I really really should have waited for this to finish airing. Cause... Binge watching it is flowing so well. I'd already set myself to wait till weekend before watching again, and episode 14 has a cliffhanger! Why? The cutest characters ever created, Shayao and Baxisa. I'm happy there's a supportive and cooperative family that can see the bigger picture here, but I'm even more happy that the FL has capable helpers that don't just complain or incite her to anger. They're cute little sisters
This is it, ever since Story of Minglan I've been waiting and WAITING to have a smart, level headed, intelligent…
Minglan is the true standard for strong FLs. I'm also glad that this one is following Minglan's style. The background of the FL matches the character. Unlike some other historical shows that tried and failed. We can see FL learnt under her grandfather.
This drama has a strong episode 1. But I think the next few episodes fall flat. I'm at episode 6 now and it's beginning to look lovely. I now clearly understand the hesitant comments about the ML, but it's no problem so far, FL is carrying the show as usually. The actress is a star. I'm more of a family drama than a politics drama kind of girl. So let's hope the emphasis is on family the whole show, despite the emperor's craziness. On a side note, I love when there is a logical reason why the main characters are exceptional. We can see her grandfather taught her personally (like Minglan and her grandmother in story of Minglan). Much better than when the leads are just miraculously exceptional.
Although GYX is a good guy, he's been lying to HZ for a while now. When HZ finds out that GYX has been manipulating…
The actress always plays roles where she carries the show with her devoted love and care. So I don't really expect too much angst from that aspect. She will most likely be very very understanding. I absolutely love her inspite of how she lets her partners get away with a lot
I am of the sincere opinion that we'd have had way less grieve the last few episodes of someone had just killed Mofang, rather than giving him another chance or extending mercy. Sometimes just be ruthless, not every time nice person and mercy. Shen li, Xingzhi and even Furong could have gotten it done and not opened the seal Also, how is there no natural fire element. What if Fangli wasn't created? What would they have used for fire? Make it make sense. There should be a natural occuring version of that element. I also don't like the way FL's mother handled things when her master was going astray.
It's not rational but I'm glad he locked her up and stay on his ground about being with her😌
Honestly, I'm so glad he didn't get angry and give up on the relationship just cause of the fears of others. If everyone, divine, immortals and Shen li would listen to him. Respect the relationship, help it grow. Then he will be able to work well and not have to lock anyone up. They'd really just go about their lives
Omg the last part of episode 32 with YouLan, Heaven emperor and Demon emperor had me choked up laughing!! These…
I would have expected her Highness to be smarter and more logical than that. How can they think it's the glance? Their world is a mess with their leaders like this
The simple solution would be for everyone to band together and protect Shen li. Since Xingzhi said he isn't given her up, not up for negotiation. Everyone should just support them carefully. Make sure nothing happens to her. I like how he refused to even let her give up on them. Dude is super cute that way. Also, how long will his wounds take to heal, we have serious stuff coming up. I'm just glad they're not in disaster for years and years. The enemy is just behind the scenes while we all stock up on power. This way, the common people get to live well for the most part.
i really hate when the kids get the blame for the actions of their parents (wang xin had to suffer through this…
I know I'm late, but I have to say. I used to be bugged by this trend in Cdramas. But I realised that Chinese tradition places a lot of value on ancestors and parents. They worship ancestors, serve them as parents and give the ultimate respect to them. When you consider all that, it will be very difficult to let your daughter marry a family that's your enemy. Cause she must respect the man who made 10 years of her life literal hell. She lost opportunities cause of this, her mother's health degraded and a lot more. So of they accept Wang Xin, she'll now have to give the ultimate honour to such a man... It's hard for anyone to agree. I think what moved Ma, was when ML's dad offered to disown his son. So that they won't need to have that connection. And the fact that father and daughter knew he was suffering when he's a good man.
Episode 30 was short (... 39 minutes). They could have added five minutes.
They rarely do. This show has a lot of short episodes. Especially Furong scenes at the beginning. I guess it's probably cause he was making moves on Morang and censorship....
I loved this show. I'm so glad I pushed through despite all my hesitation. Ma Kui didn't die until like years and years after the show started. Which is way better than what I assumed before, but I still wish he hadn't. Ma Yan was an amazing character to me. Sure the romance is minimal, but what we do have will definitely thug at your heart strings. In typical cdrama fashion, they didn't show flaws with the system, but it was still a wholesome drama. The relationships are strong and the characters are stronger.

I guess it's human nature, take some high stakes gamble

Like so much can pass through censorship? Why have other shows been letting us down
Thank you
