CL is just Guo Jing rewitten, who haven't met his Huang Rong. 1. They basically have the same personality-the lovable stupid, but smart classic hero with the potential for great kung Fu. 2. CL have the stupid uncle, who not physical blind but is mental blind. While Guo Jing has the blind master that keep try to make him married the princess or Mu Nian Ci, the daughter of his other uncle instead of Huang Rong and was judgmental like Shen Shen. 3. CL live in the mirror lake island and later the four season manor, with it's hidden protection maze-which is basically Plum blossom Island with the maze that he later live with Huang Rong when they go married. 4. Also picking up all those master and secret kung fu
The only romances are between the two cp pairing...and the most “romantic classic wuxia” scenes are between…

Ep 6: When WKX carried ZZS away from the dead men at the funeral home. They even joke about the “beauty being save by the hero” that got lose in translation. 6. 14. Long separation (WKS faking his death) and meeting again at the Hero Conference and staring longing/loving with other other—where is always a hero conference in these drama. Also this happen in The Return of the Condor Heroes, with Xiaolong Nu and Yang Guo. Then they were separated for a while and united at the hero meeting and then had a duel with each powerful person there, similar to what happen to WKS and ZZS.
15. Ep: 32 or 34 (forget which episode): putting him to bed scene—similar scene in The Return of the Condor Heroes, when Xiaolong Nu know that she is going to die and she crying as she said good bye to Yang Guo (who is asleep) like ZZS crying know he is going to die and leaving WKS behind as he put him to bed after WKS got drunk.
16. The ending: ZZS going off to die and asked CL to lie to WKS that he was going to go heal himself and will come back to WKS when he is cure, so that WKS will keep on living. This actually what Xiaolong Nu did to Yang Guo in The Return of the Condor Heroes, except she wrote in the stone and told him to wait for 16 years and jump of the cliff. I see other stories doing this, but they are not HE stories.
Bonus: when they jump in the armory as the snow falling will be trap inside and when they end on the mountain as immortal. This similar to Xiaolong Nu and to Yang Guo again: when Xialong Nu in the beginning decide to close the tomb forever and stay inside, Yang Guo jump at the last moment to be with her and the ending when they reunited the leave the work behind and when up the mountain with one have white hair (Yang Guo-WKS) and other black hair (Xiaolong Nu-ZZS).

If they decide to make a Chinese Supernatural remake, I could definitely see him as Dean and Simon Jun as Sam. They similar build as the American stars and portray similar personalities in certain drama. For those, who watch WOH for the “bromance”, they could get really get a BRO-mance..(^o^), if they keep the same feel as season 1-5...(^v^)
