Yea you have a point there. At this point we don't know her backstory with ZXW in her first life, and how much of ZXW is actually in her dream. Her exchanges with ZXW could be from him by her bedside talking to her as she dreams because there was a scene where ZXW was asking her to wake up and that he will face with her whatever challenges await her. There's also a heartbreaking line, which he said "you always put me at the last". And he said that also in a previous scene. I wonder if that is ZXW telling her while she sleeps.

But her giving importance to the bottle medicine means she has feelings for him. And I wonder if there is meaning to the change of color with his clothes. I notice he used to wear white but now he is slowing using other colors. If this is HQ's dream I wonder if there is any meaning....

In ep 26, ZXW asked HQ if she ever did ask him if he was willing to give up everything for her. And also that she never believed him. That whole sequence feels like ZXW in her dream state is all her perspective. It's like she had made up her mind about ZXW and condemn him. There is nothing much he can do.

In another scene, she also did say that ZXW hopefully will understand in the future what the true meaning of "looking after her best interests", which I assume will mean finally realizing letting her go is understanding that is best for her.

I feel these are bread crumbs of what's to come in the next few episodes.

I love it when ZXW didn't do anything when the eunuch whispered to him HQ hit Lady Meng. And also when the guards wanted to take her away, he just glared at them. His action speaks volumes to those who were in attendance. He loves her even if she's a bitch.

I was just wondering like someone said below, he might be a version of ZXW speaking to HQ by her bedside, giving her assurances that he will protect her no matter what happens. This thinking may be quite far-fetched but what if the irony is HRZ is a persona of ZXW. It will all come full circle. I think unlikely but I will be blown away if this is the case...

Not sure about this as the episodes need to be approved by the govt before the drama is released. So typically it's all been decided before it goes on air. Some dramas will do special episodes but I think quite rare.

No I think she meant 2 possible endings, so she doesn't know which one the production will use. This sometimes happens in c-drama.

When she wakes up

A lot of people are condemning ZXW for his actions in ep24 but let's not forget all these are in HQ's dream (2nd life) /her imagination if you would. So it doesn't mean ZXW committed these crimes.

He's very young, only 21. If he keeps performing above par he'll lead a bigger production as ML.

In both her 1st and 2nd life, HQ was self-centered, thinking only about herself, the people around her and her family. She only wanted to make amends (2nd life) to save her family. But through it all, ZXW loved her in spite of her imperfections.

I think Zhou Ye and Wang Xing Yue are the most popular hence they get top billing in this drama (doesn't mean WXY gets a lot of screen time). WXY is also in Kunning Palace. The rest are probably up and coming. In fairness to ZY, she has a lot of hit films even if she is just a supporting.

Also noticed it's a launching pad/vehicle for YZ's talents and other upcoming stars to showcase their acting. Even small characters/ supporting actors are given ample exposures in this drama. Hence the low budget, understated costumes, jewelries (no earrings even!), set location. I don't think the actors are paid much in this drama.

Maybe this is a girl empowerment story. So she will walk her own path, away from everything and everyone. Seems China is very much into girl power themes these days.

Also if HRZ is real in novel, they might not just let this character disappear just like that...

It's becoming depressing. I think there's not much sweet scenes really between FL-ML as what they alluded during an interview. So it might be all down to the ending. And if YZ said that, they might go for open ending?
