I’m Also In 30s And I Like Every Genre xD And My One Friend Is 50+ And He Love These Kind Of Drama And He Recommended…
You're right it doesn't matter. I personally just found it more appealing to watch people around my own age and I didn't think I could relate to someone younger. But I was proven wrong. These kinds of dramas really remind you of your youth.
Yes I agree that there are many times where other cultures have been depicted in a negative way (Shooting stars,…
I'm sure bombing the show with a 1/10 and complaining under MDL comments section will change things.
Nothing about my comment is ignorant (I'm just being a realist). If you watch Asian Entertainment for years. You go in knowing that there might very well be stereotypes but people like you continue to watch. Hence why Asian dramas are becoming even more popular. To make a real stance is literally to stop watching but no one is going to do that. The ratings for this drama when it airs will still be high.
I'm sorry but I just can't with the outrage in the comments/reviews. I'm a black woman with a Muslim father that grew up watching anime, so there's a lot of stuff I had to get over to enjoy watching it. I'm to the point that I'm now just numb to anything that may seem "problematic".
Let's be honest if you want to watch Asian entertainment of any kind you have to shrug off some things (I can't tell you how many times a character has depicted fair skin as the best shade and trashed someone with darker skin or badly depicted Africa).
You might find this comment rude but I'm just stating facts.
*Side note bombing this with a one-point review does nothing but make people want to watch it even more*
I want to start by saying that I don't watch Youth dramas. I'm pushing 30 so I always feel like I'm too old to watch this kind of stuff but I think this drama completely changed my mind. It was an easy 10/10.
The Fl was so cute and bubbly (I loved her in Please Don't spoil me but she was exceptional in this more) and so likable (it was impossible for the ML to not fall for her). I also loved that she wasn't some pushover. She stood up for herself and others in her own way.
The ML is my kind of lead. He's a man of a few words, calm, kind, and only has eyes for the FL.
I also loved the group of friends but not going to lie Guan Fang was my favorite. His relationship with his grandma was so adorable.
There's so much more I can say about this drama but I'd be typing all day. Just go watch this if you're feeling down. This will cheer you up.
This drama was a 10/10 for me. The thing I loved the most about it was that 98% percent of the drama was solely focused on the leads. No side couples to steal the screentime (although I wouldn't have minded more VIctor Ma). 25 Episodes was the perfect amount but I'm also greedy enough to admit a wedding and time jump of some insight of how their careers were going would have been a nice touch.
I'm so mad that I'm caught up. I promised myself I'd just watch an episode a day but I ended up binging all the episodes to the wee hours of the morning. I usually have more self-control when it comes to watching shows in moderation, but this was so good that I couldn't stop watching.
I've been a fan of Guo Han since Love is Sweet. So I'm happy to see him in another leading role. The leads have such good chemistry that honestly I could care less about the plot. And the wardrobe is amazing (this show and Hidden Love are tied for best wardrobe in 2023 so far).
I think I find it more concerning that people are imagining/interpreting this way. They must picture something…
I agree with you a hundred percent about everything you said. I don't even know how anyone's minds could go there watching this show. Also I think the young FL actress was perfect. For an 11 year old actress she was acting better then most 20+ year old actors/actresses.
On Reddit and multiple articles, I kept seeing posts stating how uncomfortable they are watching the younger FL actress with the ML in scenes. So I watched the first four episodes today to try and understand; only to be left with confusion because I felt no discomfort while watching them on my screen.
Jia Xu has been nothing but a gentleman and he truly treats Sang like a little sister. It's literally a one-sided crush that I think a lot of us can relate to. I use to have a thing for my Uncle's best friend even though he was seven years older than me. It never went anywhere outside of my one-sided crush because he saw/treated me as a kid rightfully so.
What's wrong with the FL being clingy and persistent? I bet if it was the ML doing this, you'd be all for it,…
Are you dense? Or just can't understand basic reading comprehension? I stated numerous times I liked the FL and she has become one my favorite FL's. Why not comment under the people who are bashing her? I did find her clingy and quite persistent and I'm not taking those words back (because she is) but I actually grew to love her the more I got to know her character. Is that so hard to understand? It has nothing to do with her being a female.

There is a clingy persistent male in this drama and I cant stand him. If my comment hit a nerve for you thats on you. I gave the drama a ten so I clearly grew to love the FL like I said. You know how many dramas I watched where FL pursues the ML? Its nothing refreshing or new.
