I was surprised that Nevertheless was not on this list.
Hi, thank you for reading and commenting on this. I wrote this article june to july so it was before both at a distance spring is green. If you do want my take on Nevertheless I did write a review of it here, what I wrote may actuallysurpriseyou: https://kisskh.at/profile/Shirioink/review/162363
Was "It's okay to not be okay" ever mentioned because as much as I love that Drama, the Female Lead was very problematic.
Thank you for your comment No It's okay not to be okay was not mentioned this part, because the focus for the first 2 parts was consent in relation to violence by men (which I explained in the introduction), however what the focus for a part 3 (if there will be one) has yet to be decided. I will say that the behaviour that has been pointed out here is universal and important to be aware of no matter what gender the perpetrator is. And yes we can most certianly love a drama even if the leads behaviour is problematic.
This part was as good to read at the first part. A great two part series (unless there's a 3rd coming?)
Thank you! I am happy to see you back in my comment section 😉 at the moment there are a bunch of other themes being written/in editing I am guessing part 2 of marriage or bring out your inner anger will be up next from my side but once those are done I may just go for a part 3.
It's nice but how fun would a Japanese version (J-dorama as some call it) of it would be...
This may become a series with more parts (I still have a lot to write about) so you never know...I would need some help with a J-one but keep your eyes open and we will see what happens
I've been watching a few jdramas lately and this has been a problem for me. The FL cringing into herself while…
Interesting observation, have watched very few J-dramas but I do think this subject is pretty universal and can be spotted everywhere. Thank you for your thoughts about this. There is definitely a difference between the two.
Love this article! I'm glad I avoided some dramas and glad I did watch some of them^^ I do like those dramas where…
The dialog and cuteness from the male lead in SWDBS has completely made me forget all his wrong doings... both with how he waits, the whole talking, the protecting without asking for stuff in return (okay a little bit in the hospital), and most of all the heart in the sand...
I have watched touch your heart but it was a while back so I forgot about those, I do remember loving them as a couple thank you for reminding me about them but the same thing happened in Records of youth, after he kisses her she tells him that he does not have to ask any more. However even so people should try to get a feel for the situation because people do have the right to change their mind, just a side note. Any way I am glad you loved the article as well as shared your thoughts and these lovely kissing scenes.
Excellent article! One of the interesting kisses would be in Dr. Romantic 2 when the ML kisses the FL non-consensually…
Thank you, I had completely forgotten about those thank you for reminding me, it is odd how quickly one can forget those kisses even if the build up to them at the time could have been huge. All i remember from CT was the kissing for the sake of the country bit...
This article was a much needed one. Thank you so much! However there is one thing that I would disagree with you…
You are welcome, I am happy you read and enjoyed it.
I can see where you are coming from when it comes to Do Bong Soon, and am really happy you voiced your opinion, please continue to do so because we need more of that voice to be heard. I chose to write about it from a wider slightly different prospective (same with some of the other titles here) but still think your point is valid and important to make.
I completely agree about the fun to watch but not always so fun in real life, I think Mad for each other showed that side of it pretty well, it is just a small part but it is a start and I too hope to see a lot more of that in various ways.
Anyway thank you so much for your comment! Have a nice whatever time it is where you are ❤
Very interesting!I think a first step would be to stop talking about "forced kiss" and say loud and clear it doesn't…
That is probably one of our times biggest missconseptions that the way a person looks should matter in these situations. I can apprecialte the idea of people being a ble to change (on film) but really do want to see more o fit called out and called what it actually is. Good point about the forced kisses being an assult!
What I got from this editorial: REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. It's NOT REAL.
Ok, I do not know what you are trying to say but hi there, I hope you enjoyd the article and I guess yes what is fun to watch is not always fun to experiance in real life.
First that I really loved what you wrote, as a person who watches some cdramas, I know more than anyone that asia…
Thank you for commenting, just for the record your English is great and even if it wasnt I love it when people comment despite language barriers and hope people feel free to do so and ask if there is a missundertanding. The point in this article is to show different type of behaviours that are presented, not point at a drama or relationship as bad more teach about consent by using these exmpls. I agree You are my hero is a great drama and the relationship there was one of the healthier ones, she even called him out on the "light stalking" So I would say that one is there more as a good exmple if anything since I wrote: "You Are My Hero makes great humour out of non-consensual behaviour and calls out even the slightest stalking attempt." Any way I hope this made it clearer for you and I am glad you enjoyed it, feel free to ask more questions if there is anything that was not clear or if you are just cureus.
Wow. Loved both articles. Thanks. You have done well to put your thoughts in writing. Now I need to go watch more…
Thank you so much for this comment it made me smile just the mentioning of JHI has that affect on me. Did my Jung Hae In fandom shine thrue this article... Any way sounds like an excellent hoice of action, you can rearly go wrong when you eatch something (pretty much anything) withJung Hae In. Have you seen the fanguide we made with him: https://kisskh.at/article/the-ultimate-guide-to-jung-hae-in Also asking about may I hit on you can be both respectfuull and like asking for permission to do something you are already doing... so I gues sit depends on heow the person handels a no for it to be a good example of consent. Very interesting consept! Thank you 😎
I get it but humor can punch down, up and all around. That's just the way it should always be. I think it can…
Thank you for your thaughts, people can and will probably make joke that punch the whole way round, but I prefer my humour to punch upwards who is opressed and who is the opressor is however often easy to define if it it can be complicated and/or hard to admitt. But of course there are several things to take in to consideration, like everything in the world it is complicated world we live in...
