I've always found it super icky when it comes to queer issues in Kdrama's. It always puts me off when they show…
Thank you for saring your thaughts, I think these issues are very much global issues and that we still have a long way to go but watching with a wearness as well as raising awearness among viewers may not change the world or the industry but it will affect how we perceve theese tropes and hopefully move people from unknowilgly buying in to the potential homophobia.
My thoughts on the article as a whole is that it seemed to lack the confidence and focus that your previous article…
Thank you so much for your thoughts I think youmake an interesting and pretty spot on compareson between the two as well as seem to have pulled out the main difference between the two subjects: " I do think that the subject of gender, even narrowed to equality, can be complicated whereas consent seems to garner wide understanding and a consensus in its ideal" in the article on concent i focus behaviour which is different than the focus here which is more on the message and the way caraters are portrayed in the dramas as a whole. therefor they do come out diferently.
I loved how well you put this part in to words, and compleatly agree with you on that, in that aspect the two issues are simular: "I do not think there is much of a difference between using cross-dressing as comedy and using lack of consent as romance in dramas. I do think it is possible to explore gender issues like cross-dressing in a comedy if done right, just like you can shed light on lack of consent problems in romance based dramas as well"
I do not really know about the confidence, I do feel confedent about my knowladge and eduvatiin in both issues, but I think that while the issue of consent is very graspable, this issue is more abstract and I dare say more complicated depending on how and from were you look at it as well as it´s context in the world. All things I had to take in to consideration while writing this article.
I n the coutry that I live in both consent and LGBTQ+ rights are protected by law one in the law agains discrimintation that mentions these specisfically and that we do have a law that has a focun on gaining consent for such acts to be leagel. Both subjects are also part of the curriculum ffrom age 1 in kindergarden to univercity studies (done age appropreatly). Even if it not always practised and there still is a lot of discrimnation and violance here too. I am however aweare that these issues still are complecated and that very few countries do have these laws and curiculums So now that you mention it I think the slightly less confedence here is more in how do I write about this so that even those who have never heard of this can understand and not take offence while still staying respectfull towards this issue. but also the more you know the more you know that you do not know yet...
Sorry for the very long reply, do I make any sence. Any way I really enjoyd reading your comment it really did help me reflct upon myself.

I don't watch C-dramas but this was a great compilation of examples. One of the reasons I tend to avoid romance…
Thank you, I can understand that many chose to avoid them becouse of that, i still love them (most of the time) but will always react when this shows up, unfortuanlly you do not always know beforehand and it is often a question of plusses and minuses.
I love this comment, i love most of the comments here, but this one made me laugh so hard in a puch up kind of…
Yes lets go with that... And where the focus of the conversation really doues very depending on sub comunitys and context. I tried to write this as inclusive, positive focus and informative as possible to make it MDL friendly i even used the childrens book (it is a compleatly regular, not an educational) childrens book to show how simple it can be but as you can see it was not appreciated by all but by many. And that the migorety of the comments are positive makes me happy.
Most times I do find myself squirming a bit too uncomfortable in regards to how queer issues or cross dressing…
I love this comment, i love most of the comments here, but this one made me laugh so hard in a puch up kind of way🤣! And you know we do have that love for JHI in common, deffenetly a talant and a beauty way, way beyond... any way thank you for commenting and that is exactly it it is complecated and while one thing may be bad from one angle it can be imprortant from another... ❤
Thank you for making such a great list of some of my favorite dramas! LOL. I know a lot of people want to see…
Hey I love (most of ) them too, if you look att my ratings of them you can confirm it), that is why I chose to write about them, but I do think many of us get affected by them unconseusly espessially if we lack awearness about the consept of consent so I just used them to explain the consept and remind people that it may look great in fiction just dont set it as relationship goals because that could actullly be dangerus. And ask for bigger veriaty and maybe a slight warning but ill settle for awearness, and that I think I have accomplished. for some. Any way thank you for reading and commenting on it 😊
Things I hate about drama: Must have drunk scene, kiss before confessing, inconsistent behavior (where is the…

Thank you for complementing my article! I can see where you are comming from... So I am not going to argue about it, I may even have hinted about the letting down ones hair.... But I find myself enjoying them anyway. And Mr. Sunshie And Nokdu where really good so I agree with you there too. 😎
This was a really good article. I really enjoyed reading your view point . Right now I feel like The king's affection…
Thank you for compementing my writing, I put The Kings Avatar on my ptw, but will wait till it is bingable, seeing so many mention it I am very cureus about it. I hope you will read more of my articles and to see you in the comment section there.☺
this is actually a serious issue across most Asian dramas - the constant lack of consent and the forceful behaviour…
Sounds like an interesting subject to research, as I stated it is a global problem but very clear in many of these dramas. Part two focuses on K-drams, and is still being edited but has a slightly different focus. anyway thank you for sharing your thougts😊
Interesting article.maybe Korean filmmaker thought girls in men outfit and hair style looks cute. You can write…
How nice of you to notice the women here, but if you look again you may see that you will not have to wait for another article to find crossdressing men, however you are right I did write about more crossdressing women than men, that is true. Anyway thank you for commenting on this article.
