For exactly the same reason - he thought he knew better. He was certain he had everything under control, playing the world of human knowledge against the broken world of demons and WIN. Because all his knowledge comes from books and is dry, with not much outside or practical input...

It's obvious he doesn't give in much to emotions, or he wouldn't have done that to his friend... But in the end, he failed to take into account the actual violence of the real (drama) world, so he got in over his head and was removed.

I'll bet he never ever considered anyone would go against HIM - he probably thought he was the outside observer who would be left out by the people involved in the fight between men and demons all the time, since HE didn't see himself as involved, LOL.

As I've said... good riddance!

That's a good point - there's the godly energy AND there's not a red moon, so maybe that's why he can still control it. For now...

The Prime-Minister, too. He was the one who hurt the mountain god, his friend, because he wanted more knowledge... IMHO he got his just deserts.

I think of the dark energy as an elemental. Nobody controls an elemental. Zhu Yan said it was continuously collecting from all the evil that mankind does (and I think demons, too) and he's just the vessel for it to gather in. The fact it WILL get out of control is evidenced by how Lord Ying Long also had to be killed by Lord BingYi back in the day, despite them being friends (or so it seems, from what we've been shown of the past).

So his options are to wait until he can't be controlled anymore by anything and then cause havoc, or force his own death but maybe manage not to be reborn so that he doesn't have to go through any more painful cycles. This time he chose death - but maybe now he regrets it a bit.

I hope there'll be another way... but I don't think there'll be a HEA for Zhu Yan in this life.

The part about being a vessel for everything evil is so like what happens to Tantai Jin in Till the End of the World, seriously these two should be twins :D

WZX explained it though. He sealed ZY's five senses so now his golden core doesn't fit inside his physical body anymore, LOL. therefore he expected ZY to just eject the core (and presumably die). But since our favourite lord demon is more than meets the eye, the dark energy that was being supressed inside him by Lord Ying's godly energy did NOT take well to being over-restricted and probably broke through everything, including the seals, to get out.

Maybe the ever-burning wood had something to do with it too. The result is though that now ZY is again uncontrollable unless he goes away for a while, and even so he doesn't have much time left.

Li Lun was also under a seal - Baize Goddess' seal - and that helped him survive with the ever-burning wood for so long. But he did. not. like. it. (manifestly). I guess it wouldn't be something a demon could easily tolerate.

Ying Lei offered to cut his sleeve for him, LOL, if that's not a confession then what is....

It's because there was skin showing LOL. His virgin mind couldn't take it.

He was both shoulder angels, LOL - one says "don't push the world over the brink!" and the other says "but we ARE cats..."

So I gather that PSJ actually took the evil doctor up on the offer - because it was either that or death and she's not dead.

And can we admit it - evil demon ZY looks pretty cool, too. I mean, he does have some clothes on at least. That should count for something.

Drama, when I said I wanted to see Ying Lei giggle some more, you shouldn't have taken me so seriously, LOL.

I'm not in Li Lun's camp LOL, but you DO realise that's not quite the problem you think it is, right? :D (Because, hello, have you SEEN Li Lun? There'd be queues out his door to the other side of the town :D)

This is like the drama was the love child of The Untamed and Wonderland of Love, only with some sprinkles of tragedy sown in for future use.

The whole drama set is a chem lab, complete with explosive reactions, LOL.

I took it that he still doesn't think a HE is possible for him - he'll see everybody get to that happy end, but him, not so much. So it was more of a bittersweet reminder that he, Zhu Yan... is not included. YET AGAIN.

I know, ZYC didn't mean it that way... but it did sound that way.

I'm so glad Bai Jiu came clean so fast and that ZYC is still giving him chances - but ZY's senses are still all sealed up... it only takes one needle and everything's over. I hope Bai Jiu knows how to undo every seal...
