You helped me to drop this. I was really struggling. I usually like easy watching and fluff but something about this was not working at all and yes, the FL character is stupid. I find that most drama's where the FL is an actress by profession, they make her incredibly spoiled and vapid and babylike and its really off putting because I am sure most actresses are not like that in real life. In such, I really don't get how a talented doctor would find her appealing past maybe her looks. But even then I also didn't feel much chemistry between them to even sell it that much. What makes her so different from all the other ladies who have a crush on him and try to get his attention? Nothing other than she' the main lead and she's even worse than them. I struggle to believe this character is an adult.

I'm trying really hard to get through this but this is the second drama that I find that I cannot complete an episode and it may take me 3 tries/ days to watch an episode. Something is really off with it for me. I usually like this type of stuff but I think the FL doesn't make much screen impact, the romance development feels forced, the male actor seems to be struggling to figure what his character is supposed to be maybe, perhaps the story line or directing is off as well. It has all the elements that usually grab me and I enjoy but something isn't gelling well and even skipping scenes I am not gripped. Lots of filler nonsense too that really has nothing to do with anything. I think I am going to drop this at ep 7. Maybe I will try and finish ep 7 but so far it's been a bit of a disappointing ride.

I personally didn't mind lack of kisses as its pretty typical in Asian dramas that they are few and far between and in a drama of this type/genre I certainly didn't expect as much as we got. The second one was a pleasant surprise. I still waiting for Viki to air the remaining 3 eps and we shall see what else we get if any. Either way I am happy.

That was one big flirt fest from the get go with a great underlying message about life and regrets, fear and change.
They also really said things I never expected them to outright say that got me blushing coz I wasn't expecting it. Oh and that bed scene was definitely a euphemism for some woohoo. Got me wondering if this was a 18+ show for a moment. Excellently acted and shot.

I didn't think I would need this but turned out I needed it baaad. It was everything an necessary and so deep and meaningful and beautiful and perfect. It made the 1st one make more sense. and have more substance. Of course in classic Kdrama style there always needs to be a period of separation. It is very rare in a KDrama to have a couple not be separated for an extended length of time at some point. I have no idea why this is but I choose to ignore that they even do this these days because it is stupid and an overdone trope.

I also am in 28 now and they tidied things up a little more now so I’m also 😊

When it comes to these dramas I don’t ever expect too much skinship. It’s always like this. Kisses are few and far between if there are any at all.

But that was the whole point? She is a country bumpkin far from the norm who didn’t have much of an education compared to palace people but is still knowledgeable about many things that palace people are not but ultimately naive. But she works hard and thus learns a lot and is able to compete with them. She also has amazing confidence in herself and in turn wins the hearts of the stuck up people around her. I didn’t see any major bullying from anyone to the other sister who isn’t evil btw and doesn’t do anything outrageously bad. To see a perfect heroine is boring in my book as it leaves no room for character growth and development. I mean this is also a comedy so I don’t expect too much deep and meaningful but it’s a nice balance so far.

Thanks so much. I have noticed that around the room 22/23 mark the story telling us getting really messy and random and there are really jarring and awkward cuts within scenes. I don’t know what is going on with this production. I was really enjoying it before and now I’m hoping the conclusion won’t let me down and will make everything make sense.

There was a scene in ep 23 where the prince was injured and apparently there was an attack or something and the Queen was applying medicine and crying because he was hurt but I can't find the scene of how this even happened at all. Is viki missing and episode or scene or something. It just like jumped from the previous episode they are talking about conceiving and then the other prince drugged them so they fell asleep so he could search the room and then scenes of other people (the whole 'formula' thing came out of no where too) and then all of a sudden he was injured in his bed?? I'm so confused.

Help there seems to be a scene missing on Viki or maybe it was always like this ep 22-23

It's like that in the book that is why they have their own story because their relationship is a slow burn with a lot of nuance and it will take a lot more time and effort to truly appreciate it. Since this is focussed more on KinnPorsche then we get less of them and less of PorchayKim who also had hardly any mention in the book too. Perhaps we will get a VegasPete spinoff to tell their story in more depth because of the mental and emotional depth of these two characters, unpicking their relationship will need tiiime and exploration. I'd love to see when Vegas goes to Pete's grandmother and all that stuff around that but we shall see if they have enough story for that. The KinnPorsche book was open ended and I do not know if there will be a second book but at least the directors have everything setup to make it their own.

Every episode in this series adaptation has been solid. I am glad they didn't make Porsche as stupid as in the book and the changes they made to the story was for the better. Can't wait for next week!

Yeah I know he was in History as well but contracts don't usually work like that. Small Taiwanese BL world I guess.

I think the book did a good job at rationalising Pete and not making him a stock holm syndrome victim. It may be less clear in the show because so much is left out and inner thoughts too.

I also wish they showed more of Pete's relationship with food and how Vegas bends over backwards to get him what he likes.

I really don't know how they can wrap up this story in 2 episodes as theres is so much to unpack and we aren't getting enough Kim Porchay scenes! I thought that the story was going down a different route to the novel this ep but it seems they are bringing it back to the novel's trajectory. They also cut down VegasPete storyline for obvious reasons but they need their own show to unpack all that hot mess of a relationship. I seriously need more KimPorchay though!
