If he was having an affair, they wouldn't give us all of these ambiguous "hints". So, no - he is not cheating.…
i'm kinda suspecting that he has another identity besides his family, like a powerful boss of a club or organization or something, and he's been doing everything and knowing everything behind the scenes to protect his family using his connections, which is why he told his wife that "it's best to not know everything and that she doesn't have to." He definitely knows something that we don't. This may be a reach, but I won't be surprised if this is the case.
he just woke up from depression, bro is learning, it's realistic to how human beings are especially after "recovering"…
yes, it's obvious they won't neglect the father daughter dynamic since Ina is heavily emphasized and shown in the drama, thus proving her importance in the story instead of just a schoolgirl that is bullied and has a crush on a boy. That's too one dimensional. I'm 90% sure she has a purpose in this "Atypical" story.
he blames himself for the death of her own mother and doesn't believe he deserve to be her dad, hence why he never…
people suffering from major depression like he does cease to think rationally in life. That explains his behaviors for the past 6 years. Which is why his own daughter kinda hates him. So it's not something he could control voluntarily, mental illnesses and guilt is a strong force that affects everyone daily around the world. You stop caring for life and is kind of a living shell of yourself.
Must understand him for now since we are still early, you can judge him harshly when he makes no effort/zero character development at the end of the drama. There's still a lot of room for improvements.
am I the only one that likes flawed characters with their ups and down and then us seeing their slow progress in becoming a somewhat "better" person later (hopefully)? It's refreshing to see characters that aren't angels or saints off the bat like every typical romance dramas since it's realistic to an extent and gives depth to the characters. Expecting green flags booktok character leads right away is just too common and partly unrealistic for a drama that prides in being "Atypical" in themes.
I hope they just don't ruin the ML, the rest of the characters are amazing and are somewhat influential except…
it's intended as a romance drama, we got 6 more episodes for his development. I'm sure it'll start being genuine soon with broken relationships being rekindled back.
I was happy to see Gwi Joo trying to talk to his daughter and make her breakfast. Man was that short-lived. He…
he just woke up from depression, bro is learning, it's realistic to how human beings are especially after "recovering" from mental illnesses. He will be corrected on his mistakes at some point in the drama, it's only episode 5, there is still tons of episodes left for development progress.
Female lead aside if any one needs character development then it's the male lead don't get me wrong I tried to…
well, he did make some efforts, albeit slow and small increments of progress (him cooking for her is a step), it means he's building up the courage and will power to bond with his daughter. He just needs to be consistent. We'll see more in later episodes, it's too early to judge the poor man, since he's literally taking his first step lmao. Gotta be realistic atp. These characters are never meant to be angels, drama showed us very well, they are all very gray in their own respective area and we as audiences have to get used to morally grey characters and not expect perfect characters like other romance dramas since this drama is going for the "atypical" route.
I wasn't going to judge at the beginning of the drama but Gwi Jo needs to do better by his daughter. I understand…
he blames himself for the death of her own mother and doesn't believe he deserve to be her dad, hence why he never understood HOW to be a dad. Of course, this is slowly changing in small increments, you could perceive this however you want, but relationships aren't healed/built in a day. You may be angry with his efforts on bonding with his daughter to be too slow or uncaring, but trust me, deep inside he WANTS to understand her but doesn't know HOW and it's something that he has to learn himself by going through ups and downs.
I'm just waiting for Gwi Joo's hero complex obsession to come crashing down around him. He's get absolutely fixated…
his obsession actually is meant to compliment Da Hae's upbringing and past. Da Hae never had anyone that acknowledged her existence or somebody to "obsess" to her. She always felt invisible and helpless, and the ML's obsession just might make Da Hae realize that there are still people who cares for her and acknowledge her as a human being that exists. Now it's pretty obvious that the ML was never the one who saved her in the past, that's 100% the boss firefighter that died. I think the drama will attempt to humble and give him a reality check about his past and free himself from the chains of guilt. Remember, this drama aims to be atypical or different, so it may seem confusing but it'll wrap up nicely at the end (hopefully).
The private investigator told the ML's father in episode 5 that the "sauna-loan shark lady" is notorious for always…
the uncle might be a mole in the future and helps out Da Hae and possibly the Bok's family. He seems very interesting despite being and appearing stoic and clueless, he actually may be very observant. BUT he could also be the loan shark's lady right hand man for murder responsible for previous murders.
He went from let's-wait-for-love-before-registering-the-marriage to completely besotted, all in the space of a…
he's actually not tough, he was just a rookie firefighter with a massive heart to save people, it's who his character is and we see this with the very first couple episodes of his childhood past where he always attempts to save someone or something with his powers.
I love the fact that this drama satisfies all tastes, young and old alike, and this is a positive thing. You have…
it's incredibly hard to keep MDL comments civilized because everyone just comments outlandish and even harsh words out of pure spite of emotions they felt personally by them projecting.
I am so annoyed by ML now.Earlier,i tried to understand that he was feeling guilty about his colleague death so,kept…
you didn't see the effort that the ML tried to do to bond with his daughter? He's at an awkward phase/stage of relationship building with his daughter after neglecting her due to his depression and doesn't know where to proceed without guidance. It may seem little, but it will gradually build up, we already see Ina's perplexed reaction when her dad started cooking for her when she goes to school in the morning. It's a step somewhere, his daughter's awareness of her own dad's changed action for her is enough to sail the boat off the shores.
How am I gonna root for this couple when I dislike both of them? actually now I hate the ML more than FL because…
girl... he doesn't know how to be a dad and he's at least trying. His gesture with the jacket is him attempting to change, even if it's little. He's attempting to open his heart back. He doesn't have a savior complex or is obsessed with his past; it is the accumulated guilt and burden that he had to carry all by himself stacked on top of major depression relapses and struggles, therefore every moment, he is involuntarily brought back into a traumatic and guilt tripping moment. When everything starts to connect, of course he's going to be curious about his past now that he knew Da Hae was the girl his boss tried to save desperately and may be the key for him to make changes in his past. Give him a rest and stop being so harsh.
The guy literally has to multi-task so many shit in his life, with depression, survivor's guilt, self-blame, learning/figuring out how to be a dad with NO help and guidance, and trying to understand his internal feelings/love for a girl he thinks would give him hope again. That's a lot to carry by himself when his grandmother doesn't even bat an eye to him and his struggles.
seeing a crying Da Hae and her finally showing at least a part of her true self and who she is just makes me wanna give her a big hug so bad, I know our ML is going to be her healer that encircle her with love, one that she never got to experience and feel, and our FL is going to be the hand that gives our ML a purpose and meaning to his once empty and blameful life.
as someone who suffers from a trauma, fl portrayed the panicking scene so well it brought me to tears, ive never…
the fact that she acts really well on portraying not just a regular trauma seen in most forms of media but a real visually stimulating post-traumatic stress disorder which is very similar to the shell-shock disorder seen in soldiers where a person may disassociate from reality and freeze up entirely.
Must understand him for now since we are still early, you can judge him harshly when he makes no effort/zero character development at the end of the drama. There's still a lot of room for improvements.
