Ep8 was brilliant - the best piece of television this year - surpassing even the best scenes in Love Like a Galaxy, Be My Princess, Reset, Rainless Love in a Godless Land and Attorney Woo.
I thought ep 4 was terrific. In fact, so much so, I can’t wait for what happens next. Our leads are wonderful. Jae Hoon is very understanding and very forgiving. Yeo Reum is quite vulnerable and just wants to be loved for who she is 😊
I thought eps 7 and 8 were quite good. Show continues to steadily build its story, similar to building a court case. I think we can all appreciate that nothing is as it seems. I’m up for an unforeseen twist!
I was hoping for so much better as I enjoy a good 50 ep weekender. Unfortunately, I lasted three episodes. I found myself starting to ffwd in the latter stages of ep 2 and most of ep 3. The premise of the story is fine and there is nothing wrong with the acting. There are good moments here and there. However, show is not tight enough and the scenes between past and present are quite a mish mash.
All in all, Little Women is the best out of those dramas that have come before re a mythical tree and flower (yes, there have been others).
Overall, a very fine piece of entertainment that took on a makjang flavour, which I actually enjoyed. Everyone was bonkers. However, I found the final episode a bit of a let down - just one too many kidnappings and a rushed rationale about getting ahead in the orchid society.
There was some terrific performances in this - Uhm Ji Won as Song A was a real delight as the crazed daughter, wife and mother. I thought KGE used wonderful facial expressions to great effect.
The moral of the story - all good things come to those who wait?
Episodes 5 and 6 were very, very good. In fact , show continues to be all class, with wonderful performances throughout. Those last minutes of ep 6 over that cup of coffee were beautiful in my opinion. This is the type of romantic back story inclusion that is fitting for such a show.
A fabulous first episode. Regardless of what happens, you can see already they have not just a great friendship, but the basis of a wonderful relationship. Even the OST is pitched just right 😊
I’m not sure what to say. I appreciate it was a mature melodrama, but it was beyond drawn out. I did ffwd through most episodes.
The acting was good. However, I found, although I wanted the best for Dr Nie, his character did irk me some what. I liked Tan Jian. Vicki was fabulous. Wang Yang always brings a level of credibility to his roles. Pingping was very good.
Despite my frustration, I had to see show through to the end…
Overall, a good show with a good mix of drama, lighter moments and hints of a blossoming romance between the leads. Although I enjoyed the leads very much, I liked Aunty and her growing relationship with the JAG just as much. The villains were good and even though in the middle of the drama it was a bit ugly, and perhaps a bit over the top, show rebounded very quickly. Well worth a look 😊
So, what could have been a very good show became one that was predictable in the final episode in what seemed to be a play for a second season. It appears to me they took the safe bet in terms of an outcome.
The premise of Adamas was a good one. However, I felt show never really made a strong enough case why the Adamas was such a magnet or focus of everyone’s attention. In otherwords, show wasn’t “regal” enough. An arrow that was a sceptre - a symbol of power and one that is symbolic of a transition was underdone. There also needs to be more than one symbol when there is a transition of power.
Throughout, the acting was very good. The characters I liked. However, I found our prosecutor a little too “intense” at times.
Still, overall, show was a steady thriller, in fact superb at times. It just didn’t need a Kdrama finish, if that makes sense?
