Definitely, XL's character is shrewd as military leader and I can see his past abuse has something to do with how he behaves but it's so hard accept that just because someone had a tough pass doesn't give them a pass to abuse other people. I can understand the way he treated her when he thought she was a spy it wasn't personal but everything after that is really just abusive and exploitive behaviour so I just want to fathom why people can ship those two. People are saying they're not blood related but the story introduces them as cousins but I looked into it further and supposedly in the drama Xiao Yao's mother is made turned to just a disciple of the grandmother.

I know that cousin marriages isn't looked on badly especial in Asia but don't usually peddle that as the main story line, they don't let family romance be the main course that people have to grapple with so I'm quite surprised and perplexed because I really wanted to like this drama. Reverse harem was my genre in middle school so I just wanted it to be good and fan girl but It's so stressing to me to think that they could possibly hint at a romance between them. So In the drama she doesn't end up with TSJ?

The beginning of this show was so good but 8 episodes in and I'm so confused. Why are people shipping Cang Xuan and Xiao Yao aren't they just cousins from the same grandmother (parents are siblings). To me I thought only TSJ and XL were the potential love interest. So many XL and XY shippers here so I'm just genuinely curious as to what people find attractive about XL. His personality is stank to me and all the moment with him and XY makes me cringe and dislike her for putting up with it. I genuinely want to drop this drama from XL and XY interactions but I'm curious as to what happened to XY on jade mountain how does a princess get denegraded to such a state as she was? Does the story pin CX as a love interest because I feel like I'm wasting my time if it does ?

The ending was a bit disappointing for such a good storyline. I think this needed to be a bit longer so they could really get into the mechanics of past of lives. The problem didn't seem fixed to me. I'd understand if she had a set path for her 19th life that she was straying from but that didn't seem to be the case. The issue was literally that her sharing her past life with the people from it would bring them hard, yet they remembered until the end. The execution totally fell flat. The least they could have done is have her forget the memories of her past life but remember the memories she has made as Ban Ji Eum. It just doesn’t make sense. Things stayed the same, yet she was the only one who forgot. She went back to her old job like she didn’t already transfer and where is she even living because she stays with Ae Gyeong.

OH I see thank you ! No I totally agree with you , that was the weirdest thing for me in this drama, it's so distasteful to me and they just kept doing it smh. That one guy that was actually gay was cool but between the two main dudes it was so tiring. I'm glad to know there's a word for this distasteful behavior. It really made the show less enjoyable.

the plot was so promising but the drama was just average for one that was so hyped and ranked so highly. The fluffy romance and funny secondary characters redeem the show (the gangsters, wanna-be highschool gangsters and Do Bong Soon's mom). I think my least favorite character was In Gook Doo. He was a bit disappointing to me.

Literally, the movie started out so suspenseful and thrilling but when we got to the murder part it made no sense. It was hard to feel for him because it wasn't an accident. He should of just left the house instead of chasing the girl smh . Made no sense what so ever.

yeah that's still siblings you're sharing a set of DNA from one parent even if they were just step siblings it's weird to watch anyone who thought the other to be a brother/sister fall for the other. It's distasteful. I hope they don't go that direction because the cast is so good.

I don't want to seem picky but I usually don't watch chinese contemporary dramas I prefer chinese historicals but for contemporary I watch korean. I didn't really come here to specifically watch Leo Wu I like the plot of this drama so I'm hoping I can reconcile with him, that's it. I watch dramas for plot for the most part not because of who's in it but I do avoid actors who's acting I don't like at times. Thank you for your help though.

My friend recommended it but I don't like family ensembles so I'm waiting for this xianxia since its more up my ally.

I am here waiting to see this new drama, is this not me being open minded? Am I not allow to dislike his acting? Even if you think he is the best among a certain generation doesn't mean it is true for everyone. I'm allow to formulate my own opinion and review based off what I have seen and that's what this platform is for. I didn't say anything bad about who he is just that I don't like his acting.
