I just realized I hate every drama this screenwriter has written. But I'm going to watch regardless because I like the three main leads.

Most dramas with long episodes like The Untamed are draggy. That's why dramas can only have episodes under 40. It still doesn't negate that a lot of people still consider it to be a masterpiece. My reasoning for mentioning the untamed was to show he has directed more dramas then "beauty of resilience" and that shouldn't take away his other works.

I was making two points in my initial statement. The "Phoenix Trope" has nothing to do with the director. It was written in the novel and it's a vital part of the story. Also the CGI has nothing to do with the director either that's all on the visual effects team.

The only thing the director could be at fault for in this drama would be the editing.

Why would you compare this to Beauty of Resilience, just because they have the same director. He also directed the untamed and other acclaimed dramas. The story also has nothing to do with the director. This is based off an original novel.

I feel like Zhang Miao Yi would kill the role as the FL if she was offered the part.

Cheng LI is already in Legend of the Female General and is said to be casted in another one of her novels "The Reborn Noble Girl Is Hard to Find". So I don't think it matter especially if the stories aren't in the same universe.

You're right. I hope they reconsider and go back to the drawing bored or stick to "Ask the Stars" Which is a far superior title.

It was really cute. The ending was trash but still a Solid 8. Also the romance tag should be removed. Virtually 0 romance in this just a one-sided crush.

From the synopsis this sounds like a cheating drama. So, this isn't for me.

The trailer looked boring, the synopsis doesn't sound that interesting but Bai Lu is in it so I'll give it a try when it airs. It might actually surprise me

I do. That's why I'm critical when it is not needed in a drama. And what does this have to do with anything that I said? Most of the dramas I watch actually have open endings.
