If Ji Xing ex-bf start to date one of her friends… I gonna hate his role😪 thought he’s a good one but got…
But what exactly makes the best friend a bad person to date? I don't think she intentionally sabotaged their relationship. During that dinner when she spoke to the ex boyfriend in the kitchen, she looked to make sure FL wasn't nearby, I know for sure cause I suspected she did it intentionally but FL wasn't nearby when they started talking. And when the ex bf came to help her with the break in she encouraged him to talk to FL and carry out the proposal. Which is good advice. She liked him, but she didn't sabotage her friends relationship. Neither did she pull any moves on him. Even when she gave him money she stated that it's cause they're friends and he's engaged to her best friend. Putting aside toxic girl code, there is nothing wrong with them getting together now. Might be painful for fl, but feelings are feelings.
Why is the ratings so low. I’m reluctant to start watching
I had low expectations because of the rating, but I've been looking froward to this collaboration so I decided to watch. It's really amazing. They're aren't a lot of pull your hair out moments. Things flow kind of logically. I suggest you give it 3 episodes to decide if it's for you. So far (I'm at episode 9, it's going really well)
Still on the early episodes...I'm wondering how her "business partner " intended to actually run his business,…
Neither does he have managerial experience or industry connections. It seems all he had to enter was proposal that he needed her help to edit. It's basically her own business
We need to enforce a complete blanket rule no ratings and not even reviews until at least 80% of the drama has…
I agree. I've loved him in a few dramas but if you look at his page barely any of his dramas are up to 8/10. And he seems like to big a name, plus his acting is good for that. And sometimes I take ratings seriously. Cause like, I've got a lot to watch, I'm not willing to take the risk of a low rating drama.
So... If I'm getting this right the leads from L&P and You are desire switched up partners? (To do this and Reborn This will be nice to see. I'm happy to watch Arthur again either way
I'm thinking of starting this show cause I love the FL, but first let me get this clear. One of them is going to die? Is this a thruma? Like Angels fall sometimes?
Honestly, the Chinese trope of forgiving even the most vile parents is one of the most annoying ones. At least in this show we can all tell the mother is trash, and she was at least shamed at the end. She's one of the worse mothers, but I think the mother in Best choice ever, beats her to number 1 a little, mostly because she had a way of always looking like she's a good mother, and her analysis truly can be out of love and reality. I'd love to watch a show where the parents were actually cut off for something serious
I wish to see a drama where the leads actually learn to move on and actually meet someone they love. Not everyone…
Like a reply said, when that happens the first love becomes SML. I also agree with you that the trope can be unhealthy. Cause the characters sometimes go through hell and back rather than just moving on But examples, Best Choice Ever. It's a 2024 drama with a super annoying mother. But FL did ended up dumping her first love after trying. But his character was ruined by the way he handled it. First love (2022) with Tang Xi Wei, FL didn't end up with her first love despite following him to the same university and being in the same friend group with him. They tried to remain friends even after. Put your head on my shoulder, ML wasn't the FL's first love, although she was his first love. Story of minglan too, leads didn't end up with their first love. But they all got happy endings. There's one more show I'm trying so had to remember, but I didn't complete that show so it didn't leave much of an impression. But I remember the FL crying so much when the SML left the country and when he came back her behavior was so suspicious even though she was already with the ML. I was convinced that if the SML ever gave her signals, she would dump ML for him so I dumped the show.
The good thing about watching a 10 years old show is there are plenty of warnings out there. I know what scenes…
Also, FL had 3 sets of friends. Her childhood friend and sister, who are good people but just pessimistic and always on guard(after all the possiblity of what happening to her is so low). Li Shu and Yue who for half of the show were green snakes (I hated that Yue did that, when FL literally treated her as a big sis and ML confided in her). Then her co-workers who are basically gossips.
She's someone who would thrive living alone. Cause her thought process, unaltered are very good. I don't blame her for taking their inputs. It just didn't fit her particular life story. And truly at the beginning her capabilities weren't much, so her lack of confidence was grounded I love that at the last few episodes she didn't listen to anyone's advice. Cause she started to get confident in her own analysis and capabilities.
The good thing about watching a 10 years old show is there are plenty of warnings out there. I know what scenes to skip and which characters to not care about from the beginning. Reduces the irritation by far, the Leads were cute and sweet. They should talk more, but when they did talk it was very clear. I guess this came out before people started emphasizing being best friends with your partner. Cause their relationship is very traditional. The didn't become friends until towards the end. The twist at the end, making her start a business was well done to me. Normally dramas spoil the last few episodes with unexpected twists, but this one worked for me. Especially since it helped them become friends. Built their relationship without any major thruma. She already had enough to deal with that kiss (at the bare minimum he should have pushed her away, good thing FL didn't forgive him to easily) It's not perfect, but it was worthwhile. They both made efforts for the relationship which is ideal for me. ML never did cut off Li Shu (which is sad). I loved that FL was fine if they had to break up. Her life didn't crash just because of him, through she needed a little encouragement. But the Leads both found a way to make love rivals profit them.
Recently I've been rewatching old kdramas and cdramas. Especially the rich boy poor girl type. I just have to come back and say this is one of the few dramas where the ML considered how his affections will affect the FL's life. With gossip and all. Or maybe it's cause this is way down in 2023 and his father also had that type of romance? Either way. This is another plus for this show. ML and FL were careful to consider how their getting together would affect FL with gossip and all.
never in my life I watched something so slow yet so good at the same time
I couldn't believe I watched a 73 episode drama. And rewatched it quite a few times. Me, who can barely push through a 40 episode drama. And has skipped episodes for 24 episodes dramas. Story of minglan is my standard for cdramas. Minglan is my standard for FLs. But it was honestly very slow. I think good directing and good writing made it worthwhile.
The series started with a very good premise, with a very interesting and particular plot, until 15-16th episodes.…
I've been waivering between putting this on hold or just watching. Your comment was all I needed to cement my feelings. I saw a comment about the flow according to the novel and she acted pretty much this way till the end. I'm sad it's turning out this way, but thankful I got out before this nasty turn of events.
Same here, but I think I'll just take a break and see how things end.FL disappoints me more than her mom. She…
Her feelings are valid. But you're right. She's kind of just walking all over ML. For instance, kissing him in a small town where he lives and works. The rumors, she only considered that after it had spread. Or her shouting outside the cinema. And the last straw for me, her saying "force" in that context. Also, her communication skills could be improved. She's not a terribly bad character. It just feels like our ML might deserve better. Despite the amazing chemistry
Awww.. that's ok. Not every drama is for everyone. At least you gave it a chance. Happy drama watching!
This is so true. I have to remind myself a few times that there's no exam or prize on the dramas I've watched. I won't lose anything by skipping a plot I find exhausting to watch, and no one will really beat me if I drop a drama. I find that I can't stand some popular dramas, but for me more often than not, MDL's ratings reflect my taste. It's rare for me to like a drama that has low ratings.
Starting this, I thought it will be different. Like a refreshing drama without the usual overused tropes. But…
Same here, but I think I'll just take a break and see how things end. FL disappoints me more than her mom. She hardly considers ML 's feelings. At least here everyone is aware that the mom can't really control FL. Ultimately she'll do what she wants
