In the novel, she loves ZXW but ZXW never found out. He thought HQ loves HRZ. But HRZ knew that HQ yearns/pines for ZXW but opted for a simple life with him. He is grateful in spite of because HQ bore him two sons (?) if I'm not mistaken. So the ending is FL/ML love each other but can't be together but ZXW never knew that HQ loves him so much. He thought he was just the one doing the loving (one-sided). There's more to the ending but too sad when I read it that I didn't even want to write it here.
Side note: I personally don't understand why some authors wanted tragic love story, I think that is embedded to Chinese literature. Or maybe that is more closer to reality than Disney's happy ever after.

I almost missed this one. He loves her dearly. And the scene seems to emphasise the (dragon) pattern of his robe vs what he usually wears. I'm just thinking if in her dream she changed ZXW too, e.g. making him wear white all the time because that is her favorite color... or that he is actually an emperor. And how did she know ZXW love her in her dream state unless he had already expressed his feelings for her in her first life? And HRZ could be a made-up character as he seemed to conveniently appear when she needed help. And no one seems to know him, and asked who he is.

I think this is just fan fiction. So the opening scene may not be from the drama.

Also someone mentioned that there was an interview where the FL/ML said that their love story ended before it even begun. And my experience typically these interviews actually turn out to be true. We might be just in for a ride. And we come back to nothing. Or maybe she ends up with 3ML and follow the novel. Still hoping it will be ZXW.

It's a female-centric drama so the love story is only secondary. And tbh I'm actually increasingly less optimistic she will end up with ZXW. From the trailers, it seems like whether she stays in her dream or wakes up feels like his unconditional love will make him let her go to see her happy. I hope I am wrong as with the little screen time we have of them the more we root for them and get invested. I'm becoming wary. And in my years of watching C-drama they almost always have BE. It seems like they love tragic ending, or at least the screenwriters/directors prefer sad ending. It might be rooted to Chinese literature historically.

She will, at least in the novel. But in the end, it was ZXW who I think granted her. But he was the emperor in the novel.

Netizens in the Chinese streaming site were also guessing (at a lost) as to how the drama will unfold. But most are saying it is ZXW who likely saved her (at the beginning part) and is connected to the scent she keeps smelling while dreaming. I believe there's a scene (hint) in one of the trailers. Also ZXW keeps wearing white (HQ's favorite color).
Someone said it best - when FL went back to her life the second time, she wanted to alter her fate by choosing the one who loves her the most (the bodyguard) vs the one who she loved the most (ZYL) but she wakes up to find that the one waiting for her is actually ZXW.
So if this is how it unfolds then all MLs would have had their moments with the FL. I personally hope it will be this way as I love how ZXW is secretly in love with her but keeps being thought of by FL as having hidden motives. There might also be some clues in the calendar. Seems both ending (VIP/Non VIP) show her with ZXW. Although in the end OST the last scene is with the bodyguard. Let's see...
I also think that this story is better than BFTB and ZY's acting is good here.

I’m liking the bromance of Chu Kong and the 2 disciples. The 2 disciples are great I especially like Ren, the incarnate of evil lord. Although must say their costumes are off for me. Too blue imo.

Anything can happen unless they are married but even then. Some love take time to evolve. And there’s fate. If you are meant to be, will still come around.
