The ML met her a few times you can count on your fingers and he started acting like a total creep. If we dont knew the context of him being the ML, it would totally creep us all out!
The more I watch it, the more the ML gives me the ick!!! I know they are going to show that he is just scared of SCC because he thought she was a bully as a cop out but it really just boils down to him being a judgemental prick.
I really wish they had used the same actress with special FX makeup. Also, why is queen Luo Qiu Yun so underrated??? She should get more MC roles, her acting is flawless and so are her expressions. And they could have done a better job with Landy Li, so basically according to them someone who dresses normally and doesnt wear a lot of eye catching makeup is "unattractive"???
I dont like her acting if it can be called acting. Also she has no range of expressions. There is word for people like her in my language which essentially means 'with expressions like spoilt milk' and she is exactly that. Her face is perpetually sad
Comments say the ending is good, so you mean the novel ending is tragic?
There is a hint that SYS's son and WJ's daughter might have a love angle in the future or atleast SYS's son cares about her in the novel epilogue which I thought was super cute and just the thought of WJ hating the idea makes me giggle. There is also more of the ML and FL backstory that goes past when they are shown to met in the show.
Agree. This actress was not the right choice. I’m not moved by her at all so far. Bai Jing Ting is doing great…
Yeah he is believable Sang Yan which is still better than the female lead. But Sang Yan should be constant between the two novels, just different aspects of his personality come out in different situations. Although he is described as broody tsundere type in the First Frost, he still should have the liveliness that his sister's POV reflected in Hidden Love which I feel is missing a bit.
I am not feeling ZRN as YiFan at all. In the novel she is such a complex character, ZRN has like two expressions, girl cannot emote with her face at all!!!
I would also have preferred Victor Ma but I think BJT will grow on me maybe. I see Sang Yan inherently shares the spark of liveliness with his sister (which is a reflection of a loving family they grew up in compared to the people they fall in love with and was reflected very well in both sibling actors in Hidden Love) and BJT's eyes dont reflect that spark mixed with brooding dark emotions yet.
I am really not feeling both Go A Ra and Chang Ryul in their respective roles. Especially ML, I think he really doesn't come across as a playboy or mischievous. I think its his eyes, the seriousness peeps though even though he is trying his best. Someone with some mischief and brightness in their eyes would be perfect for this role. And Go A Ra isnt really doing justice to the hard headed, sulky, mischievous FL either.

I thought the novel is better than the drama, less red tape so the writer could write more freely. For such a short novel, I think the writer has done a decent job. The way things work with China, I feel people really cant tell real raw stories without looking over the shoulder which is a shame but you can get a glimpse of it here and there in novels.
TBH, I did watch the first ep and I like the ML (yes I'm shallow, what of it?) But it's the FL that caught my…
In the novel he is a soldier eventually. So China doesn't send active military personnel to aid foreign countries. The way the original novel author took creative liberties by having the male lead told by the army that he is on a secret mission and that if he wins, no one will sing his praises and if he dies, the Chinese military will not take accountability. This is after he becomes a soldier, I think he ends up being a Major. The drama writers are having him be a volunteer throughout I guess and never turning into a soldier is my assumption because of censorship. Lets see how the drama unfolds.
Genuine question—was it ever explicitly mentioned that she can only report from outside her country and not…
Ah, I see. So we're just embracing ignorance now? Bold strategy. It’s cute how you’re doubling down instead of admitting you had no clue what you were talking about. ‘This is fiction!’—right, because why bother understanding context when you can just flail around and hope no one notices? Don’t worry, its not worth it to expect you to hit the books; that would require effort. But hey, keep barking—I’ll be right here, watching you trip over your own words.

Oh, you don’t even know what CCP means? That’s adorable. That alone tells me everything I need to know. Maybe hit the books before diving into discussions way out of your league. It’s cute how your feelings got hurt the moment an adult started discussing something beyond your depth
