family man since he hasn;t been in drama for ages. He seems more shy that snobbish on screen somehow.

Somehow it's always easy to hope that celebrities just may be good average people rather than self-assured snobs who think little of others. That's part of the reason why I wouldn't want to meet them. I don;t want that illusion to change. haha, aww, sounds like he was perfect for the job then.

Yes, Sandglass is very much a human drama. I found the OSt interesting too. They used a Russian song that mourns Soviet soldiers whio died during WWII. Koreans don;t know the lyrics but they know the song anyway thanks to Sandglass. The tone fits though.

Yeah, but sometimes the hunt is more fun than the watching. Sometimes I just lose interest when the actual watching starts. but the chase can go on and on :D Happy Stalking! :DFor now I;ll focus on Sandglass and King;s Daughter I think though in the meantime I may speedwatch something just to check it out. It's pure addiction ><

you know Dongseok is partly to blame for his sister. He shouldn't have screamed at her for the diamind ring. BUT at the same time I have a feeling it was just his way of treating her as a normal person, not as ahandicapped person. Everyone takes pity on her while he maybe is trying to act normal around her. More importantly he really wants to separate famoly and buisness, but this will be difficult. I like Haewon. I really do.

somehow they pulled it together so well. Including the upbeat OST haru haru. It's stuck in my head. I have goosepumps when things work together well and in king they did. Siwon makes me wonder if he just maybe actually has distance to himself and is able to laugh at himself in such a role. It's nice when celebrities show that side of them too.

Failan is a nice story, you may find Choi Min Sik crude (he really does tend to play these hardened tough guys but with a human streak) but he grows on you and you see his sensitive side throughout. I should rewatch it. I was so drawn into a lingering feeling of hope back then; it was very sad but not entirely.

Right now though I find myself in some drama searching fever. Sometimes finding dramas is more entertaining than watching them I"m afraid XD

He's got such a good guy vibe about him. I liked his character in Sandglass a lot. A guy who tries to be wise and understanding and overall be firm in his beliefs. But black is not always black, white is not always white as his character came to learn.

I'm yet to watch Eyes of Dawn but I liked Sandglass. He seems to have passed his acting career mostly under the radar, just doing his job. I hope he's happy with that and doesn't have any regrets or bitterness. I like his smile.

So I guess common interests can bring people together. On top of that the case gets personal. He REALLY doeasn;t want to mox work and private matters but it's becoming difficult I think. Espoecially with his grandfather. But Donghee's boss is creep annoying. Though some say he looks like Jude Law 0.0

Miss Korea is frankly bad. Lee Sung Gyun was so disappointing. I don't know what he;s been doing but he was out of touch with acting. The script was weakish too. Lee Sung Min saved the day though with his cool gangster vibe. The many 10s it got is frankly surprising.

You mean King's Daughter? The episodes are only half the length of usual episodes. That makes it much shorter. It won't take too long to finish. But I think the writer complicated things too much from the start- introduced too many cases of mistaken identity.

This will get messy later on and with dramas this long writers are never able to remain consistent and start to forget. Even so I like the character types that they introduced. I can see where the plot is going: dragging revelation of big dramatic secrets until the end. That's why the set up is what it is.

If you know the Chinese Princess Pearl the story starts somewhat like that, with a slight twist to it. Princess Pearl had annoyingly stupid characters. Here at least characters can be liked. I guess I just felt like watching a popular period piece knowing that it will likely be lighter than what I consider to be a good saeguk (e.x Jumong) and in this respect I am not disappointed- as long as I have low expectations, I won't be wasting my time and maybe I can get a kick out of it. Story and plot may be stupid but the anticipation is still there.

well, it seems like a well-paced drama but there will be too much drama. Look who's playing one of the sister :-: if you saw Cinderella;s sister you can bet on what kind of character she will play. The king os going to be dumb as hell. I like the crown the Prince but I think romance will make him weak in the end. The setup is decent but it will go downhill. Still I rhnk I will enjoy it for the romance seeing that I have taken a liking to the Crown Prince but I just don;t think this will be in the masterpiece genre. This is the drama you choose for the ride only and for the frustrations along the way : the characters to make your blood boil and for the script to make your blood boil (because of how silly it may become). Ratings for King of dRamas aren;t so good on MDL either. I think it;s becaise of the extention and ending. What did you make of it?

there is too much mistaken identity in King;s Daughter. You can bet the plot will get ridiculous. Too much charade, double switching of identity of both princes and princesss...nothing good bound to come out of it. Especially in a drama this long. The writer will just mess it. I'll probably just see what happens, because this is the typoe of drama where the plot will sometimes give wa to romance. Donl;t expect a female Jumong. C

Well, Park Sang Won is quite smart too but hes just so lovely. I wanted to hug him sometimes. Sometimes not. Fates of people change just as history changes. My next oldie will be eyes of Dawn, another hit, Park Sang Won is also there. He's got this likeable appeal to me you know? This good guy image.

I think there are enough international fans of Kim Myung Min to sub it. I mean, did you see the international fansite doing signature book about King of Dramas? I signed too. It was an opportunity to tell them that they did well with King of Dramas- king of dramas had shamefully low ratings.

mhm. Maybe so. I never thought about it in this way. All in all I think Se Ra and Tae San understand each other as they are, though. They both appear sour and grumpy most of the time. haha. Happy commuting with the gentlemen.

same. I was learnong japanese at the time and the thing I switched on was hana yori dango for some reason. I think it;s because it was trending at the time :) Guess its a first drama for many :) Good memories though.
