"For those used with watching BL dramas with cringey themes and poor shooting quality, dig in. The rest of you,…
I don't insult anyone's intelligence. But if this is how you chosen to see my comment is your problem. Is a reality that most of the BL dramas don't enjoy a big budget and as a result they have to cut on the quality of the things. No-one says that a cheap project cannot be successful, after all most of these projects are saved by the actors skills, chemistry, the good story, etc. And yes, BL drama fans are used with this already. As a BL drama fan you learn to enjoy the story but not look at the other poorly done aspects. I am not saying that those viewers are intelligent, as I am also watching BL dramas from time to time. But as someone who is also watching other types of dramas I can weight the pro's and the con's.
People have their own tastes, like for example I’m not a huge fan of people posting all their negative thoughts…
The same as most of the people have the right to post their positive comments, I also have the right to point out at the weak points of this drama. Life is not all bubbly, and pink. Welcome to the real world, some people will not agree with your views on things and you have to make peace with that. You are welcome not to read my comment and close your eyes.
[QUOTING]"And the ML is a walking Red flag, first episode and he ordered for another guy to be graped??? Then…
The only purpose it served it to show that the ML is ruthless and a psychopath and his opponent is the bubbly, puppy boy who will change him as turn him into a "good boy". I can see where this drama is going with the two opposites in terms of character portrayel. I know BL novel writers tend to go overboard with some of their cruel characterization. I also done my good chunk of reading BL novels. But now let's think that in the whole scene it was a women who would have been gang graped. How would you see the Male character after the done such a thing? Even if he is "redeemable" through love, once a crime has been done, that will not change. And the "mistake" that guy done was not even that serious. He only followed the orders of the ML father. If he had a problem with anyone, he should fight his parents back. But maybe the drama screen writter failed to properly reason that scene and portray how "serious" was the betrayal of that lackey to deserve such a serious punishment.
I came for a masterpiece (based from the comments) but I feel I am watching a kids play. Firstly the editing is a mess, scene > cut> random scene again> cut>next. With no proper transitions, it looks like it was filmed by an amateur. And the ML is a walking Red flag, first episode and he ordered for another guy to be graped??? Then the scenes when he purposely pushed another car into an accident with no aftermath or repercussions. My question was, what was the purpose of that scene? It brought zero importance to the plot. And they skipped straight into something else right after. I expect worse things from this ML side as the drama progresses. And what's with the re-occuring Mafia themes in BL dramas? That are somehow poorly portrayed, almost amateurish. For those used with watching BL dramas with cringey themes and poor shooting quality, dig in. The rest of you, be ready to feel the cringe every other scene and to leave your logic at the door.
I managed to watch a few episodes of this drama but I have to say that the ML is Absolutely horrendous and insufferable! They tried to make him a copy-cat of Duke Su from the Double. But he is Duke Su ordered from Temu. Beside the fact that the actor doesn't hold a candle next to Wang Xue, he barely moves his mouth when talking! Sometimes I hear a voice talking, but his mouth barely moves. And his wig, so f*cking shiny and round, looking like a field ball. He definitely needed a better styling, not as copy-cat of Duke Su that does not even fit this actor facial features. And Duke Su character seemed to have at least some common sense. But this character has None! He keeps investigating the FL when he could easily investigate the way she was raised by asking the neighbours and those familiar to her foster family and find out the terrible fate she had while raised there. And if he had some sense he would have stopped investigating. But it looks like he looks for clues and troubles when he actually shouldn't. Making him just annoying and unfair. Not gonna mention that he goes beyond his jurisdiction to investigate a case that would normally not be in his yard. He was also married in the FL family before so for sure he understand their secrets and dynamics better than anyone else. I only hope that I will be able to complete this drama for the other actors sake and I hope the story will stay interesting. There are other illogical things going on in this drama but let's say I will close my eyes to those for the sake of sticking around.
They altered the story and the ending to create this tear jerking ending. From the posters themselves we had a foreshadow that Xuanyue was a Panther demon and Banxia was supposed to be a half Fox demon. I bet that in the initial ending they were supposed to go together in the Demon realm and live there happily. But IQIYI got possessed by some demons themselves and ruined the story and the ending. Whorever had such a poor sense of judgement should be Fired! Before they ruin even more future dramas.
Banxia's mother is suspicious how does she remain young after coming out of that painting makes her more suspicious…
In the posters for this drama we see behind Banxia character and fox being drawn. That was a foreshadow. The same as we saw a Panther drawn behind Xuanyue. The only characters who had no animal demon drawn on the posters where the human characters. I think Banxia was supposed to be a half demon and her mother a Fox demon. But they cut that part out of the story so they could create the sad ending where Banxia and Xuanyue had to eventually split by being from different worlds. In reality, since they loved each other so much, Banxia would have accompanied Xuanyue in the Demon world. And if she was a half fox demon then there would have been no problems for her living there and living a long, long life without aging.
Wow, today is the day I found out that AI is finally taking over the world!! It's not quite Terminator but damn…
Proof that AI can do more bad than good when used for wrong reasons. Probably AI only drawn a statistics based on other C-drama endings. And now lets be real, Lots of them have an open or sad endings. But the writers and those who worked for this drama still had their own brains they could use it for God's sake.
from 8,3 to 8.1 tf???? this iis actually really good idk why people are rating this show low
Ikr.. wtf is happening. I think the drama caught more attention and now the low brain people also gathered to give their marks. This drama is really refreshing to watch.
Can someone tell me why demons are so rampant in Chinese Xianxias? What’s the lore. It’s upsetting as a Christian…
What an ignorant comment. There are many historical c-dramas to watch out there without the fantasy aspects. In these type of dramas are not portrayed any "demons" in the biblical kind of way as you will see in the Western horror or fantastical movies/series. In c-dramas these are literally mythological sort of beings. Is like saying that you don't want to watch Lord of the Rings because there are orcs. The demons in C-dramas are just as "real" as the vampires, elves or the orcs in western books and movies.
I only managed to see a couple of episodes but I have to say that I already like the magical feeling of this drama. Also it looks like a good quality drama and I like it how is filmed.
No it's not that unrealistic for me.. and yes love can be ridiculous sometimes.. FL married another man cuz she…
She could have been honest with him and tell him. "Look idiot, I am the granddaughter of this family and I had fun with you. It was nice as it lasted but my family decided for me to get married to someone of my level." But ofcourse the story is done more dramatic for the sake of making everything more shocking. Unfortunately is not very well executed. I wish I could have seen the ML really heartbroken and determined to seek revenge. But instead we have a really bad twist of Romeo and Juliete.
A weird drama.I definitely don't like the FL character and the whole "love story" between these two. The loved one betrayed you in an unimaginable way but the next day you kiss with them under the eaves. Unrealistic and Ridiculous! Also this drama is shot in a very dismayed way, the timeline is chaotic. They keep inserting events from the past in the middle of the action, and you have to figure it out if what you see if something from the present timeline or something from the past. I wasn't even sure what I was watching sometimes.
A solid drama. Very consistent from the beginning to the end. The character and the story gains more depth as the story progresses. I almost dropped this after the first episode as I thought that first episode was all over the place. But it's worth watching with every episode. SunZheni is so comfortable to watch as an actress, you can see she understands her character well and is consistent in her portrayal, showing growth as the character expands. Not gonna mention how in love I was with WangDuo throughout this drama, I know many became his fans after this drama. Anyway, I think this drama is a hidden gem and it's worth watching. Maybe even more than other dramas with bigger names in their line-up.
I am surprised how this child actress has more facial expressions and plays better than some adults actors I saw in dramas. I hope she will have a bright future ahead.
The character might be spoiled, entitled, annoying, etc. I saw such characters before, that's not the biggest problem. The actress does not know to play it and she is not the best pick. She is overdoing it and has only one facial expression. The directing of this drama isn't that great either. Even if the actors are not some top notch, if there is a good person behind the scenes helping them to understand their character and how to better play. It could have helped. I am no expert, but I saw dramas before with small budgets and less popular actors which really proved to be a gem just because everyone understood their job.
The only reason to watch this drama is Song WeiLong face card. He and most of the Male characters kill it in those costumes. But there is 0 chemistry between the leads and many scenes are so poorly done, that it's almost funny to watch. Especially those which try to force some awkward close moments between the leads. And besides the FL actress which everyone knows for her average acting skills, we have an even worse Female character in the form of the Princess. I haven't seen a more cringey female character played in a drama in a long time. And the actress doesn't even know how to portray this immature, spoiled princess. She keeps bulging her eyes at everyone.
It's really a pleasure to the eyes to see a properly done Tang dynasty drama. I feel this era is rarely being exploited in C-dramas. I don't understand the low ranking, until now is 10/10 gem of a production. Does anyone know if this is supposed to have 2 seasons? Because if that's the case 2nd season will show up in one year later. According to Chinese regulations they cannot show 2 seasons of a drama back to back. That's what happened with "Lost you forever" too, and everyone had to wait for one more year to see the finale.🥲
