i don't really mind spoilers and in particular for twilight zone- I am never going to watch it, so it's all right, but thank you for being considerate.

Winnie..I think it's fair to say that you caught the Monster-bug muahahaha XD I agree- you will not easily find a character like Johann in anime. Oh I loved those episodes. I had many thoughts about them. Keep that picture book in mind- it's absolutely vital later on to understand Johann and Anna's story.

heh. yeah, they should stick to their own view of the story rather than compromise it, I really don't like it when they do it. I am not interested in Twilight but where's the comparison?

Kyoko is nice, I loved how talented she was - in anime. I don;t care much for the drama. Well if the storyline doesn't glue me, then actors alone won't either. Ending is just a crowning glory, it's the story that should be enjoyable, ending can be better or worse but shouldn't detract. Endings usually don't change my enjoyment of a drama. I particularly enjoy open ones when I can decide what the outcome is. There have been some really good ones. Keep in mind though that Korean dramas do not set up anything as a bad story from the start. They often change the storyline in the hopes while they film the drama so they can get better ratings. Sometimes ending gets affected because of that and I really dislike that.

I see. Maybe in Gu the whole package appealed to you- it sounds like it's rather original. Besides having a soft spot for Lee Seung Ki I can't say I find it too strange ;-)
But why did you hate Kyoko? She's a likeable character, well to me in the anime at least and I was impressed with her acting skills in the end; it's a story about acting so I expect a lot more from it in the future because it's interesting aspect. Coffee house wasn't a very good drama. i dropped it right at the start because it just wasn't working out.

No no don't apologize, talking to you is informative enough :) I have been given a few interesting titles and I just ordered one off amazon, it should arrive tomorrow so I"m happy.
I watched some Legal high 2 as it aired. I couldn't resist
checking what' up. Ep 9 was best so far, imho.
I felt Ryoma was quite thorough overall; I'm not nor ever will be a purist in the strict sense of the world so I don't mind if dramas romanticise some aspects a little; I'm always giving any historical drama a little suspension of belief, knowing that no drama will ever be able to fully represent what happened; the purpose of dramas imho is to make history more interesting, bring it to life, so that more people may take more interest in it. I think it's a noble enough mission.

LOL. Hattori sounds like a fun drama topic :P So season 3 would be a prequel? hmm, maybe that would work better as a special/movie. In any case I guess the writers can still come up with something so maybe it;s not where Komikado ends. He is a fun character, especially given it's Sakai who's interpreting. Well I do want to see the finale this weekend. Hmm Mayuzmi vs Komikado would be a fun season to sit through I bet haha, I do like how they play off each other and on each other's nerves.

Thank you! I ordered the Jensen book for now, it should come by next week! yay! I am excited especially since commenter at amazon seems to be sayng some words are nit said by the right people heh. Details. People sometimes want too much of TV I think. I am absolutely heartbroken at the final episodes and how the two parted. I really thought as you do that there is no oter man for Oryo and there is no other woman for Ryoma, those two actors made me believe it so much that I felt like history is really unjust for individuals. Although, to be fair, with such hindsight, should he have even married her? Logically it woukd have been better not to but I guess in the end neither could help themselves. I will not get pver this pair very sooon. I very rarely have such strong crush/ love for a character/pair as here. It's like it took me completely the sheer power of feeling I felt they shared.

I put missing you on hold for now. I needed to focus on one thing, especially since I do feel strongly about this interpretation of the character. Made him so tangible to me. Are you excited about the last episode of legal high 2? I watched episode 9 and I found it really fun. And preview was promising. if they manage to turn the climax upside down again like they did with Saori then I will applaud them.
I liked the portrayal of Hideyoshi in Gou by Kishitani Goro; he seemed like such an unpredictable/unstable figure. I was always verging between sympathy and hate. Maybe I'll explore Sengoku more in the future but for the moment I have developed a taste for the Bakumatsu because of the deep and many changes that are taking place and because of the characters I met. But I feel so deeply sad about Ryoma at the moment that I find it hard to continue knowing what end he is fated to meet.

fate for her and their imminent parting makes me want to stop; I think Ryoma is shown as very much a family man too and can;t help thinking he'd have made a friendly dad. I have now developed a strong interest in reading about the times. Would you have any recommendations? Christmas seems like a good time to broaden one's horizons a little.

Yeah, I can imagine this is a busy period, I'm just having last working day tomorrow myself and afterwards I"m free. I look forward to it and I also hope you will have a restful holiday period once the craziness subsides. Good luck!
I was arrested by Ninko Helper because it does touch on important issues even if the style may be a little dubious at times. I saw both dramas up to some points and I can agree with your disappointment.
Back to ryoma: I developed such a strong crush Ryoma at this point that whenever I think of the ending- he is going to be murdered I feel this deep regret well up and I don't feel like finish the drama. Especially since I took a liking to Oryo and I am painfully sorry for her, especially since she later, as I gather, fell into alcholism. I can't help but think that even though she remarried she remained attached to Ryoma in her heart so it's just such
