Yeah, dramas tend to make the ML so passive he takes things no one with proper self respect should take.
My heart goes out to the ML cause he did try, honestly. It's just hard to tune down attraction. Especially when one side is willing to explore. But yeah, she can't entirely take the blame because she has always said she'll leave. She just kept acting like she was forever an giving him hope.
I'm done for now sha, maybe when they finish airing I'll check back. I just don't want to watch the FL become completely ruined or the ML get crushed.
I like my FL to be lover girls.

All the episodes have been amazing so far.
But the characterisation of the FL worries me.
Even more with the previews of ep 15 and 16.
The show is starting to lose me, cause it's like we're just making our ML suffer.
I'm here for a healing drama, but not at the expense of our ML. We're just crushing him with her issues.
Cdramas have this tendency to put the FL's desires above all else. And I'm never fine with that. MLs matter as much as FLs.

ML is very clear. He's staying in town and aiming for marriage. She however has to decide if she'll sacrifice or not

Honestly, I wish she wasn't so open to a relationship and encouraging the ML. In my opinion, he has tried to resist her. But she's flirty and you can't always control attraction. If both of them join forces and resist together, they might have been able to stand it
However, she has been so open and willing to fall. It's not fair to the ML, cause he has always been clear that he's aiming to settle down. It seems now he's willing to take whatever he can get, but I feel a heartbreak coming for him sadly.

Honestly, if she had the talk at the end before going to Shanghai or told him what she told her best friend. His heartbreak would have been avoided. Or at least he wouldn't be so completely crushed and made a fool of. At least give him a little respect. She's treating him like a dog that she calls once she's interested and once she's ready. He told her so many times, no games.
In his show, ML is getting the short end of the stick. Even at the train station, she just had to explain this to him carefully. I see the guy as a reasonable guy. But her logic is messed up.
I really hope the drama makes her a little more considerate of him. Cause I pity my boy.

Even MDL isn't clear on the airing schedule. But the confusion has really been favouring the fans.

This is so true. And it might also reflect her self confidence especially with her leg. She's just aiming low to reduce chances of a heartbreak

I can understand the parents panic in this show. Misty cause their children have peculiarities that can count against them in the society. ML working in a funeral home and having a rebellious youth. Then the FL having a disability isn't easy in a society that cares about looks a lot.
But Best Choice Ever is really an extreme. I personally wish they diagnosis the mom there with a mental sickness, cause that's the only thing that can explain her obsession.

I think reality is just a little washed version of this. Less intense and panicked. It's not the end of the world, just feels like a right of passage. My culture is pretty much the same. Although we don't do arranged marriages or matchmaking

This show isn't an easy show to watch.
First, it looks like it'll take a lot of emotional investment. But the synopsis promises to end well for us.
Then it just has 21 episodes, will it be enough to handle my investment. And finally the airing schedule isn't very clear. I can't be sure of when I'll be left to hang
I'm tempted to take a pause.

Cdramas have never been so considerate. But I wish.
I just hope this 3 episodes today doesn't make them go on an extended break. They should keep with the daily

She's also the one who stated clearly that she won't leave the city. They both know he can't leave their town. And then she kissed him right before her return trip. I think he's just trying to protect himself from games and potential heartbreak

I'm going to hold out on watching ep 34 for a while. And the way things are looking, I might never watch it at all. I don't think it'll add to my enjoyment of the show.
At this point, the drama just needs the emperor to start getting karma in bits. And we need to start seeing signs of the next emperor.
I love this show so far, but I'm ready to finish it.

She's probably getting proposals. They just don't matter cause we have our hearts set on one man.
Besides, she wasn't sitting with her sisters when they discussed this. No opportunity for her to brag just yet. And that's not even her style

Honestly, I was very offended. I read the comments before watching that episode and I kept waiting for him to do something bad. I was so offended on his behalf when he acted respectful and responsible only to be harassed. He treats Shaoyao so well. Mindful of her shortcomings but still as a capable person

As per cdrama style, the last 10 to 4 episodes to the end are skip worthy. Then for a good finish the last 3 or 2 episodes are what matter.
Free dramas are worth watching every episode. And to be honest, it's not an exam. Nothing wrong with skipping filler episodes if it doesn't match your fancy.

That's because when that happens, the partner is considered a Second lead, no longer a Lead.
For instance, Best choice ever that's currently airing. FL and SML do have a pretty good relationship but a lot of issues like his backbone and different social class destroyed the relationship. (They kind of over did it and he doesn't have a HEA so far).
Then story of Minglan, Minglan and the Young lord had a pretty sweet love story. Just wrong timing and his backbone. But they both ended up separating and finding their happiness else where

About today's episodes I just have to say that I hope all the Shen Huan haters are eating their words.
Our sweet boy has treated Shaoyao so well. He didn't even pressure her into accepting his feelings and sorted the issue in a decisive way.
What a man.

I just caught up with the 30 and 31, and I don't see why people were hating on Shen Huan.
The guy is just sad and processing. He literally just realised he likes Shaoyao. And the amount of obstacles their relationship is likely to face can be overwhelming for even a capable person, much less a slacker like him.
And let's not forget, it's very possible she won't like him. So he can't exactly start going over his head.
He handles her softly and politely too. We've known from the beginning that he's kind of an idiot with his friends and interests. Shaoyao says so herself.
I still love his character.
Our leads are a bit stiff, but cute.
Good to see grandma here. I've given up on the logic at this point cause that's cdrama style but the marriages happening are cute.

This show is actually living up to expectations, I'm glad.
Li Xian is now officially a grandma boy
And grandma really said she'll court FL for the ML.
