I thoroughly enjoyed this show. Yang Mi was awesome. The final ten episodes are good and not like some have said. We might not agree with some of the choices by the leads, but the stories are worked through well. Good cast, awesome tortoises and catchy tunes 😊
My thoughts are Lighter and Princess promised so much in the early episodes. The initial episodes were powerful, gripping and the perfect set-up for success to failure to success.
To be honest, although the university years sequence was quite good, I really wanted to stay in the here and now and watch things bloom and grow. So, what I found is the second half played out much differently to what I expected.
I found the last six episodes I watched undermined the whole viewing experience for me, so much so I had decided to walk away from this show with two episodes to go. However, I did ffwd through Ep 35 instead and haven’t bothered with the finale.
I liked the OTP, even though I thought Li Xun was over the top at times. Zhu Yun was suitably dorky. I had mixed feelings about the second leads though. Story wise, I wasn’t convinced re the police investigation into the cybercrime aspects. That’s not how these things would have unfolded.
I liked the OST.
I can appreciate why many rated L&P very highly. For me though, it went from 10 down to 7.5. My conclusion: it is one of this shows you have to watch and judge for yourself.
Overall, a decent sci-fi actioner. It had a good start and finish. The middle sequence needed more depth. The CGI/special effects were superb. Looks like there might be a sequel?
Wonderful - best show of the year for me, and there have been some fine productions. A wonderful performance by Kim Hye soo. The Queen well and truly lived up to the symbol of the umbrella. Graceful from beginning to end. A mother protecting her cubs in the lion’s den and then some. Also, a special shout out to the Queen Dowager. Perhaps, the most menacing adversary I have seen. Sure, we have seen some crazy ones over the years, and they have been awesome. But, Kim Hae Sook portrayed her role as the Dowager from her bones. There are so many other aspects to this show eg we have the Crown Prince and Princess - such a lovely couple. Dive in, immerse yourself in the experience and you will come out the other side with a smile on your face.
I found this to be a pleasant and relaxing watch. This is a story about going against the norm, which I felt was well done. As a bonus, there is beautiful scenery of Japan,.
Once I started, I had to keep watching. This is a solid family show. It had humour, heartbreak, enjoyable romantic couples, bad guys and all happening in a villa, which is something the Koreans do well. I did zoom through the second half, but I was determined to see it through. My favourite character though was Mr Makjang 😂
