I think some scenes of her in bed sick, incense burning with ZXW could be dream/real life being interspersed (she is coming in and out of dream/hallucinating). We may only know at the end.

Remember it is a dream state so some things don't make sense. Same in real life when we dream it can be jarring.

That would be good, I am not familiar with Yu Zheng's production. Does he tend to go for happier endings vs tragic ones?

I was thinking too that when she was reliving her life in a dream / hallucinating, ZXW is beside her. So he knew what she was going through, e.g. crying about losing her brother the second time. Whenever she is in bed and there's a scent coming out I think that is the real life. So she's maybe going in and out of her dream. Actually the possibility is endless if the screenwriters don't follow the book to a T.

They grew up together. I think HQ has always known ZXW likes her as ZXW insinuated in ep 18. He said something like you knew all along (but just denying). So maybe in her dream he became a romantic interest/ or someone she had developed feelings later after she married ZYL. Also some of the scenes in the dream may have really happened in the 1st life. So she is going back to make things right in the 2nd life but doesn't mean all events didn't happen.

I also find it cute when she asked how long have you been here, and he was so quick to say not long, only 30 minutes. Dude, 30 minutes is long... aint like 5 minutes. Hahaha

But he did say "maybe this is not the right place nor the right time to ask you..." I think the scene wanted to convey that he cannot wait, he wanted to run to her when he was told she was out. Her maid's reaction is very cute... the servants were more embarrassed than ZXW. He looked so cool and calm openly expressing his love, and not afraid to be rejected.

Xianxia is different, eg. TTEOTM that is not considered time travel. Its premise is really fantasy. And it's not modern to ancient transmigration.

It typically applies to modern-to-ancient time travel, you don't see much of that these days. Micro dramas are not yet part of the ruling as these are quite a new form of drama so they still have greater freedom.

Yes that is what I said, she never woke from any dream. Because it was not a dream.

In the novel, she never woke up from any dream. She stayed in her 2nd life. And there's no scent inducing her... so there might still be a twist with the drama. But I must say the screenwriters creatively twisted the setup to use scent (of time) to make her go back/ dream. (As time-travel drama is prohibited in China now). So they might follow most of 2nd life and make a big reveal or twist towards the end. I personally hope she will at least have an OE with ZXW than BE. But I think slim chance based on my years of watching c-drama.
