the story's treatment of suicide was tone-deaf and devoid of sympathy. that's society for you"suicide is an unforgivable…
Both that claims suicide is selfish and the story devoid of sympathy and capture suicide in a narrow perspective equally one sided.
You see, suicide may comes from very complicated origin but it indeed not something to be put into the light. Life is hard, equally hard. For those who are born in war field, in the land of starvation, or even under the roof of prosperity. There would always a reason for making life hard and unbearable. Yet, suicide should never be the answer or even option.
You know... It's suicide prevention done well š I'm kind of seeing my mundane life in a different light š„° Well-written emotional roles coaster fiction!
I am in the point of tiring with their smooth lovey dovey and keep binged on it for the dubbing part. š Well to be fair, it's so interesting and China takes dubbing seriously. I found it more fun to watch then their smooth stagnant relationship.

I'm not following Weibo or other social media, but as far as I know Liu Yuning had quite ridiculous unreasonable hatred online. Maybe it does affect the rating in mainland or maybe something else which I don't know either. It's enough for me as long as I have good drama waiting for me in the end of my tiring day š glad you like it too
hmmm, if this is that good, how come this section counts at only 5268 as of 02:00 9 Dec Beijing Time? This has…
Not all good drama have viewers! Some high rating drama might be really good but not all good drama have a high rating. The correlation isn't equal! So doubt it after you watched couple episode, don't let majority taste influence yours. You have your own, right? Taste I mean, or maybe not?
This drama is clever, thoughtful, and stupid at the same time š With such prestige Six Realms organisation had in their record, how? How could they miss a lot all the time? I see all this commotion was for the plot but it is still š quite comedic in a very sarcastic way. I like the premise tho. And every time it ended up well. Take the Princess/prince Li for example. I love how in the end the writer makes the princess kill her lover. I would do the same if I was the writer. For the sake of the princess's character development. As if the writer has yet to decide whether to be solid or entertaining. Well, with that refreshing plot and premise, a little foolish pavement they crave for the goal is bearable š I am very much enjoying it. č½ē¶åå®å®ēåé³čæęå¾ ęé« āŗ
I give it 9 just for the epic both lead character acting š the story is so so, lack of depth. The characters is two dimensional. The back sound is thrilling. But the acting is top notch! I like Jun's acting since his debut. I knew he once an idol but I feel like actor suited him better. Shin Hye Sun's acting is definitely unquestionable since Mr. Queen. Their acting save the film lol š There's some cases like that you see, when the actor saves the trashy story and this is one of it. At least I enjoyed it till the very end hahaha
Ok I'm currently in episode 15, I admit both lead characters were amazing. The story was good and enjoyable. But I found alot other characters build too two dimensional for the sake of lead character. I also found out Young Master Chui overacting unbearable. Well generally I always uncomfortable with overacting. The question is, should I give it a shot? Is it worth for me to invest more of my time and money to this drama? š please enlighten me!
Now what? I'm just done watching the very last episode and emptiness began to hit the spot š Well, every cast in this drama played their role well even Xue Shu. As much as she was the antagonist in this story, her decision to be the concubine gave very tasty dynamic to the plot. The basic needs of good drama were fulfilled. Good story, a logical plot, and terrific acting. Made me able to point out more technical inconveniences of this drama. Something like the overplay hyper focus camera angle since the very beginning. The close-up shoot and hyperbolic backsound that was played too often made them less significant the more they played it.
I love how reasonably toxic Xie Wei and Jiang Xuening's relationship is š Xie Wei stays true to his character till the very end, although bullying and showing favouritism to your kid even as a 'joke' wasn't something wise to do. Remember, kids might not yet be able to understand adult jokes. They tend to perceive everything seriously. That's why even the smallest and most ridiculous things from our childhood could leave an incurable wound. But that's another thing, overall I very much enjoyed this drama 9/10 Still waiting for JoL 2 tho š
