Yes, that's partly why he's all over the place when dealing with Shen Mo. He's still in love, he does remember everything, and doesn't want Shen Mo remembering all of it, either, because of fear of Shen Mo's reaction (rightfully so).

That's why he needed to have MingXuan answer the phone though he was right there in front of him, when he was panicking in that bathroom. He needs to know someone will answer when he calls for help.

Zhou Yang's mother had plans for her son long before this whole thing happened. She made him go for An'an, to make an alliance with the Ji family (and at this time he was already Shen Mo's lover and partner, they were living together in a slummy apartment.)

MingXuan got wind of it, thought Zhou Yang was scum (hah!) and exposed their relationship to ZY's mother. So she decided to ship ZY out of the country then sent the goon cousin to get Shen Mo and teach him a lesson - break his hands (he was a painter), maybe something more dire. MingXuan was aware that something like that could happen, but got there too late to save Shen Mo's hand. Instead, he took care of him as much as he could, even stood in for ZY when Shen Mo, in a psychosis, thought he was ZY.

Eventually, Shen Mo will remember their relationship and even find out about MX's involvement in his trauma, but sadly, An'an is already pregnant and the pregnancy is dangerous to her health. So MingXuan doesn't have too much time to calm Shen Mo, who thinks it would be best if he'd just leave (particularly since even if he's interested in MingXuan now, MX had an actual relationship with him while he was insane then turned really cold and aloof once he forgot it. So SM isn't too certain if MX actually loves him or not).

A few years later, MX is raising his nephew and he and SM meet again on a beach retreat. SM has healed as much as he could, even started painting again, and definitely doesn't want to get together with MX again - but MX does, and the kid helps a lot, LOL (I hope they keep the kid in the drama adaptation :D)

So in the end, it's still a HEA, even if they get separated for a while. (It was needed, Shen Mo never had a chance to actually get past his PTSD until the separation).

I'm doing 2x 'cause I can't read subs that fast LOL. But it's such a hot mess I'm SO SORRY for August (basically he's the only one with actual skills in the main cast). I hope they don't keep putting him with Leng (nothing against Leng but he doesn't have it...) or he goes back into mainstream dramas. He's wasted in this kind of no-plot dramas.

It started pretty well, but they almost immediately forgot what story they wanted to tell, went into strange tangents (I still remember the durian), a doctor transported back in time who doesn't even clean the wound before covering it in bandages makes me cringe, they forgot about the sweet deserts tangent, too, the poet and the queen's side story poofed - I don't even want to remember how Sri was last mentioned, like an afterthought etc - they either should have planned more eps to let the story breathe, or they should've picked one story and kept with it.

Oh well. The decors were nice though.

He (MingXuan) is only human. And he's not one given to PDAs and love vows. He doesn't have a warm personality. When he fell for Shen Mo, even though Shen Mo was insane and didn't even recognise him, he was involved for real, I guess he never expected Shen Mo to go out of his psychosis, ever.

That love is still there, but Shen Mo doesn't remember it, his only actual lover (not by contract) is, or rather, was, Zhou Yang. And MingXuan keeps him there, frozen in his trauma, because he's too clumsy to help in other ways and he won't let him go for fear (when left alone last time, Shen Mo basically starved himself to almost death).

I can see why he's blowing hot and cold with Shen Mo (though he's doing it because 1. he's stupid, emotionally speaking, and 2. though Shen Mo and Zhou Yang don't have a thing anymore, MingXuan is still jealous like hell about it). Still, he is kind of toxic - I mean, get the man to a psychologist!!

Then again... I have barely seen the words "counselling" or "psychiatry/pshychology" ever mentioned in danmei, LOL. He's a typical cold low-EQ gong.

@burnot means they didn't care enough to get him to a hospital, MingXuan saved him instead. Zhou the mom probably wouldn't have cared if the mob cousin killed Shen Mo, maybe that was her preferred ending.

MinXuan later getting fixed on that type of children's bandaid because he's missing Shen Mo. Yup. Tsundere all the way.

He has freaking amnesia. He doesn't remember MingXuan being his lover at all. He doesn't remember either the good or the bad - but MingXuan DOES. He can't forget any of it, and he's also feeling guilty because he was the cause of it all, at least partly.

Shen Mo doesn't remember being in love with MingXuan - he never was officially either - but he's under a contract and even now he's re-developing feelings for MingXuan. And don't worry, once he does remember, he will leave.

Be patient, or not.

This is moving so, so well, they've already surpassed my expectations. I was afraid they'd make a mess of it, since the novel is based on Shen Mo's POV and he's a bit messed up himself, but they're doing a bang up job.

I am wondering if they're going to change the last part or keep it close to the original. We'll see, I guess.

I think Mungkorn is already a bit infatuated with Thear, LOL. But he's now in a Cinderfella situation and he even made Thear promise to divorce as soon as the curse-breaking period is done... Well, as long as Thear doesn't do anything to humiliate his new husband, I'll allow his shenanigans. But don't go breaking his heart, you hear me?!

Is it me or does War look a bit like Gun (Atthaphan) from certain angles?
