Obviously I'm in the minority but I didn't mind Xiu Ming's screen time since I felt it was used to wrap up what…
I didn't like him at first but he redeemed himself in the last quarter of episodes especially after we saw what happened in the past. He truly did love the FL.
I'm holding on hope that this will air this year. I've noticed that South Wind Knows My Mood and The Nest are being aired years after being filmed. Most likely because Song Yi had great success with Destined and Cheng Yi with Mysterious Lotus Casebook. Meet Yourself and Road Home were also successful this year.
Aside from the insanely attractive ML and the chemistry between leads, there is nothing else going for this drama. The plot is abysmal and the characters are dumb. The amount of times these people could have called the cops but didn't or the amount of times the ML had to come and save the FL was redundant and excessive. This gets a 6.5 for me.
I'm only on episode 5 but I hate the King. and can't stand the second ML.
Why would you have scholars a.k.a people who most likely have never wielded a weapon a day in their life come and save you? Then people around him are telling him that people are starving and dying and this man has no response. He's so pathetic and weak and only cares about himself. Why would anyone risk their lives to save him? That's why I like the ML he sees the bull and isn't afraid to call it out.
The second ML is a chop for me. Instead of trying to protect the king, he should be by his future wife's side or the FL (because he's clearly is in love with her even if he's too weak to admit it). But for some reason, the King is more valuable than their lives. I don't see how he had two women fall for him.
I guess I see the appeal. Domineering FL CEO and Sweet ML Doctor--a.k.a good role reversal does sound like it'd be worth the watch. And at first, it actually was a pretty decent show the FL had all the tropes a male domineering CEO would have but I'd say around the 20-ish episodes is when all that good execution the drama built went down the drain.
So many things ruined this show for me: -The amount of episodes was too excessive for a plot this simple. (I'd say 22-24 episodes would have been more than enough for this drama). -Less screen time with the side couples. I wouldn't have minded them if their love stories were actually good/decent. But both were terrible and I found Tang to be annoying and the 2FL to be pathetic the way she begged Simon to be with her. -A crisper plot. I felt like the plot went haywire and the writer(s) didn't even try to clean it up. -The reason the FL left was so anti-climatic and stupid. I wish the writers would have come up with something better. She could have joined him in Germany for a year and problem solved. -The Villian being forgiven like what is this???
I gave this a 7.0. And I don't foresee myself ever rewatching this mess. I don't blame the actors they did their job it was just the material they were given that let me down.
I like your username. That drama was interesting even if it was a bit short and ended abruptly.
I can promise the last episode will make you smile not sad. Some people don't believe the last episode was real (they think it's a dream and some of us don't think it's a dream and think it's real. So that's what I mean when I say you can either think of it as a HE or a SE.
But either way, the last episode is not sad. I'd watch. The ML is one of the best husbands in dramaland.
I was trying to give enough info without spoiling it for you.
I know Chu Kong's brother is evil but the man planned everything so meticulously that I can't help but to stan. What can I say I'm a sucker for smart villains.
